We received a letter in the mail March 7, 2022 stating that their unit has been sold and no longer operate as a self storage unit Stating we have until April 15, 2022 to vacate. We appreciate your business at South End Self Storage. Regretfully, this notice is to inform you that our annex self-storage facility located at *********************************************************, has been sold and will no longer operate as a self-storage facility. As stated in your lease, the lease is on a month-to-month basis. All units must be vacated no later than close of business on April 15, 2022 - this includes parking spaces. On March 26, 2022 I then randomly received a ******** message from a complete stranger stating hey how are you I think I might have bought your storage building and would like to give you your personal stuff back like pictures. Long story short South end Self storage auctioned our unit meanwhile also stated directly in the letter on March 7, 2022 that all units have until April 15, 2022 to vacate. I had called and ask for an explanation and was told we missed a payment so thats why it was auctioned. I asked them what were their policies and **** the manager stated you have 5 days after the due date then a late fee is applied if youre late again the late fee is applied again then theyll send out a notice that theyre going to cut the lock and will auction out soon. I stated to **** we never received the letter that the lock was being cut and that it was going to be auctioned, if that was the case we would have vacated. So I asked WHY did you state in the letter we have until April 15, 2022 to vacate and had no idea our personal property was being auctioned, I had to find out from a complete stranger that went through my things and found my name from my personal documents! I got off the phone with him 40 minutes after and was told a manager will call me within ********************************************* that you were the manager im confused?Still no call/our stuff gone
