My daughter was a patient at Columbus Springs Dublin from around December 22 through March 23. She was in their outpatient program and attended treatment daily.
I applied for a financial need credit and was told it was approved for a 60% discount off our two pending bills. I am a single mother, her father died when she was a baby. I called in and spoke to a billing agent, we went over the bill and she told me the total that would be due once the credit was applied and I paid that amount in full.
I continued to receive bills and called in at least a dozen times over the course of the last 6 months. Every time I called I usually spoke to a different agent, but they would all tell me NOT to pay the balance due because there was a credit pending. One agent actually told me I overpaid.
I also repeatedly called the provider and they told me the same. I emailed them in October, which is attached and have yet to receive a response. The bills turned into letters threatening collections. I was told that "just to ignore" those by billing agents. They said anyone who opened my account would clearly see many phone calls and communications, as well as the pending credit.
I then received a collection letter from a third party. I have sent the third party a response with what is going on as well as a copy of the e-mail telling me once the credit is applied that my balance would be paid in full. However, I have not received a reply from them yet, and I still have not received a return call from Columbus Springs Dublin or a reply to my e-mail from them.
The worst thing you can do is ignore a customer! I have called recently at least 6 times with no return call. This is especially frustrating because my daughter enjoyed her time at their facility and the treatment, but this billing issue been an absolute nightmare and nobody will communicate now.
I want them to APPLY the credits that have been pending for months!! This should pay the bill in full based on what I was told repeatedly.
