For some time, I believed Synchrony Bank was an ethical financial institution, however that opinion has changed. Consumer Financial Protection Bueau, CFPB, has done little to nothing to investigate what I believe to be illegal processes. I have had three acounts with Synchrony - one no interest account opened for financing on my HVAC system which was paid in full prior to due date and two credit cards which have never been in arrears. I entered into a debt relief program has summer and Synchrony Bank arbitrarily closed both credit cards for no legitimate reason. Communication mailed to Syncrony Board of Directors in January 2025 did not receive courtesy of a response. I would encourage individuals avoid contracting with this financial institution. In researching information, I found the following: class action lawsuits for violating New York usury laws, increasing interest rates credit card balances when veterans leave active duty, mismanaged promotion purchases, data breach, pre-recorded calls, and Walmart ending its partnership with Synchrony in 2019. I firmly believe the most recent credit card closed for no reason was done due to filing CFPB complaint on their applying interest to charges not invoiced.

Horrible loan company. They are deceiving. Mess up your credit. Change the rules as they go. Will turn them over to federal trade commission. DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE LIKE THE WORST ONES YOU CAN USE.

I put $1000 down on a $5000 loan at 0% for 12 months. They also did an auto draft amount I wanna take every month they took less and less every month so then when the 0% interest was up, I got hit with a whole of interest. When I called back They claimed I didn’t put $1000 down and they denied it multiple times, until I went to my bank and found proof that I had paid the $1000 down after I told them I had proof and that I would be turning them into the BBB. They claimed they couldn’t see it my account. Which was the most unethical business practice I’ve ever experienced! I called in and paid off the entire balance in full and clarified over the phone with the person that that was the entire balance, including the full interest three times and got a confirmation number then the next month, I realized I had a $67 interest charge on my account. I called back to clarify that this was a mistake, And notified them that I clarified this over the phone with the last person multiple times and they told me that is not the case. I didn’t feel like I had a choice on paying the $67 because then they would just hit me with interest the next month so I paid the $67. I am leaving this complaint on March 14, 2025 just so if they try to charge me more after this point. also, throughout this whole process, I spoke to a total of probably 12 employees for a total of three hours and none of them left notes on the account. I have never missed or been late on payment or needed to pay interest on anything before in my life!! STAY CLEAR of this company!!

This review is for Care Credit. I would love to give them a - (negative)1000% rating! They are horrible. Their Customer Service is horrible. For instance, I have my payments scheduled on a certain day. For three consecutive months, they did fine. Fourth month rolls around and I get a text message my payment is 3 days late. I have had to set up payments three times for them to get it right. So, I call them to see what is up, and they give me the run around, and nobody speaks English! I usually will give people and companies the benefit of the doubt, when it comes to customer service. But they stink at Customer Service! I do not ever want to deal with them again. They were a last resort so I could pay by dog's final pet bill for being put to sleep. I was hoping they would be a little understanding. But they were horrible from the get go! Since i have to leave a star, they will get just 1! Too bad it cannot be a -(negative) star rating!

I have spent endless hours over the past year or two calling synchrony or Care Credit customer service over the bill that I had for my sick dog. And I would make large payments to them whatever they told me. They would tell me to call back in three or four weeks and have that payment reallocated to the expiring promotions to avoid interest. So every month I would do that and every month I would get interest charges and somewhere $150. I would then call back and have to argue and fight with them to try to get the interest charges removed because nobody reallocated the money properly this has been nothing but a nightmare to me and now that my dog has passed away in September of 2024 I have been trying to get them to remove all of the late fees and interest charges so I can pay this off and it has been nothing but a headache. And I paid them $2,400 in December and I still got interest charges and late fees and I just spoke to them twice today and last week and I can't get anywhere with them and I am just very very frustrated with them. And I told them to pull my records from how many times I have called them over the past year or two and to review it and they just argue with me and they will not wave charges of interest for me so I can get this account paid off. I feel that this is just such a scam for people that are having some type of a hardship and can't afford the bills that are medical or dental for them self or their pets or loved ones and they give you nothing but grief at CareCredit.

Trying to pay off your credit card bill I closed because of someone else use the card and they wouldn't help fix the charges and they tell you that your checking account don't exist but they us the same credit card the month before they do it so they can add more interest monthly

I am furious!!!! Just paid off my 4 year Amazon card in full. No late payments, always paid more than the minimum. Awakened this morning to see my credit limit was reduced to $100. What, you can’t handle that you won’t be getting paid interest from me anymore?? That’s what it appears although they gave me some bogus reasons. Just as quickly as you reduced my credit limit should be as quickly as you should report the payment to all 3 credit bureaus so my credit card utilization goes beyond 30% so that my credit score improves but we know that is not going to happen! It will take months!!! I know now to ask who is the bank or company behind the credit card. Synchrony bank will not get any business from me ever again. It is a lone shark business!!!

Horrible service and I keep getting talked in circles. Heard a kid blowing a whistle in the background of my service call. Started charging me "fees" 3 months ago. When I asked why I was only getting a call after they wanted to charge me $80 extra, I was told that they had sent me a letter and the information was on my statements. Crap customer service. One supervisor one level above the call representative told me I couldn't talk to his manager about the issue. The 3 call, and 5th person was a supervisor that was going to transfer me to their manager, which never happened. They closed and disconnected me. If you are thinking about using them, DON'T!

O stars. I had a MC with TJ Maxx through them with a $400 credit limit. I paid it in full every month and I was never late. Today I found out they lowered my credit limit to $100. They claimed it was because I had to many other accounts with high balances which is false. Even if I had what difference did it make since I was an excellent customer. I called them and told them to close the account and that I would not be shopping at TJ Maxx or any of their other associate stores again. They will put all their companies out of business. I hope they all get smart and go with another credit company.

Horrible customer service. I was approved about a year ago for a $7,000.00 limit with no change to my credit profile since approved. I used the credit amount and paid it off within six months so I did not have to pay interest. I find this ironic considering they had to previously pay a large lawsuit for charging customers interest on Care Credit cards before they were legally allowed to under the terms and conditions. So instead of this they decide to close accounts paid in full that they do not make money from in life long interest with no legitimate explanation.
