Better Business Bureau, I mailed this letter to Mystic Stamp Co. I am requesting a "zero balance" for Acct #**********. To: Mystic Stamp Company 4/25/2022 From: ****** ******** On April 18 2022, I received two letters from Mystic Stamp Company. The first letter contained a $2.95 refund check #**** dated 4/12/2022 for me to cash which I did 4/23/2022. This refund check #**** is a refund given to me from your Company for not giving me what your company advertised “**** ***** ******* **** ******** **** **** ****** *** **** ***** and reimbursing me for your company cashing my $2.95 check #***** dated 3/23/2022 on 3/30/2022. The second letter dated 4/12/2022 contained another bill stating that my bank remitted a two dollar check #***** for “ACCOUNT CLOSED” reasons and a $25.00 “cover banks service charges”. In total, Mystic Stamp Company is charging me $27.00. In defense, my bank account has never been closed as Mystic Stamp Company is claiming and the remitted check #***** is not one of my checks. At best, the second letter may be a mix-up in Mystic Stamp Company financial department. At worst, this could be harassment for me notifying the Better Business Bureau of your deceiving advertisement of “**** ***** ******* **** ******** **** **** ****** *** **** *****” and me wanting my $2.95 money back which your first letter has done. I am waiting for a “zero balance” statement from Mystic Stamp Company towards Membership/Account #********** and after that I do not want to deal with your company ever again.Business response

My mother enrolled in Mystic Stamp subscription service many years ago. She is now quite elderly and suffers from DEMENTIA. I wrote and sent a letter to Mystic Stamp in the beginning of January along with returning the stamps they had recently sent her. In the letter, I wrote that my mother wanted to cancel her subscription and had her sign it. Mystic Stamps has ignored this request to cancel the subscription service and continues to send my mother stamps. They are TAKING ADVANTAGE OF MY MOTHER'S MENTAL STATE and I want this to stop. Since they refuse to honor my request to stop, I ask you to make them stop. My mother's name is ***** ******* and her Mystic Stamp account number is **********.Business response

Family filing complaint on behalf of an elderly, frail senior who does NOT wish to give this company another dime & does not even read or open her mail anymore, as she is now with full-time care. This firm was contacted on 1/4/2022 and asked to STOP ALL COMMUNICATIONS to her address of record. They have not & continue with almost daily mailings!! The family demands that she be removed from their contact list & in addition, requests a REFUND of $21.00 for the worthless coins that she has previously paid dearly for (we know because we took them to an independent coin dealer who affirmed they were not worth anything except face value). As of 12/6/21 her act. number - ********** - had a point balance of 2,227 points. She will NEVER open or reply to another of their bogus, scam mailings again and we will be returning all mailings as "REFUSED" - they need to STOP harassing this senior!!Business response

Hello - I can see from this customer's account that it was closed when someone called our Customer Service department on January 4, 2022. I expect nothing further will be sent. If there is an item in the mail stream which I was unable to stop, please disregard. Also, a refund check for the requested amount will be mailed to the customer's address this week. We received mail addressed to a minor in our family telling us that they shipped us "the stamps you sent for". We have never knowingly requested any information from this company, have never even heard of it, and the minor most certainly has no way of placing such an order. It is ridiculous to request that we send unsolicited mail back to the company (that information is buried in the correspondence) just to avoid being charged. If I see further mail from this company I intend to follow up with authorities, especially given they are targeting minors.Business response

Hello Mr. ***** - On January 26, 2022 Mystic Stamp received an order from ***** ***** at your address. The order was for a set of 1969 US Postage Stamps. Mystic Stamp does not target minors for its advertised stamp offers.The account has been removed and I expect nothing further will be sent. Please consider the contents of that package a gift you are not obligated to return.

12/24/2021, I received a coin and a bill for said coin in the mail. I never ordered anything from this company. Further, the letter said I would receive coins monthly and be billed for them. I have never had any interactions with this company before and this feels like a scam to get Senior citizens to pay for something they didn't order and do not want. Very bad business practice for this company.Business response

I ask this company to stop sending more stamp packages and they kept sending then anyway and it said in their ad just tell them to stop and they would discontinue but they just kept sending stuff. I even send a registered letter telling them to stop but I received a free stamp package still. I want them to stop sending anything else.
I went to the Post office and they said I could write a letter and send it registered mail which I did and they still send stuff.

This company automatically sends you coins or stamps and tells you that you have to pay for them and pay for the shipping if you return them. I have made it very clear in writing that they are not allowed to send me automatic shipments and they still do. When I have returned the items that they have sent me in the past at my own expense I was still charged for them because they lied and said I never returned them. They have no customer service. I have been on hold for an hour and never got to a person.Business response

The items sent to you "on approval" were mentioned in the advertised offer you requested. With those items you received a preaddressed envelope with the postage paid to return them if you did not want them. Mystic Stamp does not automatically charge for any of the items sent "on approval." Reviewing your account I can see you have never been charged for anything.
Please keep the items you have received and consider it a gift. I have closed your account and I suggest you do not answer another Mystic Stamp Company advertisement in the future.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
The information in their response is false. I have been charged several times by this company in the past and they do lie about receiving returns. Even when it is returned in the envelope provided they deny it is ever returned. And every time I have ever ordered anything from this company I have included on writing that I have opted out of automatic mailings.
The response says to keep what they sent as a gift and I hope they honor that but I will probably billed in the future for not returning them. I do not trust this company and others should be warned about it.

I keep receiving products from this company in the mail that I did not ask for. I've tried contacting the company and gotten nowhere about stopping products. First it was a few coins which easy enough to ship back. Now I'm receiving bigger items in the mail and I don't feel I should be responsible for mailing them back at $15.50 per item (USPS flat rate). I want my account closed and to no longer have the company send me anything again.Business response
