I purchased my ********** Jetta on 3/22/2024. I put a $500 down payment on it. About a week and a half later my vehicle loses all power on the highway(dangerous!) Took it back to them to be fixed they supposedly sent it to ********** to be repaired. I retrieved my vehicle on 4/24/24 after they had it for almost 3 weeks with NO paperwork to prove what was fixed. I also have no key( which I have been asking for since the day after I purchased) for the lug nuts. Without this key I am unable to change my tire in the case of a flat. I get the same answer (no update on paperwork, and still trying to find best route for a key.) I'd prefer to just get my down payment back and I will buy the key for the wheels myself with that payment. I would also like to retrieve paperwork on what was repaired on my vehicle. Otherwise it would appear to me that it had just sat there for 3 weeks with no repairs.Business response

Since this truck was baught at foothill for 98% of everything was done there all the oil change and I paid for the extra service to check and fill all fluids on my truck I have all the records since I Baught it 19 mo ago . I had trouble with something on the truck in the 4x4 they could not find it under warranty and then charged me for looking . I had asked them about my transmission and the said u dont know to do a thing till an engine light comes on so I was waiting and they where to look at my fluids and check them ever time I come in for an oil change special for 59,99 plus tax ext came out to be like ***** something a time. I started to have an issues I noticed and took the truck to my other local mechanic that I known for 10 years and the filter was in poor condition and the fluid was like dark like a black . Foothill for has been serviced my truck since I baught it because I wanted to keep the business there and thats where my warranty they said they gave me but to find out they sold it to me and lied. Foothill ford Im all my service did not never check my transmission fluid the dip stick is under the truck where when they change the oil they could check it and did not fulfill the contract I paid for each time and it cost me just about ****** to get my truck right from there neglected of my truck. I have all the records from each service they did not check oil on a few and my tires are showing uneven ware what did they did not tell Me that is they rotate them I did contact them but was giving a run around they need to give me my money back I did not get the service I paid forBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because: under the truck is a dip stick that should have been checked u dont need to take all this off my person at main st auto in ****** Nc ***** had showed me the dip stick underneath the truck that is east to check that dont need anything taken off its part of what I paid for and if I said there was a problem they would have changed me per hr just to check a dip stick. They did not check my transmission fluid at any time my truck had been in there and they dont seem to know its a bolt just like on oil and they deal with hot oil from driving it there for service so what is the difference. They dip stick is there and if the cant find it they need to hire people who knows where it is or go to my people because u dont have to take anything off and I seen that for my selfInitial Complaint

At the end of 2022 I traded in my **** ****** for a **** ****** ******. In the first few days it had issues so i took it back. They had the vehicle for a week with no loaner. After getting my vehicle back it still had issues. I took it to flow nissan of statesville. The vehicle needs an engine as well as a thermostat and possibly a transmission. The warranty that i paid $2900 for will not cover the engine. This is due to prexisting sludge build up. Keep in mind i had not owned the vehicle long enough to need to perform maintenance yet, at this time. The dealership did not properly inspect the vehicle and has refused to provide the inspection report. They refuse to allow me to speak with the general manager. Had I known the vehicle was not able to have a warranty i would not have purchased it. They sold a warranty on a vehicle that should not have been able to be warrantied and falsely sold it as a certified preowned vehicle. I attempted to get them to purchase the vehicle back however i was told that as a technician i should have known the car was junk so its on me. Also note that the oil was changed at 10k miles of ownership by me and i provided a photo of that. It was when going to do this oil change that I discovered the sludge initially.Business response

While we strive to make every customer 100% happy, unfortunately, we can not simply buy the car back. We have offered to speak to the service contract company about replacing the engine if that is what is needed. Again, We are willing to help and work with the customer but we can not simply buy the car back.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
They sold me a vehicle at a premium price under false pretenses. Being that the vehicle was sold as a vehicle able to receive a warranty, the vehicle could be sold at a higher price being that the vehicle is not ‘as is’. I paid for a vehicle that was supposed to have been kept up on maintenance or at least brought up on maintenance. The spark plugs were never changed and neither was the oil. This is evident due to the burnt orange on the plugs and sludge build up in the motor. The warranty company informed me that getting any future repairs under warranty are goin to be a hassle being that they know the vehicle was not properly maintained they will have to send someone out to look over the car and approve any repairs. The dealership sold me a false contract by stating the vehicle had been inspected properly when it had not been. The only solution the business has offered to correct their mistake is to pin it on the warranty company and try to convince them to go against their contract that states the vehicle will not be covered had it not been properly maintained. They should have caught the sludge during the vehicles oil change that is required to certify the vehicle for a warranty. They sold an ‘as is’ vehicle at a premium price with false promises that the vehicle was a premium vehicle. So far ive been told that they are tired of dealing with me, that i shouldnt try and do anything because kevin powell has a lot of money for attorneys, that im a tech i should have known, the vehicle has high milage so it should just be expected. I informed then that due to this situation I owe a $650 diag fee due to the warranty company denying the claim and the only solution I was offered was ‘let me call the warranty and see if i can get them to put a motor in it.’ Had I known the true state of the vehicle rather than the falsehoods that that had been portrayed to me I would have not purchased the vehicle in the first place. The damaged engine would also cause premature wear on every other component of the vehicle, hence why warranty wont cover it cause had it been maintained it wouldnt be broken. This means that even if the engine is replaced, other components are likely to fail sooner than they should have due to a rough engine and improper maintenance. I also paid $2900 for a warranty I cant use and even if ******** does call the warranty company theres a chance they just say no and they dont have to say yes because their contract explicitly states no sludge yet ******** ford warrantied a vehicle with sludge in it.

I am rejecting this response because:
I do not know if this is some kind of joke to ******** ford but after offering no solution the next response I get is their first response word for word. I have not been offered a single solid solution to this problem. I signed an arbitration agreement and if the only solution being offered is to talk to the warranty company then this needs escalated. You cannot sell a car for $18000 sticker price that needs an engine while telling the customer that everything is good with the car. Thats the point of a warranty that the dealer feels so confident in the product that they will even warranty it. The vehicle had never been maintained much less properly maintained. Had they told me ‘this vehicle has 126k miles and we want $18k out of it oh and it needs an engine’, I would have never bought the vehicle. I was put under the impression of buying a well maintained 126k mile car that had a warranty to cover me for the future. What I got was 126k mile car that had no maintenance and isnt even able to be covered under the paid for warranty.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
I would like to receive a response as far as what ******** ford WILL do to correct their mistake. So far Ive heard what they cant do. ******** ford has offered to talk to the warranty company, thats it. They havent even offered to just replace it themselves. No matter which way you look at it my vehicle isnt worth what it should be. At the very least I feel ******** ford should foot the bill to replace the motor by a shop of my choosing or refund me for the difference from what i paid to what the car would be worth if sold with no engine/engine needs replaced. I want my warranty completely refunded because i cannot use it.
