I purchased tires back in September 2023 from purchasing power. The tires have a ****** mile warranty. I needed a new tire due to it being damaged, I contacted Tire Buyer through purchasing power regarding the warranty. Tire buyer had to contact the manufacturer about the warranty. My claim got denied even though my tires were purchased within 12 months. This is what they said:"By seeing the damaged tire picture, it should be covered under the Road Hazard warranty from the manufacturer- "Continental", however, they have a policy that the tire must be purchased within 12 months or have a first 2/32nd wear (whichever comes first)."

       Hi ********,

You are correct, and you purchase tires from us on 09/13/2023 with ****** mileage warranty.  Your issue with your tires is not a mileage issue,  because it is a road hazard issue. We do not make the rules on warranties, since those are made by the tire manufacturer. The warranties are processed by the tire manufacturer Continental Tires. We were gracious enough to offer you a discount on a new purchase of a 15% refund.  I see you placed a new order with order# TBS600331838CCDATD, so I applied the 15% promised of $44.67 today. We just assist you with the process, and we did so, and you received the denial response from Continental as shown below sent on 05/31/2024:

      Notes

Offered 15% to make a new purchase as tire tread is below the ** coverage. ===================================================================================

      Hello Charlesa,

Thank you for sharing an inspection form including a picture of a damaged Continental tire. By seeing the damaged tire picture, it should be covered under the Road Hazard warranty from the manufacturer- "Continental", however, they have a policy that the tire must be purchased within 12 months or have a first 2/32nd wear (whichever comes first). The manufacturer offer a tread wear as 10/32nd wear and the damage tire have 6/32nd wear, this means that the Road Hazard warranty ****** be offered for the damaged tire. Unfortunately, you have to make a new purchase from your end. If you like, I can offer a One-time goodwill gesture for you. Make a new purchase for a tire through the Tirebuyer.com website without a discount code and share a new order number with me. I am able to offer a 15% refund on making a purchase with us. This is the best that I am able to offer at this moment. For any assistance, please reply or call ************ for help.

      Many thanks for understanding.

I brought a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W 27 60 20 for my Jee.they came with road hazard protection. Back in late December one of my tires were punctured and not repairable. I contacted tire buyer 01/2/2024 **************** helped me with the claims process and said I needed to wait for warranty to get back to me. Later that same day **** sent a tire inspection form to be filled out by the shop. 01/03/2024 I purchased a new tire to replace the damaged one. This tire was purchased from Tirebiyer and sent to the same installer they sent me to originally.(Integrity)They filled out the form with pics, they knew the process. I returned this form on 1/3/2024. I heard nothing back. I emailed again on 1/8/24 received no response. Sent a chat on the site no response either. 1/19/2025 I finally received a message after I sent a few emails asking for reimbursement. In the response they asked for me to ship the old damaged tire to them. Almost 20 days later they finally respond, I already had this tire replaced by there trusted installer. I was not given this direct to save this tire upon my initial contact. And their lack of communication put me in this situation. I followed everything that was asked of me to honor my end of road hazard protection. I responded back that the tire is gone from the shop as I called to confirm with Integrity. At this point they stopped communicating and closed my case. I am still awaiting refund for the tire I had to purchase.

      Business response

      06/10/2024

      Hi *****,

You are correct about the tire purchase, and we were assisting you with your warranty claim by the tire manufacturer.  We assist you in processing the claim, but it is finalized by the tire manufacturer. In order to do so, they must inspect the damaged tire to authorize any credit for reimbursement.

You claim you did not keep the tire during the install of the new one, and you claim that you were not informed that you needed the tire to process the claim.  If you acknowledged the tire inspection form received on 01/02/2024, then  it shows  we advised you, so indeed you were made aware that you must return the damaged tire to process your warranty claim. Without the damaged tire, then you have no claim, and we close out the claim for none cooperation  of the customer. We record all calls, email and chats, and below is the copy of the email sent on 01/02/2024:

I am rejecting this response because:The inspection form contains no such disclaimer or information about possibly needing the physical tire.  As I have attached your forms that were sent to me, nor was this mentioned in the correspondence I had with your agents. The full replacement cost needs to be covered due to the negligence of your company's lack of communication. In a timely manner.

