Less than a week ago, on April 30th, I consulted with Milan Laser about laser removal services. The appointment was set for 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM so I arrived at 12:15 PM to allow time to fill out paperwork. I filled out the paperwork but wasn’t seen till 01:00 PM (30 minutes late) because the manager had a job interview that started at 12:20PM . She promised a very good discount to compensate me for my time so I waited. As we were getting close to 01:30 PM (appointment end time), the manager was going over the risks associated with Laser Hair removal which worried me as they may be applicable to me but I was not 100 % sure at the time. As we reached 1:30PM the manager started going over payment options; I asked how much the treatment would be but she wanted the financing application completed first. The website advertised 50% off treatment and she had promised an additional discount but the price provided at the end did not show what the original price was and how the math was done to reach the $4192.00 price. At that point, it was 1:45pm, 15 mins over and I had to get my kids from school and felt pressured to sign paperwork so I could leave and do more research and talk to medical professionals the next day. After doing more research on the risks mentioned during the consultation, I decided not proceed with the treatment and called Milan Laser to cancel. The Call center assured me that I was allowed to cancel at any time during the treatment and it wouldn’t be an issue. I contacted the manager who told me they couldn’t approve the cancellation but could offer me other options such as a discount or a pause on payment which won’t work I do not want to do laser treatment due to the risks mentioned during the consultation that are applicable to me. The corporate office Call center is assuring me that I cancel but the local branch is saying otherwise. Milan has canceled my last four appointments and I have not been seen for more than 8 months. I live an hour away from the nearest center and have to take time off work to be able to go to appointments. I have tried to schedule my appointments on Saturdays and they have been canceled every time. My last appointment I scheduled for a Monday and it was also canceled. I cannot take time off work last minute and need to plan these appointments in advance. It has been frustrating to pay thousands of dollars and then not get the service I paid for.Business Response

Milan Laser is predatory and unable to fulfill its contractual obligations of service. We are a military family and agreed to the lifetime full body package because we were able to continue receiving treatment, per their salesperson, at our next station. There is a clinic located here at our station; however, I’ve only received 2 services since moving here in the past 10 months and not because I didn’t schedule them, but because they have not had a technician/nurse to do the treatment. I have been out of receiving treatments for months after at least 3 repeated cancellations my the Milan Clinic. I had made a lot of progress and then we moved and the clinic in Jacksonville, NC has canceled on me last minute - with only a few days notice - at least 3 times. Every time they send the text that they can’t fulfill their service obligation they’ve asked me to reschedule 1-2 months out. Then the rescheduled appointment day and time comes around and they cancel and ask to reschedule again. At this point, all my growth is back and I’m going to have to start all over. It’s going to cost me every dime I’ve paid and owe to start over again at a reliable alternative clinic. And I’ll never fall for the scam of a package deal again, I’ll only ever pay after service is completed. I want a full refund for the full body package I paid and financed with ********* and Milan Laser. They are unable to fulfill their service obligation. I’m going to have to restart treatment. I’ve lost all of this time and suffered through the discomfort of the procedures to have to start over because of the enormous gaps in treatment and last minute cancellations from their clinic.Business Response

I went in for a consultation on 1/20/2025, and I believe I paid around $140 for the package and getting a treatment on the same day as the consultation. Since then, this company has charged me another $140 for treatments I was not receiving. The details on how the contract works was not explained clearly at all, and now I feel like I am being forced to pay for treatments I am not getting for the rest of my life. I’ve tried to cancel/ refund the package numerous times, but the only answer I got was attempts to avoid canceling. I will pay for the full amount of the very first and only treatment I ever received, if it means to get out this package. I cannot afford to be stuck in a plan that will charged me forever. I was not satisfied at all with the results, and the practices of this company have made me lose complete trust. Please let me get out of this package, cancel, or refund it completely. Again, the contents of the contract were not explained to me clearly, and now I am having so much trouble trying to get out of it. I cannot afford to be charged for treatments I am not getting and I am struggling to save money. This was a mistake on my part to trust this company.Business Response

On 4/1/2025 I went to Milan for a free consultation where I then signed up to receive treatments. Today, 4/10/2025 I would like to cancel my treatments. I tried reaching out to my location via email and got no response and then tried reaching out to their 1-800 line and was told they would send a message to the clinic manager. I did not received any follow up. I then decided to contact the location I was going to receive treatments and requested to speak to the clinic manager directly. I expressed the safety of my skin due to the sensitivities of my skin following my first service. I also expressed I would pay for the one treatment I did get and would like to just cancel my loan with them. They expressed they cannot refund me. however I do not feel like I should be continuing this treatment. I am also worried about getting bad credit if I don't pay this loan, but do not want to be paying for procedures I am not receiving. When speaking of payments, the front desk workers had told me very minimal information and had made it seem like it would be a smaller amount to pay than it really was. I am filing this complaint because the Milan sales representative that helped me set up my contract made multiple misleading claims that led me to believe I was getting a favorable deal that then led me to sign up for their services. However, upon reviewing the documents again and contacting Milan, I realized that they misrepresented the nature of the deal and they are now refusing to clarify and dodging my inquiries. During my consultation on 3/24/25, the Milan representative at Milan Laser Rochester NY told me that I could cancel the contract anytime and that my financing plan was interest-free. However, upon reviewing the financing documents again, it states 24.99% APR, nearly doubling my originally anticipated cost of $4771 to $9251, which was never brought up in the consultation. When I contacted the office, they allowed me to cancel my first appointment but not the contract. The representative told me they would have the manager contact me to see if I can cancel, however, I have followed up 6 additional times since the first call without hearing from the manager. Each time I call, the same representative that picks up says they cannot reach the manager and I am not allowed to cancel the contract, despite me being told in the initial consultation that I would be allowed to. The Milan Rochester branch has been entirely unhelpful in helping me navigate or escalate this issue. They are not even putting me in contact with the regional manager. I have not made any payments to Milan; I have not done any sessions, services, or appointments; and I do not plan to. The contract was only signed 15 days ago and I do not have any appointments scheduled. The first financing payment is due on April 26, 2025. I want my financing agreement and contract with Milan cancelled completely because they misled me on multiple factors during the consultation to pressure me into signing a deal that I was made to believe would be favorable and affordable.Business Response

I went into Milan location by me for a consultation on March 31st. During our consultation I hesitate signing at first and wanted to go home and check on using my care credit. The representative talked me into to staying and financing it through them. The next day I ended up in the ER with hospital stay. I contacted Milan from my hospital bed to cancel my contract. I hadn't used any sessions yet and it had only been a few days. I was told I cant cancel. With all these new medical bill coming in and future ones because I'm not finding the problem to issues I'm having. All this will add up and I won't be able to afford the monthly payments. Since I haven't used any sessions and im going through a medical hardship, all I was wanting was my contract canceled so the loan doesn't go into collections.Business Response

On 3/21 I went to Milan for a free consultation where I then signed up to receive treatments. Today, 4/3, would have been my first treatment however I found out that I will be unable to pay due to school expenses. I have contacted the location I was going to receive treatments at and they claimed to have given my number to management and cancelled my appointment, then I received an email confirming my appointment. I then chatted with someone on the Milan website and they also said they would give my number to management. I am EXTREMELY worried about my credit going down because I am not paying the loan I got.
