I had just sold a vehicle for cash on Aug. 31 and was looking to get into a vehicle pretty quickly. I saw a 2007 ***** CRV for sale at M&R. I set up a time to look and test it and was in later that day (Sept. 1). I checked the oil. It looked fine. We drove it **** miles around the block, with no engine lights or anything. It accelerated and shifted fine. ***** showed me the vehicle and didnt say much during the viewing process other than offering that it was a one-owner vehicle. He really presented no other info.Decided to pull the trigger on Sept. 2. M&Rs out-the-door price was $6,500. I had driven about five miles away from the dealership after paying cash and a check engine light flipped on. I bought some cat-system cleaner and put it into my tank when I filled up, hoping it would clear the light. It did not. I grabbed an OBD scanner the following week and the code flashed for bad knock sensor. This code had obviously been cleared because I can almost guarantee that the knock sensor didnt go bad in the four minutes from the dealer to the highway. Took it into a shop to get it fixed. That was $110 for parts and labor. While it was there, I asked them about a clunking noise the car was making. They diagnosed it as bad struts. Looking underneath the wheel ***** at the front struts, the spring-like part that covers the metal shaft was ripped and falling off on both sides. Ordered a set of struts online for $170 and paid another $100 to have them put on. Mechanics have also diagnosed worn ball joints, tie rod ends and sway bar links. All parts of the suspension make the vehicle unsafe and noisy. Power steering is also leaking fluid. None of these issues were relayed to me during the viewing process. An as-is paper was signed, but these issues should have been revealed in the car description, ******** marketplace listing or word of mouth from the salesman. They were not.Messaged M&R on ******** with a professional message and have gotten no response.
