We are having an Awesome experience with Brad and the Retire Smart Team! Being almost 65, I am more concerned with "not losing" retirement money, than trying to get Huge Gains! I like their conservative investment approach and love how they are experts at minimizing taxes in retirement! We moved our investments to Retire Smart from another broker and are also saving about $6000 annually in fees! So, our funds are being managed in a way that resonates with us and we are paying less! We give them 4 thumbs up... my wife's and mine!!! :-)

I listened to the RetireSMART radio program on the weekend. I thought it couldn't hurt to have the complimentary (free of charge) "Report Card" done on my portfolio. I've been retired for 5 years now. I've been with my current advisor since 2002 and she has done an excellent job investing my money to where I don't have to worry about money for the rest of my life. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything by getting a second opinion on where I'm at financially today. I sent in all of my relevant documents for their team to analyze and filled out their questionnaire indicating my LOW risk tolerance. I also provided the investments that I like as well as those that I do not like based on my past experience and where I'm at with my life. In order for a new company, like RetireSMART, to take over your investments, they have to find "something wrong" with the way you are currently invested. Otherwise, why would anyone go through the hassle of switching just because it's something new and trendy? A radical move like this is messing with a person's future financial stability so you have to be careful. They did analyze my investments and I was surprised as to the recommendation of basically selling everything I currently own in the portfolio. They recommend selling all of mutual funds and tax free bonds for ETFs, buying stocks (which I consider risky at my age), exchanging my large life insurance policy for another insurance company and converting my entire IRA to a ROTH IRA before I turn 72 putting me in to a much higher tax bracket also effecting my Medicare premium when I turn 65. They backed up their recommendations with data based on current trends and pending legislation at the federal level. It looks attractive when they mention that an investor will have more say over their money at the end of their life. With me being single with no dependents I could care less about any remaining money after I'm dead. There is no crystal ball with their recommendations. Tax rules change all the time based on the administration that is in office. I decided their recommendations were not a good fit for me so I will continue down the path I am on prior to the review with a few minor tweaks. If I was much younger it would make sense to go with their company. I thanked them for their time and efforts.
