    I have a 3 year old hot water heater bought and installed by them. Said water heater has 6 year manufacturer warranty on parts. The part that lights up the pilot light failed, therefore I can't turn on the water heater. I called them up and asked for a fix in warranty. They came here( 99$ charge), instead changed a water valve that supposedly was broken( for 290$) and told me to call their supplier to send a Rheem rep to fix it in warranty. I called, based on instructions and the supplier refuses to honor warranty repairs. Called back the plumber and now they want 99$ for the trip here + 940$ to fix it, or 400$ if I buy my own part ( which I don't cause I was never told which serial number to ask for). But it's ok cause he'll offer me 1 year warranty ( on what, the thing is already in warranty?). These is how these people service their customers after getting the initial business. Nowhere else have I ever heard of a dealer asking their customer to chase their suppliers after parts in warranty.

    This customer recently purchased a home from the actual customer that hired us to install the water heater in July 2019. All water heaters installed by our company come with a full 1-year parts and labor warranty. That warranty expired in July 2020. The new homeowner contacted our company in September 2023. A service technician was dispatched to their home. It was explained to the homeowner that the installers warranty has expired and the manufacturer's warranty is still in effect. The manufacturer is responsible to provide replacement parts or the entire tank, if necessary, if failure is due to manufacturer defect. The manufacturer does not compensate the installer for any services to repair or install said parts. The homeowner is responsible to cover the cost of all labor required in the replacement of warranty parts provided by the homeowner or manufacuturer. This was explained to the homeowner in detail and homeowner was provided options and pricing. We were willing to provide service to repair the heater, as was provided to her in a written estimate. It is evident that the homeowner is refusing to accept the information that was provided. It is recommended that the homeowner perform some due diligence by contacting the manufacturer and inquire about the terms of their warranty so they could be better informed as to what they are *********** receive.
