      On Nov 19, 2023 I placed an order for 3 StopWatt units. The company claimed they would reduce my electricity usage by increased efficiency. They also claimed that you can CANCEL your order prior to shipment. After placing the order a message appeared on the website that "my order was confirmed". They did not send me an email receipt, order #, or tracking number, so I became suspicious. I checked for complaints on the BBB website and found a lot of them which stated the product did not work and that the advertisement was fraudulent and that their money was not refunded upon request. About 1 hour after placing the order, I sent an email to the email address they provided for their service department requesting that my order be cancelled and that my credit card not be charged. I did not received a return message confirming my request.

           Ms. ******* contacted our office regarding her concerns. We regret any confusion that may have taken place. Ms. *******’s account has been refunded in full $133.44. The account has been closed and no additional activity will take place.

         Before receiving the complaint from your office, we were unaware Ms. ******* was unsatisfied with the resolution she received from customer service on 11/19/2023. At that time, customer service processed a full refund of $133.44 at Ms. *******’s request. We notified Ms. ******* by email and she did not indicate any further concerns. If Ms. ******* needed further assistance, we regret that she did not feel comfortable contacting us again.

      On 10/23 we placed an order for stopwatt. Ordered 2 total of $93.26 including shipping. They claimed to be sending us plug-in units that would help lower our electricity usage. We later learned that this was a scam and our bill did not go down as promised. After contacting them to return items for refund. They claimed if returned in 60 days you would get a refund. Upon trying to return the items they said I had two choices option 1 - return items with rma#. They will then enter the refund in 7-10 business days. Then could take 25-30 days for it to process through our financial institution. Or #2 no need to return and they will refund $42.15. After reading others comments on here, I see that many had issues with option #2. So we went for option #1 but believe that we should get 100% back due to this scam! Order #53075E2EC6. Under Mark *******. The ad was seen on Facebook with a claim that it was in partnership with Elon Musk and they also claimed that we would get a free unit. That they later claimed they had no idea about that ad.

          When marketing online we have found reviews that love us and reviews that do not. If you are a customer of ours, we will always make it right! Like most products Stop Watt works differently for each customer. We regret that Ms. **** did not give our product a try at helping to reduce her energy consumption.

          In the interest of 100% customer satisfaction Ms. ****’s orders have been canceled and we have refunded the total amount of $134.88. Before receiving the complaint from your office, we were unaware that Ms. **** had any concerns as she never contacted our office.

        Ms. ****’s account is closed, there is no remaining balance, and she can keep any product that she has.

      The transaction was made on 11/10/2023. Money was charged ($117.99) was charged to my credit card 3 times. The device they advertised was to lower electric bill by maintaining a steady flow of electricity through the lines. Follow up shows that it is a scam operation. When I called the company denied that it was their web site. I also emailed the company at hello@stopwatt. no response from company. I was not given a account number or tracking number. They also did the same to my husband and said they can't send to devise; it has the wrong zip code. the ad was on the internet. Contacted the FTC who recommended contacting you.

      This company took advantage of my elderly parent by selling them a useless product. I am an electrical engineer and have examined the product that does absolutely nothing other than light up a green light when plugged in, even though this company claims it will cut power bills by 40 percent. Website further claims that all of the homes energy is routed through this device, which cannot happen with a single plug in device and would be exceptionally dangerous if it did. Marketing practises were fraudulent, deceptive and designed to entrap the elderly.

This electricity savings sham uses deceptive marketing strategies to trick consumers, including: Slick website loaded with fake reviews Social media ads promoting unbelievable claims TikTok and YouTube videos of “satisfied” customers Fake endorsements by celebrities like Elon Musk News reports on scam websites that look like CNN, ABC, Fox News The Stop Watt scammers combine these persuasive tactics to give the impression their product is a cutting-edge, proven technology for reducing electric bills.
