Had solar panels installed & went live July of 2020. Since then I have been trying to get the panels activated on the **** program but have been unable to because Momentum has been stating my NJ state certification # is incorrect. I spoke with the customer service **** from NJ GATS ************** confirmed my information is accurate. Momentum has not taken the steps to help us resolve this issue going on almost 5 years as they are unwilling to take my calls due to my complaints. When we got solar panels we were supposed to receive energy credits each month which we cannot without getting this resolved. I have attempted to contact Momentum in the past year to get the spec sheet on my solar system but no one is willing to take my phone call, just leaves me on hold or states a manager will call me back & never does. At this point I want to get my solar panels activated, get the money I am owed for the energy credit that has been building for the past 5 years. Or I would like to get the panels removed. I am paying a monthly basis for solar panels that was supposed to be basically paying for itself. This is not my first complaint about Momentum but hopefully it is the last as I am frustrated & need to get this resolved finally.Business Response

Momentum is fabricating a repair that never took place. A disgrutled contractor turned the power off. The repair was to flip the power switch back on. Momentum is trying to charge $800 for that. I have asked for documentation of the alledged repairs but that has not come to pass.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. From the date of installation of our solar panels and the power monitoring electronics that accompny the system. The installed system, could have never performed as they were designed to function. The cost of electricity has been exuberant since the installation of this Momentum system. Not only were we paying a high electric bills, but at the same time repaying the loan of $47,480 @ $297 per month that we did not receive an amortization schedule of the said loan until July 2021. The saleperson *** ******** never gave the cost of the system. The only thing we received was a flyer with a promise stating we were getting a 50 year roof. And there is not a 50 year roof in exsistence. We were under the impression that the total cost of the system was ****** which was the price stated on the flyer. Mr. ******** boasted about a tax rebate. Therefore there is a lot to be resolved before this matter can be settled. I was not really able to comprehend everything that was being thrown at me due to the fact that I has just come home after having cardiac surgery. What really cause me to buy is Mr. ******** told me if we paid it off in 12 months there would be no interest charged. I was about to retire from my job, and there is no way, Our house and cars were Paid in Full, I would never have got into debt for $47,480 had I known the total cost of the system.

Momentum Solar continues to call me from different (888) phone numbers which I continue to block and report and junk. I have answered the phone on 2 different occasions and told them that I already have solar and do not wish to be contacted by them anymore but the calls keep coming.I just want them to remove my phone number and stop trying to call me.They have called me from at least 20 different (888) numbers, I don't have the exact count as I have been deleting the numbers from my call log after blocking and reporting as junk.Business Response

I want my address removed from all momentum sales reps I’m not getting solar. But this time I want someone to actually remove our address from all momentum sales and not be told ok we will remove you and nothing gets done.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Deleting this ONE (my) telephone number now (after I have been called by Momentun Solar) does not prevent any other person currently on the do not call list from being called. Momentum Solars response might be better if they agree to check their list and remove ALL numbers that are on the do not call list. Also, instructing employees to check the number against the do not call list would be a more appropriate response.

I had solar installed in my home. They had the panels on the house without checking the stability of the roof, then pulled the panels off to stabilize the roof. a month or so goes by, the panels stop working. In the interim they raised the price of my monthly loan but I hadn't even received the credit that was talked about upon the consultation.A tech had to come out to work on the panel box to figure out why the solar panels were not working. While the tech was here, he had expressed to me that he was hired the year before (right around the time of my installation) to fix the errors that the install crew had made. improper electrical installation of the power box for the panels. Now I am dealing with the fact that the credit that was discussed with me is not supposed to be as much as stated and also spread out over 3 years. While talking to Momentum I was also informed that the panels are still not working properly. I pay them $600+ a month on top of a $500+ electric bill. Please helpBusiness Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the homeowner and confirmed the service appointment for 2/26/25. Momentum Solar informed the homeowner that the issue with her system isn't related to solar production but rather that we are unable to read the systems output due to the envoy. Momentum Solar took the time to educate the homeowner on how solar works, explaining the offset and the homeowners reliance on the utility grid during the winter months. Momentum Solar clarified that shorter days with fewer sunlight hours limit solar energy production, and the homeowner acknowledged the reduction in utility bills during other seasons. Momentum Solar also provided the homeowner with the financiers contact information to discuss the details of the tax incentive re-amortization process.Initial Complaint

I have started a solar project with Momentum in August 2024 after determining that my home was a suitable candidate for solar energy. We also decided to replace the roof simultaneously, which went relatively smoothly. However, the roofing work required multiple visits to address issues identified by the engineering department that should have been known at the time of installation. I was initially assured that the team working on my project would consist of Momentum's employees, but it turned out that subcontractors were involved instead. After the installation was completed, there was an unexpected delay of over a month for a city inspection, which unfortunately failed due to incorrect tagging. It is my belief that, given their experience, Momentum should be familiar with the necessary requirements to avoid such ********* of December 2024, my solar system has yet to be operational. Although the city inspection eventually passed, I was informed that Momentum improperly submitted the information to the power company, leading to further complications. Despite several attempts to communicate my concerns through phone calls and emails, including reaching out to the CEO, the system remains non-operational due to ongoing paperwork errors.Recently, I was assured that Momentum is working to resolve these issues. However, it is now mid-February 2025, and I still do not have a functioning system. One explanation provided was that my installation is unique, but this doesn't seem consistent with the standard practices they employ regularly. I hope that Momentum can improve its customer service and address these concerns more effectively, as it is important for consumers to feel valued and supported throughout the process.Business Response

Momentum Solar calls me 4-6 times a day from different numbers and will not stop. I have blocked every number that they all from yet they keep coming up with new ones. This has been going on for months. I use my phone all day for business and this is very disruptive. How in the world do they think this is a good sales tactic? I had a horrible experience with Momentum Solar. Everything seemed great before payment and installation, but it quickly went downhill after that. During installation, they turned the electricity on and off multiple times throughout the entire house without any notice, putting my electronics and computers at risk. Their communication was a complete mess — multiple employees contacted me with conflicting information. Immediately after the installation, they failed the electrical inspection twice for the same issue. They sent unqualified staff who clearly didn’t know what they were doing. The inspector even said it was a life hazard and wouldn’t allow us to close the main breaker panel. Momentum claimed they could send someone to fix it in a week. Worried about safety, I had to hire a licensed electrician to fix their mistakes. I also ended up disputing the transaction and filing a complaint with the Division of Consumer Affairs. I’m highly disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I am reaching out again regarding the unresolved issues with Momentum Solar. While the company responded to one of the dispute casesresulting in funds being credited back to them immediatelyit appears that they are delaying their response to the other two dispute cases. This delay is significantly prolonging the resolution of this matter.
Additionally, Momentum Solar has placed a lien on my property for an amount I do not owe. This is unacceptable, especially considering that part of the disputed funds have already been returned to them, and I have been fully cooperative in trying to resolve the matter.
Furthermore, the delays in completing the project have resulted in additional financial losses, as I am now incurring electricity costs that I should not have to pay had the system been installed and operational as agreed.
