I contracted this company to assist me with paying off my credit card debt on January 3, 2023. My debt at the time totaled to $12,477.00 dollars and I was paying them on a monthly basis. I paid Atlas for a full year the total amount of $3,549.31 and they did not pay off any of the debt accounts and now my debt went up to a total amount of $13,853.00 which is $1,376 dollars more than when I contracted them to do the opposite. Not only is my debt higher than before 0 accounts were paid off and I paid them $3,549.31 dollars to do absolutely nothing for me but get me more behind on my debt and money out my pocket. I have been attempting to contact them for a year now and have gotten no response at all from them. I was robbed and they are not taking responsibility for their fraudulent actions with me. Atlas committed based on their contract to pay off my debt accounts with my money and they did no such thing. Atlas has not reached out to me to either pay me back and refund me my full amount paid to them $3,549.31 which is what they owe me at this point, and have not responded to any of my request for communication with them. At this time all I want is for my money to be paid back and refunded to me. I have sent them plenty of documentation and have been ignored by them.Initial Complaint

I was given an estimate to end the program almost 4 months ago. After various calls to customer service I was told it would be taken care of by 3 months. I spoke with their litigation team that handled one of my cc balances and had them pay the total of that card immediately which they were able to do. I even received a letter from the bank stating it was paid in full. I spoke with someone last week in escalations that had the nerve to say that my creditors weren’t being contacted because I still owed almost $2000 in service fees. I knew they weren’t because I was calling the creditors. They also told me that only my portion of the paid off card had been taken care of and that the program would continue to take payments from my account with them until stated under the program. I hope the phone calls are recorded because what they have been telling me is something different every time and the fact that in the past 3 months not one rep told me about the extra fees needed is completely ridiculous. I wish I had more money to pay a lawyer to take care of this mess because my credit has tanked even more since being with this company. I have more than $11000 in my account with them and they say they aren’t even refunding half of that if I remove them from handling my accounts because of the service fees.Initial Complaint

During what I now know was just a sales call, I was promised to pay only 50-60% of my total debt in just over 3 years. Multiple settlement offers I received from creditors were ignored by atlas with no communication as to why. For one debt I had of about $6,600 I was offered a settlement of $3,300. I sent this to atlas and they ignored it completely. After the debt was sent to collections, they settled on about $5,000 and charged me over $1600 in fees. Almost the amount I owed initially and far more that the 50-60% I was promised. In addition to the higher settlement amount, the fees were never discussed with me during my multiple phone conversations while setting up this program. My next settlement was for a debt that was about $22,000. I had received an offer from the creditor for about $12,000 which was again ignored by atlas. I then got sued by this creditor. Something I was assured would not happen when I was setting up the program. I had to remove this debt and work with the creditor on my own as atlas was telling me numbers that were again far exceeding the 50-60% I was promised and trying to charge me a fee of $5,500. In total I would have had to pay over $24,000 for this debt. No where near saving any money. I was sold on lies and along the way atlas never communicated with me via phone or email even after my requests. I would like to seek reimbursement for the fee that I have paid them and for the damages they have caused through their negligence and false promisesInitial Complaint

I enrolled in this program over a year ago and have had little to no contact with them seeing as they never respond or answer phone calls. I have 4 creditors enrolled in their “program” for a total of a little over $10,000. They have only resolved one creditor for around $600, even though I have made payments of $287 once a month for over a year…. There is no way to access or even see the money they have withdrawn from my bank account. I also have no way of stopping their withdraws or receiving money already taken….Initial Complaint

I had atlas Debt relief paying off debts I could not keep up with. When I spoke with them, they told me 396 a month for a certain number of months and that is it. 2 years in it was obvious this was not going to happen as only 2 accounts were paid off out of 9. I even paid one off as the company served me at my house. They have settled a total debt of $2650.00 I have paid them to date $7920.00 It shows no money left in the account. Every month they had approx. 135 in Service fees, 24 in 2nd day fees. and multiple other fees. When I spoke with them yesterday, they changed the original plan and said I would have to extend my contract to get the debts paid. I want to find out more about the lawsuit they are in as they charged me more than they were paying out to my debts. I closed the account 9/5/24 and have paid the remainder. They have done a lot of damage to my credit. They strung the payments on making the service fees unmanageable. Almost 8000 in payments and less than 3000 in debt paid. What can I do to recover some of these costs.Initial Complaint

I have been working with Atlas Debt Relief for over two years and I have been incredibly disappointed. They are not paying my debts off as they promised as part of the debt relief program. I have paid over 10K and none of my debts have been cleared. They are only paying off a small amount at a time instead of settling anything. My credit has pulmonated since working with them and they have no remorse. They will not properly update me on anything and keep saying "your credit will be going up soon" this has been an ongoing response for months. I am at the point now where my credit is so low due to this that I can't buy my first home. They need to be shut down.Initial Complaint

Collected a lot of money from me to negotiate debt settlements with 3 creditors. One they never did anything toward addressing it. 2 others reached a payment agreement but most of what I paid seemed to go to previously undisclosed fees and little actual debt reduction. Scam for sure and misrepresented what they said they would do.Can never get a hold of anyone for monthsInitial Complaint

I contracted with Atlas Debt Relief Company to manage my credit card debt in September 2022. Since then, they have settled only one debt and have been monthly withdrawing $483.58 to the ****** ** LLC account to pay the rest of the debts. In June 2024, I ended the program and paid them $15,407.83 in a lump sum to close all my debts in one accord. They received the sum and stopped monthly debits from my account but did not pay my creditors. As a result, one of them has forwarded my account to a collection agency. I want them to refund my money so that I can pay my creditors myself. Contacting them on the phone is impossible - they have disconnected it! I know that a lawsuit has been opened against this company, but that does not mean that they have to continue mismanaging their clients' money meanwhile!Initial Complaint

Atlas debt relief was helping me settle my credit cards balance. I own 40k and during my first call to them they quoted me $578 monthly payment. Then every time they negotiated with a creditor I received a call from this company asking for more $. Then I was paying almost $800 monthly after and there were some credit cards that were not settled yet. I decided to cancel and deal With the credit card companies myself since my monthly payments kept going up. This was apparently 3 month ago now and I was told I have a little over $2000 in my account that was going to be sent back to me 3 days after the account was close. Is going on 3 months now and still no money. I have contacted them multiple times and they see the $$ there but no one knows why I haven’t received my refund. I want my $! Back bottom line. I’m sick and tired of this company back and forth. Please advise. Thank you in advance.
