1 starWhile they claim to be the best builders in ****, this is based entirely on their perception...not the home buyers in my opinion. Their ability to control their vendors and facilitate communication across the board is horrendous. Their quality control is almost non-existent, and while many many neighbors around us are having the same issues even after giving them our money and satisfying all obligations as a buyer, they do not ensure their statements in satisfaction and ease of creating a Home. Rather weeks after closing we among others are fighting to get what we expected and what we paid for, to include: paint, completion of a master bath that cant be used almost a month after moving in, irrigation that was paid for, landscape that was paid for, grass and repair of items that were damaged/broken before we even closed on the property. While the neighborhood is awesome the experience and overall relationships throughout this process are what one would not expect from "the best builders in ****" and for one that the buyers put in over 150 thousand dollars in upgrades and structural additions. If you love the neighborhood and are building with MI, in my opinion...do not trust that they are doing the best for you rather check, double check and get everything in writing and never use verbal agreements. And expect to be delayed in completion of your home.Review fromMatt A

1 starIm very disappointed in the craftsmanship and finishing. For what their homes cost you would think that they would do top notch work but the longer I live in the home the more disappointed I get.Heres a short list off the top of my head: trim work throughout the house looks like a toddler installed it, the drywall work is the worst Ive seen in the six homes Ive owned, hollow spots beneath the floor tile can be heard while walking around, our driveway looks like its been through an earthquake, the cabinets are one notch below ikea, doors dont line up and dont latch properly. Unless you have the time to babysit them throughout the entire build I would find a better builder, one that cares about quality instead of quantity and pays attention to fit and finish. They responded to a Googlereview but refused to make any corrections to the shoddy work because we arent the original owners.Review fromJoe H

1 starI applied for MI homes a week ago. I asked about my application with my information and ************************* replies that he has no idea what I'm talking about. It would help if employees would do there due diligence and just use the search feature in VIP, Homesite or whatever platform he uses instead of looking lost and unprofessional. My information getting lost is a BIG DEAL to me.Review fromDawit T.

1 starPurchased a house from MI homes a year ago. We had a problem with garage door at the time of move in. We notified MI homes about the garage door issue. They directed us to the contractor who installed the door. The contractor came the first time and did some work but the door wasnt fixed. It kept making loud noise when in operational, as if it was going to crush. Sent a second request again. They sent a technician for the second time. The technician confirmed that the door was incorrectly installed and apparently did some repair. The issue with the door continued. Recently we had an incident with the same door, suddenly crushing into the ground. Safety future of the garage system failed. Kids were playing nearby. Kids bike was crushed. This was a serious near miss that could have resulted in serious injury or death. Notified MI homes again but this time, they didnt want to do anything. We were told to work with our insurance agency to recover for repair cost. They didnt event bother to followup and investigate what really happened given the seriousness of the incident. Profit over safety. Bad business practice. We did hire a third party garage expert after the incident and confirmed this was due to faulty installation. We are pursuing avenues to hold them accountable. Do your due diligence. Hire the best home inspectors even if its a new build. We made a mistake not having a garage door inspector inspect after first repair.Review fromglenn b

1 starAfter the purchase contract is made, M/I financials doesn't care about the buyer issues. They are rigid and adamant about giving us closing dates. During the time of writing this review the market mortgage interest rates are not stable and I had rate lock with a lender at good rates but bound to a date after which the rate expiries. After that I have to lose a lot of money. I requested the builder to provide me a solid date and they always say there is no fixed date and the date is tentative and may change. At this time I'm approx. 45 days before the end of August. If they can then M/I can give me solid date which helps me a lot on negotiating with my lender. I'm asking a reasonable request and no one from company is willing to respond to this. I paid 10% down and can't back off other wise I'll lose my deposit and at the same time if go according their time lines I'll still lose a lot of money in high interest rates. Buyers have be aware on this.Review fromB B H.

1 starM/I homes is not worthy of one star. They will cut every corner possible in building your home. Then make getting things fixed under the "warranty" so stressful in hopes you will give up. We have had so many issues with our home that it has been the most miserable experience ever. Not one room does not have flaws and issues, and after repeatedly trying to get resolution was told we dont build perfect homes. Im not looking for perfect, but I do expect doors to close and be straight, walls to not look like a blind person dry walled them and corners that are square. The sales people are not honeat, the construction manager never gets out of his truck to actually monitor the process and quality and warranty is an absolute joke. DO NOT BUILD OR PURCHASE A HOME FROM M/I.Review fromTerri P

1 starThey say they stand behind their work but they DO NOT. Buyer beware. Once they have your money good luck getting anyone to reply/respond when you contact them about warranty items. The list was long, including major concrete issues with our driveway and front walk (sinking walkway to the porch; driveway sunk on one side causing cracks. It took months of pushing, pictures and escalations all the way up to the president of the company before they would do anything about it. We are in a our newly constructed home for 1.5 years and are now shelling out money for roof repairs because of shoddy workmanship that resulted in a leak around a vent pipe that has been seeping for awhile when it rains because "the boot was installed incorrectly". We identified it was a problem when we returned from vacation with water spots and mildew on our bedroom cathedral ceiling. The roofer found several areas of concern related to workmanship and will take care of all of them for us to mitigate future problems. Shingle warranty is 15 years but the roof warranty was a a year, so the repairs for the poor workmanship are on us.Review fromRichard K

1 starGreat process until the home was built and moved into. ************* doesn't care. Many issues with several remaining unresolved. Major drainage issue caused by improper grading took 12 months to get resolved. No one in management seems concerned. Poor communication and stonewalling to try and get you frustrated.************* rep ***** has repeatedly lied to me, my wife and neighbors. Indicating many issues would be resolved at the 1 year walk through. There is NO 1 year walk through.I won't be buying an MI home again. If you are considering a home with MI, pick another company.Review fromScott S

1 starMI Homes does not finish their communities. As soon as they finish building houses, they do not come back and finish the common areas. The common area behind our street was never graded properly and is full of construction debris and weeds.
