I had wanted to be able to operate a 3-wheeled vehicle and was told that I needed to take the basic rider course. I signed up to take that class May 3-5. During this class I was told that I only needed the knowledge portion of the class, which I could take at any Oregon DMV. My instructor did suggest that I sign up for the May 11, 3-wheeled course to see if I liked riding them. I sent Team Oregon a memo on their contact form Saturday evening May 4th, telling/asking them that my husband and I wanted to sign up for the class, but wanted to know if we needed to sign up right then paying full price or could we wait until Tuesday after getting a promo code from Procaliber of Bend to help pay for the class. I would do whatever would hold our place in the class. *************************** responded on Monday and told me that we could register on Tuesday with the promo code. The promo code is a limited time and is $100 off per person. On Tuesday when I called Team Oregon about registering for the class I spoke with a ****** who told me the class was cancelled due to the fact that no one had registered. I explained that I had contacted Team Oregon over the weekend trying to register & the response I had rec'd. ****** reached out to her manager ************************** who had the ability to have the class take place by chose to to rely on the statement that things were mis-communicated and not handled well, but would have the class as they had told us they would. These classes are for safety and he would rather have riders on the streets without taking classes then to keep the scheduled classes and follow what his staff has directed to riders. From past reviews it seems like Team Oregon might need to have more Team meetings and better follow through. I will not be able to take the other 3-wheeled classes this year, so I will be going without instruction.

On March 24th my husband, *****, and I paid? $229 x 2 for a motorcycle riding class. ?We showed up for the class on the morning of May 20th and discovered that it was the wrong class. It was the beginner's class, which I had taken the year before. The instructors advised that day one of the class was the beginners instruction and day two of the class would cover the same instruction as the intermediate class. They asked how much we paid and when we told them it was $229 per person they advised that the intermediate class cost less than that and because of that we may be better off contacting Team Oregon the following week, when they were opened again to get things worked out. ??My husband and I left feeling silly for having signed up for the wrong class but grateful that they were willing to work with us. I called Team Oregon the next week and spoke with someone who said they could not just reschedule us and asked that my husband and I each write in about what had happened. We both did this. We received a reply that there was nothing they would/could do for us. They did not acknowledge that we were lead to believe something completely different by folks from their own organization. When we replied and advised then we should have not been advised otherwise. Their reply was that they talked to the instructors and they didn't promise. They said we could pay again, half off and take their class. We already paid and at this point I no longer trust this business. When registering for a Team Oregon course, students are required to acknowledge the cancellation and reschedule policy, which states, "You are paying for a reserved seat in a course. There are no refunds or reschedules once the course begins. Students who arrive late or without proper gear will be dismissed without refund or option to reschedule. Additional courses will require registration and payment online. To cancel and receive a full refund or reschedule at no charge you must contact Team Oregon at least 3 days prior to the first session.".Confirmations are sent to all students that include this information and details about the course. The students acknowledged in their request to reschedule that they realized prior to attending the course that they registered for the incorrect training and just assumed they could show up and switch courses, disregarding the notice required to reschedule the course. When their dispute was received, the instructors were contacted to clarify if any promise or guarantee of a reschedule was given. The instructors confirmed that per policy, they informed the students they are unable to make decisions about registration and they would need to contact the office.

Team Oregon is a not-for-profit organization, who relies on student tuition to cover the cost of the course. It is crucial that we work to fill scheduled courses. A registration holds a seat in the course and prevents others from that seat. The cancellation/reschedule policy is in place to help ensure that registered seats are used and paid for. In this situation, the students acknowledged they signed up for the wrong course, chose not to contact the office prior, when we would have been able to assist in a reschedule, and caused the course to run with two unfilled seats.

While upholding policy, our organization does understand the cost burden of registering for a second course, especially when two individuals are involved. With that the students were offered a discount on one of the two registrations to ease that burden, which they have as of today chosen not to take advantage off. Like other courses, events or tickets that are purchased,if you can't attend you are still obligated to the cost. While we do apologies the students feel there was a misunderstanding, we have done our due diligence to make sure the students are given all course and policy information prior to the course and require students take responsibility to review and follow those requirements.

      Thank you for your understanding.

I am rejecting this response because: Team Oregon refuses to acknowledge and take accountability for the information and direction that was given by their representatives on the morning of the course that we did show up for.

      Sincerely,
