Got a voicemail from a Jen in the finalization department of ******* management. Called her back and she was talking about a loan I had defaulted on and basically said set up payments now or it will go to judgement to have Collections from my check. I called the original loan company they said it was sold to debt direct. I called debt direct they said it was sold to ****** management and know nothing about the ******* place. I called ****** they sent me to ******* where I got to talk to Jen again and she said they are just following chain of command. She was very rude when I was trying to figure out exactly what was going on. I told her that supposedly ******* has nothing to do with my account and she just kept saying it's following chain of command from debt direct. She then sat the phone down said I was special and started complaining to someone else there and never got back on the phone. I don't mind trying to settle my debt but all this seems like a HUGE scam. I have never received an email or letter telling me any of this. And now it's all of a sudden pay something or go to court to have check garnished. Also when I said I could probably set up payments to start next month I was told that's too late it has to be in the next 24 hours

Good afternoon,  Debt Direct Portfolio Management (DDPM) is a debt purchasing ****** and we do not make any outbound calls or work the accounts we receive. The representative you spoke with at DDPM is correct in terms of us not knowing an ******* ******, as that is not one of the agencies that works our accounts. Your account is placed (not sold) with ****** ********* Management. Based on your statements, we will begin an investigation into the ****** as DDPM does not tolerate that kind of behavior as per our company policies and standards. In the meantime, your account will be closed while the investigation is taking place. If you have any questions in the meantime you can contact our office at ************ Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm (EST)

On August 25 2022 I received a phone call & voicemail from Keith R**** at ****** ***** that I needed to contact him. I was at work at the time and was unable to return his call. Within minutes I was receiving texts from family members that a Keith R**** had called and I needed to contact him about an urgent matter. I called after being upset that he called family members before I even had a chance to call him back. It was in regards to a loan I had previously taken out with ***** ***** *****. He said I had to make a $396 payment before August 29th or they were going to sue me. He gave me a settlement of 4 payments to be made biweekly. I made 2 payments and fell short as well as a bad feeling that it was a scam. During the first phone conversation I told him that my number was the only number to call and not to call my family. I then set up payments so I could stop getting phone calls. That’s when Keith R**** decided to call my 15 year old daughter on October 12 and left a voicemail saying I would be contacted by my employer or the county I live in. Throughout this time I was left several voicemails from Keith R**** and also from James C*** who is the director at ****** *****. I have all of the voicemails that were left. Some threatening. The last time I spoke with James he hung up on me 2 different times after raising his voice and wouldn’t let me explain that I had called (per the agreement they made me sign) the ***** ***** ********** to change my payment information. After 9 phone calls and voicemail I was never contacted back by ***** ***** ********** who James claims is his broker & that I never contacted them 9 times but I have phone records. James is now telling me he is going to sue me for $4800 and that he will take my wages. I never received documentation ever by mail and only have the agreement that was signed for payments to avoid court . This has been the worst experience of my life and I have also filed a complaint with the Nebraska Attorney General

Good afternoon,  We have located your account with the name on the complaint. First, I would like to apologize for this experience. Debt Direct Portfolio Management does not condone these types of behaviors as it is against company policy. Furthermore, Debt Direct does not work with a company by the name of ****** ***** and therefore we were not aware of the experiences you have outlined. I would also like to add that we do not have any mention of you being sued in our system in regards to the account, Debt direct does not take legal action against any consumers. If you were being sued, we would be the first ones to know since we have ownership of the account. As for ***** ***** ********** ********, we do know the company and we have reached out, officially marking the beginning of an investigation as we need to examine your complaint in its entirety. In the meantime, your account will be closed and will remain closed for the duration of the investigation, which means you should not be receiving any calls in regards to the account. I get numerous calls from this company calling themselves Debt Direct. They have called family members and left personal information in messages, of which is illegal and not the way to conduct good business. I was speaking with a gentleman from the "lawfirm," which they are not, and had someone ask a question of which I quickly responded. The guy got testy with me about it and I apologized and told him to continue with what he was saying. He then told me that I just said I was not willing to work with them in this matter and informed me there would be legal action taken against me involving court filings. Customer service is very disrespectful and rude. They should have some better training in this department if they want to be successful in their business.

Good afternoon,  Debt Direct Portfolio Management does not make any kind of outbound calls. Debt Direct is a purchasing agency, not a collection agency and therefore we do not contact any consumer by phone calls or by any other form of communication. Our staff at Debt Direct is also an all female staff. Your account was assigned to the company **** ********** group and they are in charge of helping you with your account. Due to your allegations, which are in fact not from our company (Debt Direct), we have requested an investigation on **** ********** Group to find out if they are responsible for the actions you have stated. In the meantime, your account will be closed with the agency and moved back to our office where it will remain untouched. During this time you should not be receiving any calls or making any payments since it will not be assigned with any agency. If you have any more comments or concerns please contact us at ************ Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm (EST).

I am receiving harassing phone calls from this company that supposedly works for Direct Debt. They not only contacted me and my wife but they've called my family members and work associates regarding a ridiculous debt. There was a $500 loan and I paid $171 towards it which should leave a balance of $329. They are alleging that I owe $1800! Then they went down to $1300 and then to $500. I have no issue with settling the account but I'd like to pay the remaining balance of $329. I also want my family members and friends to stop being called and harrassed. I want to handle this directly with Direct Debt and not ****** capital.

Good morning, I have located your account and it is in our office. However, Debt Direct Portfolio Management is a Debt buyer, we do not contact consumers or take payments in our office as we are not allowed to. We currently do not have an agency by the name of ****** Capital in our network and therefore I am not sure of who is making those calls to you and your family. Making constant phone calls and calling individuals who are not the owners of the debt is strictly against Debt Direct policies. Your account is currently assigned to ***** ****s Processing Services, they can be contacted at ###-###-####. This is the agency that would be able to help you with your account and concerns as Debt Direct cannot work the accounts we purchase.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This is the letter from ******* Capital Group and they said they are acting on behalf of ***** ****s and your company. I sent them several cease and desists yet they are continuing to harass my family and friends. They even called my father to tell him about the debt owed, which legally they had no right to do. Regards, ***** ********

Good afternoon, As previously mentioned, we are not aware of any company by the name of ******* Capital Group and therefore they are not acting on our behalf as we do not have an agency by that name in our network. I did take a look at the letter you provided and will contact ***** ****s Processing Services for an investigation as we are unaware of this relationship between the two. We also do not tolerate the kind of behavior that you have experienced. I have sent over a notice to the agency for an investigation to begin. We would like to apologize for the experience you have had thus far and will be closing your account down in the meantime. For any further questions, you can contact me directly at ###-###-####, we are open between 9am and 5pm EST Monday through Friday.

I had a loan with ***** ***** Loans, they emailed me saying my debt was sold and transferred to Debt Direct Management. I started receiving threatening phone calls from a woman claiming someone was coming to my house or job to sign papers ?? I set up a payment plan out of fear and the $200 payment went to “***** ***** **********”. She wants $1000 out of me when I’ve already paid double that to ***** *****! Do I need to cancel my payment to this ***** ***** company??? Will I actually be sued?? She was incredibly rude and said people were trying to find me. What is ***** ***** **********? Do I actually need to pay this and will I actually be in trouble ?

      Good morning Ms. ******,

We have reviewed your concerns. First, I would like to clarify that we did in fact receive your account from **********. Debt Direct Portfolio Management is a Debt Buyer and therefore, we receive accounts from different issuers. However, we cannot work the accounts, which means that no calls you receive will ever be coming from us; instead it will come from one of the agencies we assign you with. In your case the Agency is ***** ***** ********** Services. We are not sure why this occurred to you if you had previously made a payment already and you definitely should not be receiving any threatening phone calls. We will close your account and conduct an investigation on the agency to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. With the closure of your account, you should no longer receive any calls at all and no payments will be required. If you have any further questions, you can contact me at ******************************

This company called my family members regarding a debt that I was already working out with the help of a debt consolidation agency. I got a call from someone stating they are from ******* *** ****** law firm hired by them. They harassed my family members about my loan which is a violation. They discussed some settlement terms with my family member and sent a letter to them. When I called them back they were trying to setup payment with me. When I told them I am already working with a debt agency and would like to setup payments through them they threatened me with some court filings.

      Good evening,

Debt Direct Portfolio Management does not make calls to consumers at all since we are not a collection agency and therefore do not reach out to consumers. We are also unaware of a company by the name of ******* *** ****** as you have stated, therefore, we are not aware of who is contacting you or your family. I would also like to add that the Debt Consolidation company did reach out to us and they were forwarded over to the agency that is in charge of your account, which is Great Lakes Processing Services and this means that both Debt Direct and Great Lakes Processing Services are aware of the Consolidation company helping you. If you have any questions you can contact Great Lakes Processing Services at ###-###-####.

This company is harassing. They begins calls before 8:00 AM and leave very harassing messages and threats. They have been calling people I am not related to and leaving personal information on their VM's which is a violation of the FDCPA. They have no boundaries or work ethic as their company should not be in business and investigated for bad business practices.

      Good afternoon,

We have located your account with the information provided in the BBB complaint. We spoke earlier and cleared up the misunderstanding with the account and I said that when the BBB complaint came through we would go ahead and respond. As mentioned in our telephone call, the call recordings and account notes have been requested from the agency Eastpoint Recovery Group; once they have been received we will start our investigation. Your account has been closed and we have actually decided to permanently close the account due to the experience you described over the telephone call. You will be receiving a letter from Debt Direct Portfolio Management confirming this closure by the end of the day by email.  On behalf of Debt Direct Portfolio Management, we do apologize for the inconvenience and the experience you have gone through. We will make sure to begin and complete the investigation into the agency Eastpoint to make sure no one else experiences what you have. If you have any questions, you can contact me at any time Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm EST.

I found out that my debt from ***** ***** ***** was sold to this company. And they have been using a third party company (****** *** ******) to call and harass not only myself but also someone I used as a reference on the account. They are calling all hours of the day including working hours. Threatening to come to my work, and my house. Saying that there has been written communication when I have received none. Threatening to take me to court. They informed my mother of my debt which is a violation of my rights. They have recorded me on the phone without my permissions. They asked me to pay so many different amounts to settle. First was $500 then it was 800 finally I paid 400 and they said I need to pay another 700 but tried to charge my account 900 in the middle of the night. Now there saying I need to pay 1500.00. And there telling me to pay it by cash app. Iv looked online I don’t see a debt attached to my credit report. I haven’t received anything in writing from this company.

      Good morning,

First we would like to apologize for what you have been experiencing. We would also like to let you know that although it is true we did receive your account from **********, Debt Direct Portfolio Management is a debt purchaser and not a collection agency, which means that we do not make direct contact with consumers when it comes to their accounts. Debt Direct also does not work with any agency by the name of ****** *** ****** and therefore we are not sure of who has been contacting you. Your account was placed with an agency previously but it has been returned back to us since then which means that you should not be receiving any calls at all.

Furthermore, we do not credit report which is why the account would not appear in your credit report and as mentioned previously, we are a debt purchaser and not a collection agency which is why you wouldn't get communication from us unless you contact our office Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm EST by telephone or email.

Good afternoon Ms. *****, We have located your account with your Name. There appears to be some confusion with your account. Debt Direct Portfolio Management is a debt purchasing agency, we purchased your account from ********** in December of 2021. Being a debt purchaser means that we are not allowed to contact consumers nor take payments as that would be the job of a collection agency. Your account was previously placed with an agency but it was returned back to our office in March of 2022. Your account has been internal (with our office) since that time. Therefore, any calls you are receiving are not from Debt Direct Portfolio Management or from any of our agencies as we have not assigned an agency to your account since its returned in March.  If you have any more questions you can contact us at ###-###-#### between 9:00am and 5:00pm (EST) Monday through Friday or by email at A*****************************

So I’ve been receiving nonstop calls from William B****** and Stacey S***** threatening me to show up to my household to force me to sign a paper over a loan I had with ***** ***** loans. ***** ***** sent me an email saying debt direct purchased my loan and I’ve tried calling debt direct and no answer!! I tried to come to an agreement with William and he constantly harassed me about paying an insane amount of interest and when I refused he started raising his voice and getting upset. I really needed the money from ***** ***** at the time I had lost my job and my wife had a miscarriage we were going through a very difficult time and on top of that I lost my job which was the main reason I couldn’t pay the loan. Debt direct shame on you that is not the way to handle debt collections.

Good morning Mr. *********, First and foremost I would like to apologize for the experience you have had so far. Second, Debt Direct Portfolio Management is a Debt purchasing company and not a collection agency, which means that we are not the ones who contact and/or take payments from Debtors. I would also like to let you know that we do have agencies who are contracted under us to work the accounts we own, however, B****** and Stacey S***** is not one of them, I have also never heard of an agency by that name. If you have any further questions, you can contact our office between business hours, which is 9:00am to 5:00pm (EST) Monday through Friday.
