    On August 8, 2017, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding service issues.

    Complaints allege consumers did not have a full understanding of the interest rate of the loan agreement. Consumers allege the interest rates are in violation of their state laws.

    On August 16, 2017, Plain Green Loans responded to BBB. The company provided BBB with a copy of its loan agreement. In the agreement there are disclosures pertaining to its high cost credit, and, tribal law and the borrower’s state law.

      I received a loan with plain green loans and I'm being charged over 300% interest. I have been trying to log in to my account and cannot. I tried to reset and they don't send email to me and I've chatted online and they won't send me a link. They say they cannot. They did send it 1 time and the link says page not found. I told them it seems like they are trying to lock me out but all they said was that I need to try the troubleshooting steps. Well I did that already and everything is fine on my end. I will be paying around ******* for a ******* loan. Not sure what I paid so far because I have no access to my account

      I took out a loan with this company at some point. On April 3, 2024 I was in a near fatal car accident and as a result my account has been near empty as I have had to pay for accommodations to my current condition. I communicated this to Plain Green both via email and through the form on their website and they continually call my phone at all hours of the day. I have explained through email multiple times that I will pay off the loan when my car insurance company pays me for my now totaled car. I have also explained in emails that due to my throat injury I am nearly completely incapable of speech and they continue to call me as if I am able to talk anyway. The person on the phone also wouldn't talk to someone that I had attempt to speak on my behalf.I wasn't requesting them to waive the loan or anything I just need my line to be clear for when I receive calls from both my insurance company and my healthcare provider.

      I took out a payday loan with plain green loans under the assumption that if the loan was paid on time interest rates would not be as high. I have made more payments than my original balance and I barely put a dent in it. *** since learned that this companys has already been sued due to extremely high interest rates and false advertising. This loan is not licensed in my state and regularly follow predatory loan practices. I would like this loan to be cleared as I will never be able to pay it off due to the extremely high and illegal interest rates.

      Before I accepted this loan I received an email that told me that my loan would be interest free and that I would have to do nothing it would automatically apply. I accepted the loan. Guess what I cant pay this loan off. Every single payment Ive made was 160 every two weeks. With now deduction. Im currently behind by a lot but if they hadnt ripped me off by sending me a false email Id be out of this loan already. I cant keep spending 160 every two weeks for as little as 800 dollars borrowed. They refuse to honor the email! Hopefully, there is some justice for us that are complaining about this greedy company.

      I took out a loan a couple months ago in an emergency situation. I have paid back what I borrowed but they say I still owe way more than I originally borrowed! I have since learned these type of loans are illegal in my state. My husband has also been laid off from work and I have no way to make anymore payments! Please close my account, **** as Paid in full and do not take out any more money from my bank account!

      I am rejecting this response because: nothing was solved with Plain Green. They stated that they have responded, but they have not addressed the issue and my emails have been ignored. They are illegal tribal lenders, which are required to comply with state laws regardless and they refuse. I have offered to pay the principal amount on this loan, given them a payment plan, but they assume the tribal laws in ******* supersede those of ******* laws, which I also sent them a copy of in the email that was ignored.

      I offered to satisfy principal amount of the loan, which I'm not even legally required to do given they are not licensed in *******, but they have ignored that request. If they'd prefer, they can take the funds that I made in overpayment from my previous loan with them and apply it to this one to mark it paid in full.

      I am rejecting this response because: the exact same response was received on October 24th. Again, nothing was resolved and my other email from October 23rd has still been ignored. The business is responding to BBB but ignoring my emails to set up the payment plan for the remaining principal on the account.

      They are tribal lenders from *******, which is illegal here in Indiana. I have sent them ********* laws, but the email has been ignored twice and they are under the assumption that tribal laws in ******* outweigh ******* laws. They are not even licensed in *******, so the contract is null and void. Apparently, I'm supposed to continue being a dumb customer who isn't aware of tribal lenders and my state's laws.

      I'm not legally required to pay them anything, however, I have offered a payment plan to pay off the remaining principal. If they do not like that offer, they can take the money I overpaid from my previous loan and apply that to the remaining amount owed on this current loan and **** me paid in full.

      I contacted Plain Green via email requesting them to update the ******* Services credit report to reflect the account as being Discharged in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy case dated 2/27/2023 They informed me the account had been sold/transferred to ************************ on 1/19/2022. Plain Green is the reporting creditor, not ************************ , to the ******* reporting Services.1. Plain Green needs to contact American Debt Managment to obtain the loan back in the office. If the debt has been sold to another company, it is the responsibility of Plain Green to have the account returned them to accurately update credit file. Plain Green received the notice of Bankruptcy petition and discharged order from the courts. It is not the responsibilty of the debtor to contact a third party collection agency to have the credit reporting that was done by the original creditor, Plain Green. Furthermore, the debt was included in Chapter Bankruptcy and the debtor was not notified at that time that it had been transferred/sold to another company. I was just informed on 10/19/2023. Plain Green claims, more so refuses to provide the debtor an email address or mailing address. I doubt very seriously that Plain Green doesn't have an email address on file for ************************* I do not wish or should be forced to call the collections company. The debtor has the right per Fair Debt Collections Practice to communicate only via email or US mail. 2. In addition to sending an updated status to ******* Service, Plain Green must provide a letter to me by attaching it to this complaint with the following information: Account number Open date of the account Creditors Name Debtors Name: Address: ***************** Loan amount Loan balance: $0 Loan status- Chapter 7 Bankruptcy ( the account should not reflect charge-off or collections) It is not the responsibility of *************************** to update the information reported by the Original Creditor (Plain Green).

      doesn't matter when the debt was sold, it was included in Chapter 7 bankruptcy and should reflect that in the credit reporting. 

      Therefore, In addition to notifying the bankruptcy courts on creditor violating debtor rights and fair debt practices act, 
      this matter will be forwarded to the consumer finance division of the federal trade commission for further review. 

      Thus, this matter has not been resolved and the case is not closed.