      Hi *****,

As far as we are concerned, this matter has been addressed and concluded. We are unable to assist in processing your claim due to your failure to provide the tire for inspection at the tire manufacturer, and they can't process a claim inspection without a tire for any credit or refund.  In good faith we have been gracious enough to provide you with a 15% refund. All of our chats, calls, and all of our emails are recorded.  Below is the copy of the part of the chat where you were informed that you must return the item for processing date 01/02/2024 at 12:43 pm, and so this concludes your false allegation on your rejection which is show on line #9 below:

I am rejecting this response because:
Road hazard is not covered by Falken tires as stated in there warranty documents clearly. Road hazard is covered by the seller of said tire. In which that policy does not exist and was never shared. I followed all instructions reasonably, all answers on tire buyers end were in reasonable with response time. Where is the policy listed for return of road hazard  damaged tire? A full refund of the replacement tire is needed. And not a refund of my original purchase. ********* tried to refund to the wrong method of payment for the replacement tire. I have attached below Falkens warranty, which excludes road hazard.

Purchased a set of tires off of *******s website. Nexen Roadian GTX tires on March 9th. Said they shipped and then were recalled with no communication to me. After sitting in a holding status until March 19th I reached out and was told by ******* that this seller was in violation of their terms for doing this to multiple customers. That they were being submitted for review and removal from their platform. They reached out to Tirebuyer and recieved a response that there was inventory issues, even though the tires shipped. Refunded me and promised a 10% discount on another purchase. I asked specifically if it had to be theirs or another from ******* and their response was theirs or another brand was okay. I order another brand and requested my 10% back. They then said they couldn't because I didn't buy theirs. Not to mention the same tires were immediacy available for twice the price now. This is a deplorable behavior.

I ordered 8 Nexen Rodian MTX tires from Tirebuyer on 03/08/2024 at a price of $78 dollars per tire. I received an email advising my order shipped on Monday 03/11/2024 and expected to be delivered on Wednesday 03/13/2024. I checked the *** tracking on Wed 03/13 and the tracking numbers showed that the tires were shipped but the sender recalled the package. I called Tirebuyer about this on 03/13 and they advised my order was unable to be fulfilled by Nexen tire and that the package tracking activity was a "ghost order" and never actually left. I called Nexen customer support and they advised they have plenty on hand and no issues with inventory on that tire. They checked and advised tirebuyer is not a direct dealer with them. I called Tirebuyer back and asked for the reason they can't fulfill the order again and they advised it was due to a "glitch in the system". No further explanation could be given when asked for additional info. They were told by management to provide that answer on these orders. I checked the website again and the same tire is now $382 per tire and is in stock. Tirebuyer is being dishonest about why the order was not able to be fulfilled and gave me the run around. The package shows they were shipped and then recalled by the sender. Tirebuyer should honor my order and send the tires.

I contacted them first they said the price was not right so they canceled them and have them returned. They reimbursed me the money for them. I want the tires because they priced them at $153 and they are normally $400. I feel that they should have to honor the price because I didnt ask for that price they advertised them for that price. I paid for them they shipped them for that price and then take them back. If I would paid them with bad money I would have to honor my mistake so they should have to fix their mistake. I bought a set of tires that came with a ****** mile warranty. My tire blew out after just over ****** miles and they refused to warranty it citing road hazards when it was clearly a defective tire.

      THi,
The customer reached out to us on 11/11/2023 for a mileage warranty claim initiation. All of our warranties are processed by the manufacturer instructions.  We sent the customer the inspection form, and he filled it out , and he sent it back to us. The damaged tire is a road hazard warranty.
All of our calls and emails are recorded. The customer was called on 11/16/2023 by ******************* of our ******************** since the tire had a blow out which is a road hazard warranty, then we can not submit it for mileage warranty as the customer wanted us to. His other remaining tires do not qualify for any mileage warranty as they are not worn down enough.  Per that phone call, we offered to process the warranty for him, or we can issue for a credit of 50% of a new one, and he refused both. Customer was not satisfied with our offer, as it seemed he would only accept a free replacement, and he said he would rather just buy something himself without the credit.
The proof of information is on the link below for Uniformity ******************** 2/32 Even Wear, 2 Tires Permitted.
      ******************************************************************************
The offer is still available to him if he has the tire to process, since his answer to the call was as follows:
***********************: Rating: Bad, I'm unsatisfied issue was not resolved
Warranty is trash. Pay for a warranty then have to pay to use the warranty. **** lied and said no company warrantied tires after 2/32. I work on cars for a living and 2/32 is laughable. Youll go through that in like two weeks. Misleading and deceptive company.
We will await his decision to contact us for the processing or credit of his warranty claim.
      Many thanks.

