  Squarespace needs to be investigated. I was a customer for 10 years who paid annually for an art and design portfolio site. In the beginning it was the best site builder for my needs but it was still hard to use their tools and customer service was not helpful unless you paid more fees for a "developer." Fast forward to today, I had my debit card replaced due to theft and missed an auto renewal payment for the first time. They canceled my plan and come to find out that legacy plans will not be available once canceled. In order to renew my website design and domain, I must pay twice what my original plan was. They are literally holding it hostage. As far as I know the company is completely run by automated systems. There is no phone number or direct communication with any human whatsoever while I am constantly directed to FAQ lists and statements about how they are right and I am wrong. It's a hard pill to swallow to lose my online portfolio and domain after the decade I wasted building it and sharing it across the country. DO NOT USE SQUARESPACE.

  SQUARESPACE IS A FULL BLOWN SCAM. Squarespace will show a cheap rate for a domain then post charges to your credit card that can not be changed. They will offer a 12 dollar domain charge then chare an addition 72 dollar charge. When you try to contact them, they send a disclaimer that they can only be contacted through their website. When you send emails to cancel, they send you endless email links to no where. Squarespace is a scam website that will hack you credit card.

  In my opinion, Squarespace is scamming innocent people out of their money. They have a predatory business model and no visible customer support. My husband wanted to set up a business and was advised by a friend to go with Squarespace. He used my credit card to set this site up. He didn't even ever get around to launching it, and was charged a full year's fee. Always a sore point. However it was something we let go. After a year, and to my surprise, I started losing very large sums of money on my credit card. When I checked, it was Squarespace collecting on a second year's worth of annual charges, without even checking with us, reminding us, or asking permission! In my country this is illegal. It is my credit card, and I never gave permission for my money to be spent on this company, certainly not after another year.However we were sure this was something they would be very willing to quickly sort out and reverse for us, especially since we hadn't even used/launched our website from the year before. It was clear that this was an error, and not us trying to get something for free. So we set about contacting them. This is where we ran into problems: they are not really contactable. They have no customer services phone number, no way to email them, and you can go through endless loops on their website trying to contact them. To this date, almost a year later, we have never been able to get our money back, which in our home currency, is a huge amount of money. I am hoping that writing a review here will trigger some kind of action from the company. Surely if their services/products are that good, they can make money out of people actually using their services/products, and not withhold money from people who did not intend to spend it.

  Squarespace is the worst company to deal with and seems to be running a money scam. I cancelled my subscription on May 3 and they are still charging me a monthly fee. They have zero customer service and expect everyone to understand there wording like we developed their site ourselves. There is no phone number and they will not let you speak to anyone to resolve anything that needs to be done or answered in a timely fashion. Their chat window is a joke, i was told they were connecting me to a human and when I asked for my refund they said they would transfer me to a human, 15 minutes later nobody. Absolute scam and they need to be penalized for this kind of business behavior, truly unbelievable that a company is allowed to operate in this fashion. Worst company in the world.

  I've managed multiple websites with Squarespace for almost 10 years. The new integration and functionality makes it very difficult to run an SEO optimized business. There's little effort for customer support, and my sites are penalized for load time and their inability to be mobile friendly.

  No phone number for customer service. Live chat online during 'business hours' as if the internet only works during a set time. My site is down and there is no one way to get help.

  I subscribed to Squarespace for the first time on April 29, 2023, in order to start an art and design website. I emailed with questions ahead of time, and was assured customer service would be available to answer any questions I had in setting up my site. I also purchased a domain name. Since subscribing, I have had nothing but trouble trying to design the pages of my site. When I emailed for help, I received short responses - most of the time not directly answering my questions - with several links to videos. Eventually, I figured out how to start a few pages, but put it aside for a bit, as I was so frustrated. Today, I tried to upload a logo and had nothing but trouble. I tried emailing with a question, as there is NO PHONE SUPPORT, and the email was kicked back saying they are not responding to that address anymore. No alternative. After searching with ****** (the link to "contact us" is not working on their site), I found a link to the page with another email. I sent my question and was given another, short, cryptic response and a bunch of links that I had already found and viewed. I am cancelling my account and will be asking for a refund. If that is not granted, I will be filing a formal complaint on this site, along with the many others who have. What a mistake! Never go with this company. It is a scam. Unfortunately, I cannot give zero stars or I would.

  Horrible place. They don't have a phone number and they took $20 from me. They need to fix that. If someone wants to delete their website then the whole Account should be gone and also the domain. They are awful. Not helping at all. Been on messenger with them for a while and they kept on telling me go on their website and I also can't log in from my ******* Whenever you guys do don't use squarespace

  Wrote numerous emails, chatted live, had others write. No one responds. They will initially respond to your first request by having you write another email *** film out a form (in my case it was to gain access to a deceased persons site with their familys approval of course). Then silence. No response to numerous emails asking for next steps or ETAs. The brother wrote 5 follow up emails, and me the same. Nothing gets resolved.

  The company I used to work at set up a website with Squarspace. My email address was the point of contact when prospective clients wanted to contact the company. I have since left the company about 4 1/2 years ago yet I still receive emails contacting me through the firm's website.I am only able to contact Squarespace by email. There is no phone number to reach Squarespace. Squarespace has yet to resolve the issue and has stopped responding to my emails. I have requested many times for a phone or zoom call to discuss how to resolve the issue - yet they refuse. Squarespace needs to develop a phone number to discuss elevated issues such as this.
