This bank held a loan we had on a truck we purchased. Truck was sold, loan was paid in full, lien was released along with the title. Fast forward 2 1/2YEARS and now we are being constantly harrassed for more money! ON A LOAN THAT WAS PAID IN FULL! We have provided proof, we have told them not to contact us, we have informed them the loan was paid in full and yet they WILL NOT STOP. Conveniently, this all started once they changed names or merged with First Citizens or whatever happened. This is harassment, deceptive billing and fraud.Business response

I applied online today at CIT Bank website. Unfortunately, I had not seen the negative reviews online from people who had the same experience. After entering all my personal information into the online application, I was immediately denied with no explanation. I am now concerned about identity theft.Business response

Hi,I opened a **************** account a few days ago. I successfully verified an external checking account (from Chase) to fund this saving account, and transferred ****** dollars to it.Today, I discovered an unauthorized transaction on my Chase checking account coming from CIT, for ****** dollars.CIT's customer service told me that this unauthorized transfer is because I committed to fund my new CIT savings account with ****** dollars. However, the ****** dollars that I transferred before more than meets this commitment, and therefore there is no justification for this ****** dollars unauthorized charge.Please cancel this charge at your earliest convenience.Thanks,********Business response

I opens my account back in May 2023. It has progressively gotten worse and worse. The customer service is DISGUSTING! One guy would not speak to me unless I gave him my name 4 times. He insisted on my middle initial as well. Moving on, I made a deposit on 8/1, through ACH, to date this money is not reflecting in my account. I have called customer service and each time they give me the date for it to reflect, it comes and goes. We are on day 8 and I was told on the 8th yesterday and still nothing.I will be closing my accounts and ceasing all banking with Cit Bank. On 7/20/2023 I Opened a savings account due to the high interest rate, The same day I deposited $7500, A few days later I checked the account and wasnt able to login, after I called I was told my account was under review and that my account was probably going to be closed and my money returned back to me, A few days ago I got a letter confirming that my account was being closed, however last night I received two emails giving me updates about the account that I apparently dont have that my action was required on the account that I cant acces, this bank has been withholding my funds from me for over two weeks now, the minute my account was going to be closed my funds shouldve been instantly wired back to my Pcsb account on file, this bank needs to stop lying to people and making their customers jump through every hoop imaginable, my funds need to be wired back to my account on file immediately, if I do not receive my funds within 24 hours I will be filing a claim with the fdicBusiness response

i tried opening an account but after collecting all of my personal information they denied me an account with no explanation provided. i tried speaking to a customer service representative and was told that maybe i have a vpn. i tried applying from a different computer without a vpn but still the same; collect all my information and then denial without explanation. are they selling my personal information?Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I can now login to the app and it functions correctly except for when it doesn't. From time to time the fingerprint security doesn't work and I have to reenter my login info and then turn on and then turn off fingerprint security to get it to work again.

I applied to open a CIT Bank **************** account with a $300,000 deposit of funds from another bank. I applied online and started the funds transfer process. My application was denied. CIT would not provide me with a reason. The bank runs a soft hit on your credit. My credit score was 788. Why was I denied? I want a specific reason.Business response

I attempted to sign up for CIT **************** Account. Despite having a good credit score and no record with ChexSystems I was denied by the bank's automated account opening system with no explanation. No explanation was sent to me by email or US Postal Mail. I phoned customer service and they could not provide a reason for the rejection. This company is potentially discriminating against me and lacks transparency concerning potentially derogatory information on prospective customers. I request the company explain exactly why my account opening request was denied so I can determine if any rights were violated or if there is any false derogatory information reported against me.Business response

I opened a **************** account on June. 3, 2023 with ***. I received congratulations and information on how to transfer funds into my account which is where any and all communications ended. Once they have your transfer, deposit or debit, they do not communicate AT ALL and the *** app is USELESS. Funds are floating in cyberspace, no notifications about pending transfers, completed transfers, either to or from them, or external accounts. The website, once you go through the useless app to get on the website, is not much better. Now, I simply bypass the app and use the website. Terrible, customers are reeled in with great rates but there are absolutely no other positive advantages to being a *** customer. The website will only tell you about a pending transfer days after it is initiated. The *** rate is great but not worth the aggravation and lack of information. I funded my account but am reluctant to add more. They need to be more customer friendly online. The customer service calls have been ok but that is not a convenient way to communicate when placing a call is not an option. Its simple, just communicate to me about my money, where it is, where it is coming from and going to. I say look at Citibank and learn. That is where I took my money from. Communication is immediate, on the app and in an email. Rates are one thing but customer service will always win me over.Business response

However, I will say that the CIT Bank app could be more functional and user friendly, rather than having to sign onto the CIT Bank web page.
Also, more frequent, real time communications from CIT Bank via email and texts would be helpful.
