In mid-September, I contacted my Customer Success Manager at **********************, ******* *********** to downgrade my plan and hopefully get a prorated refund. He did not reply back to me for about 2 weeks. I emailed him back on Sep 30 at 12:43 CT. 3 days later, he said my request was denied. After I pressed the issue he set up a call with his manager ***** **** so I could request the prorated refund from him. During that Zoom meeting on Oct 10 at 10am CT, ***** went on to relentlessly upsell me and tell me there's nothing he could do and his legal team wouldn't allow me to get a prorated refund or file a chargeback. Then, I asked ******* and ***** not to charge my card until this was resolved. After pressing the issue, ***** set a meeting his boss, *** ******* for Nov 6 at 11:30 CT. During that meeting I instructed *** and ***** not to charge my card until the issue was resolved. *** stated she did not have authority to change or cancel my plan and I had to contact another department. She said ***** would email me the contact information. He did not. So I had NO WAY TO CANCEL per what *** said was policy of TrustPilot. The following day, Nov 7, I received an email from the TrustPilot Accounts Receivable stating they were going to charge my card. I replied, directing TrustPilot NOT TO CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD. They charged it anyway later that day. The next day, on Nov 8 at 12:16 pm CT, ******* emailed me, copying ************ and said "Unfortunately as expected, we did not receive approval to fully cancel your subscription" As is clear from all the correspondence (I have documentation), it is not possible to cancel my subscription. Prior to this all, I was happy to stay a TrustPilot customer at a reduced plan. Now this is not the sort of company I want to work with. This lack of concern for customers, making it impossible to cancel (documented in emails), the crude upselling and just plain rudeness. I just want to get the money back I did not authorize them to charge me.Business Response

While youve stated these werent received, they were sent to your active email and later resent for clarity. Our team explored options to address your concerns, including a discounted plan, but your requested downgrade wasnt possible under the terms of your contract. The 9/7/2024 charge processed as scheduled, and your card was removed from autopay the following day. The chargeback you initiated has limited our team's ability to issue a refund or make amendments to your account. Once resolved with your bank, were happy to revisit solutions. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I am not aware or do not recall agreeing to anything that allows TrustPilot to nearly double my fees over about a 1.5 year period without my written or verbal consent. I also am not aware of or recall agreeing to anything that does not allow me to downgrade my subscription. I initiated the conversation to downgrade, or ultimately to cancel my subscription in the middle of September, about 7 weeks before I was charged. The day before I was charged (so, on November 6th), I clarified with certainty that the resolution to our discussion has not been completed and specifically told *** ******* and ***** **** that TrustPilot was NOT authorized to charge my card. Further, a chargeback does not limit their team's ability to issue a refund or make adjustments to my account. That is simply not an accurate statement. TrustPilot can simply agree to the chargeback and can fulfill my requests. This has been an awful experience.
It is my observation, that TrustPilot is doing and saying everything they can to not refund the charge--a charge I did not authorize. I received what I would consider to be an aggressive, threatening email, that they will charge me interest if I don't pay back the payment that is in the chargeback process. Further, they continue sending what I would, again, call very aggressive and bullying emails stating they have the right to charge me going forward (though as they noted in their response, they have canceled future payments). I have made it clear, I cannot use their services. I want out of this relationship. I don't want to receive emails from their lawyers. I want my chargeback to be finalized as a refund and for future payments to be mutually agreed to be finished with. I beleive this to be a very reasonable request.