I am rejecting this response because:
There is no proof it was a road hazard as they are claiming. I work on cars by trade, and the tire was clearly defective. Per their mileage warranty of ****** miles, the tire should be replaced as it literally fell apart at the sidewall while I was driving in less than ****** miles. Their claim of only being able to warranty only up to 2/32 of an inch is bogus as any normal driver would go through that in a month or two. So essentially their warranty is only valid for a month or two and not the ****** miles they claim and they do not make this clear. They clearly are practicing business in a deceitful way to make a quick sale. When I warranty parts I do a full exchange. Not some pro-rate charge making the customer pay yet again for my defective part they already paid for.

      Hi,

This customer has refused to process his road hazard warranty in the past through the manufacturer, since we do not make the decisions, the manufacturer processes the warrantied tire not Tirebuyer.com. Providing he cooperates this time, we will send him *** labels to return the damaged tire to process his claim through the manufacturer. We will let the manufacturers experts process the warranty.

Below are the regulations from the manufacturer, and whatever the manufacturer decides as the outcome will be the final decision. He does not qualify for a replacement tire, and he will have to accept a credit refund if they provide one. Since his tread depth for the damaged tire is 7/32nd, 8/32nd and 7/32nd.

      IRONMAN ROAD HAZARD PROTECTION POLICY

This Road Hazard Protection Policy is valid from the date of purchase for two (2) years or when
the tire reaches 50% of usable tread depth, whichever comes first. When an eligible tire is
damaged during the first 2/32nds of an inch (1.6mm) of treadwear or first 12 months from
date of purchase, whichever comes first, the tire will be replaced with a comparable Ironman
brand tire free of charge. Coverage is prorated via an adjustment procedure after the free
replacement period on eligible tires for up to 50% of usable tread depth, or up to two (2) years,
      whichever comes first.

Again, the cooperation of the customer is crucial in processing his own claim.  He must help us to help himself, so we expect the tire return to process the claim. Meantime, he will have to replace his tire, so he may send us the damaged one, since he does not qualify for a replacement.

      Many thanks.

I am rejecting this response because:
They are not standing behind their own claims. They are trying to blame the manufacturers when they are the ones responsible for distributing the product. They should stand by the products they sell instead of blaming another company. It would be a minimal loss for this company to provide a good customer service experience to their customers. I have bought tires from them multiple times, but they have now lost any future business. I will also no longer recommend their services to my customers at the mechanic shop I run. I am not interested in their credit as this will ensure I pay twice for the same tire. Do better.

      Hi ********,

Many thanks for your patience, we were finally able to confirm your return with the distributor.  We entered the request for your refund of $667.91 on November 3, 2023.  Since you used the ************ application to place your order, we are unable to process a partial refund on their website. Therefore, we have to process a check for it, and all checks go out weekly on Thursdays only.

Your check will be going out on 11/09/2023 in the amount of $667.91.

      My apologies for this inconvenience.

Purchased tires and installation from www.tirebuyer.com on 10/4/2023 to be installed on the morning of 10/6/2023. Purchase price was $1,510.46. I received no call back to confirm install date/time as promised and when I called at 11:00 AM CST on 10/5/2023 to confirm I was told the tires had not shipped which guaranteed the install would not happen as promised. I asked to cancel the order and get a refund immediately as I needed the funds available to purchase other tires prior to a planned trip. I was told it could take **** business days. This is an unacceptable and unauthorized use of my funds for their betterment. I advised I would file a complaint due to their poor service with regards to lack of communication and refusal of immediate reimbursement.

      Hi ******,

I'm very sorry you feel that way. You failed to include in your BBB complaint that you placed an online order with us on 10/04/2023, and you made an error in selecting your preferred installer, since you placed your own online order. Full disclosure information is provided on our portal with the installer addresses and pricing, so we do not understand how your error could have happened.

As you must already know, all of our calls, email and chats are recorded.  You called us to change the installer right after placing your order, and that requires a cancellation of the original order, and a replacement order has to be placed.  Your request takes ***** business hours to cancel and process through our system, so getting an order on the initial date requested for installation was not going to happen. You called back two times on the same matter issue to verify the order would be placed as a replacement yesterday, and you requested a cancellation and refund on your last two calls today. As we explained to you via email and over the phone, the refund you requested would be  processed immediately today, but the bank can take 5 to 7 business days to credit you depending on your bank service provider. We currently have no control over when the bank processes your refund.

Below is the information on your purchase and refund:
