I have been getting threatening phone calls from ###-###-#### . Apparently from Berkeley Regal (which I cant find anywhere on the internet) saying that they are going to come to my house and my job, file a lawsuit for over 3 times the amount of the debt that I owed. They have all of my personal information so I asked for some type of documentation because I had no clue who they were and I want to confirm the authenticity of the call. The guy that I'm speaking with says we sent you documentation over 30 days ago, lose the attitude! Wait a minute, what? I just want to confirm the debt so I can take steps to pay it if its valid. What these people are doing is unethical and possibly illegal! I want to resolve any debt that I owe ANYONE but I want to make sure I'm paying the correct people and I don't want to be harassed and threatened1Business response

Good morning, I would like to thank you for reporting to us what has been happening on your end with the calls you have been receiving. Debt Direct Portfolio Management (DDPM) does not condone this kind of behavior at all and we will be conducting an investigation with the agency in charge of your account, ***** ***** ********** ******** since you should only be receiving calls from them. Unfortunately, the agency mentioned in your description is not an agency that is onboarded with us and therefore is not an agency that should be contacting you in regards to your account. We have requested all call recordings and account notes from ***** ***** ********** ******** that will help in our investigation. I would also like to apologize for what you have experienced and assure you that corrective action will be taken based on the results from the investigation once it has been completed. On 08/19/21 I received an email from plain green that Debt Direct was now in charge of my debt. On 09/02/21 I received a call from a blocked number, the voicemail was a man threatening to show up to my house or place of business on sept 6th. I’ve looked into the laws and plain green loans is not a place that can sue in civil court and sure as hell can’t be threatening to show up to your house. The entire world is in an economic disaster, I have ridiculous debt but my car, house and putting food on my table is most important. I’m also pregnant and can’t work like I used to. I don’t have money to pay this debt but they’re ruthless with the phone calls and the threatening. Extremely unprofessional. And claiming to be lawyers. And from what I’m reading from all the previous complaints it’s the same places Berkeley.Business response

We have taken a look at your account and I would like to apologize for the experience you have endured. It looks like your account is currently placed with Great Lakes Processing Services, they should have been the only ones trying to make contact with you. Due to your most recent experiences, I have requested for your account to be closed. Once I receive confirmation, I will request call recordings and all account notes from the agency to begin an investigation. Your account will be closed and placed in a closed status which means that your account will not be placed with another agency and therefore you will not receive any calls regarding your account. Again, I would like to apologize for what you have experienced as we do not condone that kind of behavior and thank you for letting us know.

I have been receiving threatening phone calls from Karen M**** saying she is with Berkeley Regal (844) 396-9404, when I have asked for paper work or any information other than what she is telling me on the phone I am threatened with lawsuits. My debt was sold to Debt Direct & she is acting on their behalf. She has called my Job, My family & me to the point of harassment. Karen called my mom on 5/21/21, my stepmom on 8/3/21, my job also on 8/21/21 & several other times asking for employment verification without a judgement or paperwork to do so. I have not received any paperwork or information other than the threatening phone calls.Business response

First I would like to apologize for the experience you have encountered and would like to let you know that Debt Direct Portfolio Management does not contact consumers. Your PlainGreen account was placed with Great Lakes Processing Services on May 2021. I have requested the account be closed and received a confirmation from the agency, therefore, you should no longer receive calls or any kind of communication regarding your account. An investigation has also been opened in which we will receive call recordings and any account notes that may have been taken.
