I submitted an *** closure request on 3/30/25. I was told within 5 business days someone would review it and let me know if it was good and that money would be deposited within 7 business days. It is now well past the 7th business day. I have received no follow up other than confirmation of receipt of my form sent on 3/30/25. I have tried multiple to call them and cannot reach anyone to talk to. I have emailed them multiple times and cannot get a response to my emails.Initial Complaint

I have tried to withdraw over $4000 from my ELLEVEST account, which was supposed to be processed in 3 business days. It has NOT been processed and says it is "upcoming." This is especially concerning as they are transferring all accounts to Betterment on April 17...Initial Complaint

On January 7, 2025 I requested rollovers of my traditional *** and **** *** accounts from SoFi to **********************. After more than a month of back and forth with Ellevest they could not complete the transactions. Meanwhile, I had deposited more than $7000 into Ellevest to establish my *** accounts. After they failed to complete the transfers, I decided I should use a different brokerage firm, and requested that they liquidate my accounts, return my money to me, and close my Ellevest account. I initiated the closure of my account on 2/24/2025. I was told the transfers and closure of my accounts would be done by 3/6/2025. It is 3/14/2025 and I'm still waiting for $7000 to be returned to me.Business Response

I have called numerous times just to be told no one is available to take my call and to leave a voicemail. Ive left two voices mails and have sent three emails to them. Im trying to resolve an issue with my transfer so I can close on my home and cancel my membership with Ellevest. It seems like since they have announced this deal with Betterment all of the employees have left the building and they no longer care about their existing customers.Business Response

Per IRS guidelines, I am supposed to receive my 1099 form by February 17, 2025. Communication from Ellevest after requested this item on March 1, 2025 has been "you will receive it by March 19, 2025". They are unwilling to provide me with my tax form.Business Response

Ellevest transferred all of my personal funds in an account i cannot access. I have been asking for over 3 weeks for them to transfer is back into an accessible account with zero help. They are holding over $4,000 of my money. I have sent countless emails with very few replies and no change to any account information. They have their phone number off now essentially just with a voicemail that no one replies or calls back. I am just trying to get my money back. I feel there is fraud due to the lack of responses and I am scared my money is gone. This all began when i tried to move my money from Ellevest to Robinhood. I have been trying to contact Ellevest regarding an account I opened in 2023, which has transferred $1,000 from my bank account each month to ************************* since its inception. However, when I log into my Ellevest account, it indicates that no active account exists.I have attempted to resolve this issue by both phone and email. My emails have only received automated responses, and when I call, I am placed on hold for five minutes before being sent to voicemail. I enrolled in Ellevests *********************** Planning Program for $3000 and was set to have my first meeting on 1/29/25. On 1/27 I decided to cancel my enrollment in the program due to a personal situation. According to Ellevests cancellation and refund policy, clients are entitled to a full refund if they cancel more than 24 hours in advance. When I emailed asking to cancel and receive a refund, they responded and said they needed to know why before they would issue a refund. In my opinion, my reason for cancellation is absolutely none of their business; however, I did let them know that it had nothing to do with Ellevest or their services. I then waited and heard nothing back from them so I reached out again (1/28) for a status update on my refund. Again I received no response so I emailed them on 1/29 and called their customer support line. I was on hold quite awhile and after being on hold, a message came on that said no one was available to take my call and to try again later. I left a voicemail and still have heard nothing. This company is holding $3000 of mine and refusing to refund me, or even respond to my emails, when my cancellation was well within the bounds of their policy.Business Response

I am unable to get this financial institution to close my account and refund my money. They appear to be a scam. I have been locked out of the account for more than a year with no resolution and no support. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and although they did not reach out to me to ensure that my account is closed, I received a check with no official documentation from the account so I dont know if they even sent me the correct amount. I would still like to receive the official documentation/statement from the account showing that it is closed. I do not have access to my online account so if they will send the information to me by mail I would appreciate that and the matter can be closed.