We were a customer of ********************** for our website. We had a bad financial year and decided to discontinue their service. Our card on file was no longer valid and they began to demand money for their service. We didn't want their service any longer and they didn't provide us with service as they disconnected us. They handed our account over to a debt collection firm even though no services were rendered on their part. Trust pilot is not trustworthy or credible. Tuesday, November 5, 2024 $597.08 I was told if I made the deposit to complete the tasks I would be able to finish and withdraw and that didn't happen. The job asked for "Each user needs to complete all the boosting before they can meet the system withdrawal requirements. In order to avoid any loss of funds, all withdrawals are processed automatically by the system and not manually. All users are not allowed to withdraw money in the middle of the day to avoid affecting the merchant's operation."I wanted to quit this entire assignment which means I wouldn't get paid or receive anything that my deposit went towards earning and I asked could I get my deposit back before quitting the task because I couldn't afford to deposit anything else and instead of getting an answer they first tried to tell me what I CAN earn but ignored me after that and now I can't contact them the way I was told too. It's like they have blocked any messages from me from coming in, it just loads. They basically are not trying to solve the issue when their terms and agreements clearly states "Users' funds are completely safe on the Platform and the Platform will be liable for any accidental loss." The response from Trustpilot to my BBB complaint only further confirms the gross negligence, strong unwillingness, and failure of Trustpilot to meet its obligations to my business. Over the past months, Trustpilot has not only ignored my legitimate concerns but has also severely damaged my business through its inaction.
To make matters worse, despite the ongoing unresolved issues, Trustpilot continues to bombard me with unwanted repeated sales emails. They aggressively push their paid plans, ranging from $269 to $1069 per month, even after I made it clear that I was not interested in.This relentless sales tactic shows that their primary interest lies not in providing genuine support to businesses but in profiting from my 10 negative fake reviews.
I have opened over 100 emails and 20 support tickets. The process to get the 10 fake negative reviews removed was incredibly time-consuming and stressful. It required constant pressure and persistent effort on my part, spanning over two months of back-and-forth communication, just to have these reviews—clearly designed to harm my business—removed. Despite this, the damage to my reputation and negative Google ranking remain. My sales have dropped by over 50% because Trustpilot has been unwilling to fulfill its obligations.
Trustpilot itself holds a poor BBB rating of 1.25, which speaks volumes about their own business practices. This clearly demonstrates their complete disregard for trust, fairness, and customer satisfaction—a reality that aligns with my own experiences in trying to resolve these issues.
As a result of Trustpilot’s deliberate inaction, I am prepared to take further legal steps to ensure that this matter is addressed. I have kept detailed records of all communications, support tickets, and interactions with Trustpilot, and I am fully prepared to submit this documentation in court. The severity of this situation cannot be overstated. Trustpilot’s disregard for the impact their actions have on small businesses like mine is not just unethical; it is potentially actionable in a court of law.

Trustpilot removes real reviews. I provided trustpilot with a receipt of my purchase. They are paid by the supplier to remove negative reviews that do not allow the consumers to get accurate feedback. For consumers that are unaware that trustpilot will remove negative reviews at the request of suppliers, they can be subject to receiving goods in poor quality. I took the time to share my experience to help other consumers that are in a similar situation to have the data they needed to make the risk of purchasing from a ******* supplier.I provided trustpilot with my direct correspondences with the supplier and the receipt of the order and they still insisted that I provided a fake review. It is a very bad practice and I think they receive financial incentives from these ******* companies in which can cause a great amount of turmoil for consumers.Trustpilot should provide more transparency regarding their policies for removing reviews. I had a bad experience with the Prop Firm "Goat Funded Trader". Essentially the $600+ product they sold me didn't work. And they refused to provide a refund. That review is here.*************************************************************************** But I also tried to leave a review on TrustPilot.*************************************************************** A few days after leaving my review, I got an email from them, saying my review was on hold because the vendor wanted more information on my specific case. I was completely aghast... This is a platform where a vendor can block bad reviews!Anyways, I did present my Order#, and details of the purchase. After some back and forth, TrustPilot against asked me for details of the purchase... As if they didn't read my response. Ultimately, they removed my bad review - which was really a warning to other customers. They could be paying for a defective product, for which they could not get a refund!Frankly it feels very corrupt. And I wouldn't be surprised if there's any collusion between TrustPilot and the vendors. But that's just speculation on my part. TrustPilot uses inaccurate information which is misleading to customers. In addition they do not provide clear and fair avenues to provide feedback regarding reviews. They target a specific business but do not properly do due diligence on the reviews to confirm accuracy. This includes reviews of businesses that are not related to the proper country origin of the business. Therefore customers believe they are raising concerns that can be addressed by a company but are not directed to the proper company/entity. Reviews of products are being made that are not sold in select country of the company. In addition this is a poor platform if false statements are being made and cannot be responded to. The full picture is not provided. This is misleading and needs to be corrected.Business Response

Dear BBB, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent handling of Trustpilot on our account. We have been using Trustpilot for over a year, committed to a $250 per month service, billed quarterly, totaling $750 every three months. Last month, I was unexpectedly charged $1,164a significant 35% increase from the previous rate. When I inquired about this change, I was informed that an email was sent on July 11, 2024, notifying us of an annual renewal and a price increase from $250 to $388 per month. Unfortunately, I never received this email. Furthermore, there were no additional attempts from ************************* to contact us. He could have easily sent a second or third email or called me to notify me of the change. However, he claims that the email sent on July 11th sufficed, even though it never reached my inbox. It is unacceptable that our plan was auto-renewed without explicit consent and that the price was increased by 35% without proper communication. This approach to business is not only unprofessional but also shows a blatant disregard for your customers. Today, on August 14, 2024, during a meeting with *************************, a representative from Trustpilot, it became clear that our concerns as a customer were not fully understood or appreciated. **************** showed little concern when we expressed our intention to leave the company next year if a resolution could not be reached.
