June 2021, I called Pippin ***** to clear blockage in sewer lateral line at **** ******. Lateral runs from house across backyard to alley north where it taps into city main.I had already rented a 100' snake from ARA Rentals &determined the obstruction was over 100' from house.Because distance to alley is barely 100', indicated blockage where lateral taps into city main. Pippin sent plumber****** who broke the lateral line &installed two cleanouts above-grade in backyard @ their convenience (to limit distance between cleanouts to less than 50 ft). Although I requested photographs to show work, none were taken.I had made Pippin aware of the fact that I had rented & used a 100' snake PRIOR to their arrival&that I was calling them because the problem had to be in the alleyway. ****** used area where I dug out initially as place to install cleanout in backyard because Icouldpinpoint exactly where my line was.When I returned, "A" said he was finished. I asked again about photos &he said then that they dont do that; he &his crew laughed it off.I asked several times to confirm obstruction had been eliminated. "A" repeatedly assured me that he had cleared the line and when they fixed the break and put the new clean-out in the back yard that the line had cleared because they opened up the pipe. I pd. invoicedated 6-5-2021, $2265.94. It shows ******s note he installed cleanouts &cleared the line.Aug. 01, *************** in house overflowed &flooded house. Icalled Pippinwho dispatched their best &most experienced plumber for emergency.Diagnosis was lateralclogged where taps into city line -exactlyas I told them in initial call.They backhoe out to dig.Again, I was not provided photos of work prior to filling hole in.After repair Aug., I asked for owner of PB to call me &arrangemeeting to discuss concerns about situation.Instead of calling me to have a reasonable discussion about the new invoice for $1669.00, Pippin has chosen ignore my concernsBusiness response

We are currently meeting with the customer on 11/01/2021. We also have some misinformation about her being the homeowner, so working on resolving that issue as well. We can update you once the meeting has concluded.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: There is nothing of substance to it.The person sent to the meeting on behalf of the company had no first hand knowledge of anything that had taken place nor was he even an employee at Pippin Brothers during the repairs and was not willing to hear that the plumbers involved in June did NOT take care of the initial problem for which they were called.

We will credit the account for the second repair for $1969. We do not believe that is fair, but will walk away to resolve the matter. We should not have been at this house since **************** misrepresented herself. We were NOT dealing with the homeowner. We will credit the account and no longer do work for **************** or *********, ****** at any address.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.As the lease holder of the house, I handle all repairs and maintenance of the house. I NEVER claimed to own the house nor misrepresented myself in any manner.
Furthermore, it is certainly my intention NEVER to hire Pippin Brothers for any work in the future and I'm sure my brother feels the same way! LOL
Pippin Brothers is well aware that ****** NEVER dealt with the initial clog in the alleyway. They know this and that is actually why they are not pursuing this further.
It is also why they did NOT have ****** at the meeting. They KNOW he did not do his job. If they believed he had "cleared the line", he would have been at the meeting to state that.Pippin' Brothers is at fault for this problem and trying to push the blame onto me is ridiculous. If they look at their records, they will see that my brother paid the first invoice in June.
I acted 100% on his authorization and within my duties as the lease holder.
It would be more productive for Pippin Brothers to use this situation as a training tool for their people such as ****** who don't fully do the job for which they have been hired.
