Nielsen reached out to me for a paid survey, which I completed. However, I have not received my payment. When I followed up about the money, they said it was on its way. Months have passed, and I still haven't received anything.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I reject this attempt because on February 21, 2025, I called Nielsen and spoke with **** about the missing $20.00 in cash. He informed me that I would have to wait three weeks to receive the amount. However, today is April 15, and I have not yet received the promised payment. When will Nielsen pay the money owed? If they do not, then this is a scam that needs to be reported.

My family filled out 4 books about what music we listen to and received a $40 check for doing it. I cashed it through my bank and found out today that the check bounced and I was charged a fee for said bounced check!!!Business Response

We recently returned from traveling for a couple of months and on November 1, 2024 we requested Dish network to setup our local channels per our account. We have been receiving *********** local stations since we moved to this address in **************************. So we were very surprised when we were told that based on our zip code *****, the same one we have been living at since account inception at this address we would be getting ****** Texas locals. We live about 30 minutes from *********** and about 90 minutes from ****** *****. We are concerned for our safety as the weather, alerts, traffic issues, etc. are being reported for ****** *****. When a freeze warning is issued for our area in the ************ we may not be aware of it as the weather in ****** is very different from the Hill Country.We contacted the *** after being told by Dish that the *** controls what locals we can watch. Dish has been very helpful, but after much research they are telling us that the *** is telling them the ****** stations are the ones we should be watching. And that the *** may be getting the information from your company, the Nielsen Company as to which local stations we should be watching. Based on something you call DMA, Designated Market Area.We are requesting that you review this practice and please find a way to allow Dish to once again give us access to the locals from *********** which have a lot more relevance to us. We dont visit ****** more than once a year and do not shop there. We shop the greater *********** area.Business Response

Nielsen produces Designated Market Areas (DMAs) that geographically standardize regions in the ********** for the purpose of measuring audience viewing for broadcast and cable television to create the Nielsen TV ratings. Following government regulations, satellite service providers do use Nielsens Designated Market Area (DMA) information to help them decide which local stations are included in their local broadcast service. However, Nielsen is not responsible for, or in any way involved in, those decisions, and the Nielsen DMA information used in those decisions is not even intended or designed to be used for these decisions.

Further the business states that they do not dictate to the service provider how to use the *** information nor dictate which local stations are to be provided based on this data. I will now make a complaint to the service provider indicating to them what the ********************** has stated. Hopefully we can result this at that time.

My family and I completed 3 of the Radio Surveys that took a considerable amount of effort to do the right way. We were told we would receive compensation for our time. We did not. I feel it is up to the consumers of products and the participants of these surveys to warn others when we are lied to. I have always heard Nielsen was a reputable company and was very disappointed to find out that they apparently no longer keep their word. My time is a valuable asset as are others time. Dont waste it with empty promises. That time could have been spent actually earning money to help out less fortunate.Business Response

I agreed to complete a radio station survey. They mailed me a small box with all instructions to complete. I received several phone calls from ******* making sure I got the survey packet and to be sure and return it by Thursday Oct *******. I completed and returned on 10/10/24. They made sure to tell me I would not receive payment if it was late. Not sure they took into consideration **** had a holiday 10/14/24, with mail not circulating. Nielsen Market Research I received an invitation from this company in July of this year for me to participate in their surveys. I received their equipment and I also spoke to one of their representatives about how to set up their equipment. The representative also explained the weekly incentives and bonuses I would receive for the points earned over the weekly amount. I earned over the weekly amount for August 2024 (which they say that they never received my points for. I am including the months dates and year 2024.August week 1 (406) week 2 (736) week 3 (829) week 4 (719)September week 1 (701) week 2 (782) week 3 (706) week 4 (685)October week 1 (749) week 2 (769) week 3 (788)This is the second time that I have had to contact them about this issue. I was told by the representative that weekly anything over 600 points I would receive a bonus. I have not received anything. In addition for October dates *****, I would receive an additional 60 points a day for every day I wore my meter. Nielsen offers you super deals during your tasks and you put money in to purchase the super deals and then you get your money back plus a comission. collect it. They are refusing to give me my money.
