This company has destroyed my home through complete negligence on a roofing job. They have taken 0 responsibility for what is likely to amount to about $70k+ in damages and just continue to do so to others. They took the money and ran. Do not go near this company.Review from Justin S

It’s sad to see how far Southers has fallen. We’ve used them on several small projects over the years and been very happy with the work done. This time around, we hired them for the installation of 2 doors in March. Sparing all the details (reading the reviews, it seems like everyone has had similar experiences recently), they took a 50% deposit and over the course of almost 5 months, our sales contact left/was fired, 2 project managers were fired / quit and our doors never ended up getting ordered. When they were finally ordered (only after multiple stern emails and phone calls when I could get someone on the phone) the doors arrived the wrong size. Then we got the actual doors in and the work began. This also became a chore as “1-2 days of work” became 5 because after each day I had to quality check the work. Even the final project manager was ready to write me off as being nitpicky until he came out to see the results and immediately called the crew back to correct it. Overall, I don’t see us using Southers again. The communication is awful. The quality of work is questionable and there’s absolutely no excuse for work at this level for what they charge.Review from Judy S

I have spent thousands of dollars with Southers Construction and my last purchase was a double sided deck door that was not installed properly and I have been chasing them to replace and repair it for 5 months without a response. Looking into legal action. Very frustratingReview from Eva K

I had a roof installation and all went well. I chose them again to do some design work… I paid $3500 up front for a design plan to enclose a front porch in November 2022. I have not had any satisfaction. A lot of empty promises and outright lies. My money has not been returned after countless phone calls and e-mails. I will have to sue in small claims but am sure they will never respond to that. So very disappointed with Rickie S*******. How broke can this company be that they can’t return $3500?? Beware!!Review from Albert S

Let it be known, this is a ZERO star review. I should have written this review a long time ago. I am APPALLED by this company in every possible way. I wrote a 6 page complaint to them while they were still working on my house, and I still ended up wasting thousands of dollars. In 2021 Southers installed a metal roof on our house. We had to request a new project manager (AFTER it rained into our living room because of incompetent inspections - you'd think this was the worst of it) and still, we received an incredibly botched installation. Their employees showed up to our house, absolutely under the influence of something (but these were their friends so nothing was done about it). They took forever to respond to me and their timelines were never accurate. They broke a light fixture on the side of the house (my husband fixed this...) They ripped our roof off before dumspters or material were even on site, they left screws and metal ALL over our yard, and again, you'd think this was the worst of it. The old roof, trash, etc. (that should have been in a dumpser), was on our property for two days. We went 15 full days without a roof because they ripped off the old one before anything was delivered to replace it. The dumpster sat in the middle of our driveway for a full month (blocking car access to our garage, which we use daily). We've since had actual professionals come to inspect the work and have only had bad news, meaning we'll likely have to redo our entire roof again. This is INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE. The skylights have leaked (which my husband temporarily fixed), they never put in a ridge vent, which was the whole point of installing a new roof, AND they used metal that apparently isn't supposed to be used on residential homes. The amount of stress this has caused me is unmeasurable. I will 100% be taking whatever avenues possible to get this rectified.Review from Evan K

If you are considering doing business with Southers Construction, I can only say RUN away as fast as you can. My experience with them has been nothing short of disappointing. We contracted with Southers for a full siding replacement. They delayed the start of our project continuously and we changed project managers 3 times. Each time a new project manager arrived, he would bad mouth the previous person and promises were made but not kept. I was also well informed of all the issues unfolding at the company in addition to repeatedly being told the owner was upset they underbid the job. I really don’t want to hear about the drama at their company, I just want my job done and done well. They finally started and basically just hired out the project to a sub-contractor that the latest project manager needed to babysit and teach how to install the siding. But, that didn’t go well as the manager wasn’t always on site and the boss of the subcontracted crew went missing for several days in the middle of the project. We survived all of that and despite some less-than-perfect quality, I was just glad the job was over… until it rained. The window trim was not caulked properly and the gutters were not reconnected to the spouts drawing the water away from the house. So, we got water in our kitchen and basement. It took them over a week to come see the problem. They acknowledged the caulking wasn’t done and told me they would be out the next week to fix it. I asked for all the windows to be checked and any issues addressed. As expected, they have not returned any of my phone calls. I would be embarrassed if I owned this company. Looks like I’ll have to hire someone else to fix this company’s mistakes. Oh, and they installed one window for me, but they played games with that, lied about it being ordered three times and eventually installed a window that doesn’t match the others on the house. I strongly suggest avoiding this “company” at all costs. Let my nightmare be your warning.Review from Nick G

I contracted Southers to replace a couple sections of siding on my house in July 2022. During initial discussions they were super responsive and helpful, but from the moment I signed the estimate and gave a deposit it became a communication nightmare. It starts with the expectation set by their sales team as I was originally told that the project would be done no later than end of September and I planned other projects around that timeline. For nearly 5 months, I called and emailed to get updates and was cycled through numerous project managers. I finally got one that stuck and had my project scheduled for November, nearly 5 months after contracting. From there, the job that was supposed to take 1-2 days, took over a week of elapsed time (4-5 working days). Some of that was due to unforeseen issues (rot that had to be repaired) and some was from illness of the workers - I totally understand both of those. However, whenever there was a delay I would be told that the next day there would be at least two guys on site to get the work wrapped up and only once of all the days they were here was there more than one implementer. It was terrible communication from start to finish. After only 2-3 weeks from the job completion, a piece of the siding fell off my house. I spoke to representatives at Southers multiple times and this has been treated with what I can only perceive as a lack of urgency. A newly completed job that was already way past the original date they sold to me had quality issues and I had to pester them to get the repair scheduled. I would have expected someone out the next day to at least assess it. Shortly after that was resolved, another piece began to fall and they came out to nail the siding in all around. Then, 6 weeks later another piece fell off of the siding completely. So in sum, after a delayed project, the completed effort fell apart on 3 separate occasions and now I have visible finishing nails in my siding instead of a clean wall. .Review from Colin N

We had a new metal roof put on in 2020. Since that time, the chimney has never been flashed properly and water comes into the house. Since that time, Southers has been out to our house multiple times but has never fixed the problem. The problem appeared to be fixed in February 2022 but returned in December 2022 - water coming into the house. Now Southers does not respond and is seemingly ducking us. We got two second opinions, both of which confirmed that the chimney is not flashed correctly, will leak again, and will eventually catastrophically fail. We attempted to reach out again today but got nothing in response. Ultimately, we may be forced to pursue legal action. The bottom line is that Southers doesn't seem to be capable of delivering in full on what was contracted. Based on our experience, I would NOT recommend doing business with this company, it will be endless headaches and the job will not be done right.Review from Maria S
