My primary doctor was excella health norwin, I got my blood work done at the same location.I had to have an allergy test done before I could see a specialist so I asked them at the blood work center how much my total would be total before insurance. They told me with my basic screen, *********, and my allergy test it would be $200-$250 with no insurance. Fast forward 7 months later, I get a bill in the mail saying FINAL notice without receiving anything prior saying they charged my insurance almost $700!!!! My bill was then $270. When I called to ask what happened they told me that I shouldnt have been quoted because they dont know what theyre going to charge until the blood is screened? Super sketchy if you ask me. Go somewhere else, they will lie to you about charges to get more money. I canceled all my future appointments and plan to go elsewhere for all my medical needs.

The billing department never returns calls, and they are unable to give a correct bill when you visit any of their offices. They are health business, not health care.

I had five months of billing headaches with the Excela Health System after having completed an outpatient medical procedure. I have received excellent care from Excela for almost fifteen years, but feel compelled to warn people about one particular billing practice in particular. For example, I received a bill of $8.51 on November 11, 2022 that covered a recent Office visit on October 11th with my PCP and one earlier in the year that I had not been billed for. That was fine with me so I wrote and mailed in the check. The check was processed by my bank three days later.Around December 5, 2022, another bill of $6.28 (***** days past due) was received for the October visit. I called and explained to the customer rep that the amount in question was already paid for. I even asked for the mailing address to send a copy of the check and prior bill. I mailed a copy that day.On January 18, 2023, spoke to another rep about receiving another bill of $6.28 (***** days past due). I explained the billing for the two appointments and how I had mailed in a copy of the check. I was told the money was credited to another account and that it was corrected. On February 21,2023, I received a statement dated February 6, 2023 stating FINAL NOTICE of $6.28. I called and asked why this was happening. Finally, someone told me that the original $6.28 was applied to a service on 9/28/2021 that I had not paid for.I had never received a bill for the 2021 appointment and certainly no follow up bills like this current nightmare. It turned out that it was another office visit with my PCP. If Excela Health is going to try to collect on the outstanding balance, wouldn't it have made more sense to mail me a bill for the correct service I needed to pay for? And not the one I had already paid for with inaccurate, misleading itemized services listed on the back?My situation is settled for now. Save your insurance records and keep track of what you owe.

Excela Frick Hospital in Mt Pleasant, PA has turned a bill over to collections that was paid months ago. I have had several conversations with them by phone for three months telling them that the bill was paid and their bank cashed the check on October 2021. In January 2022 Excela sent the bill to collections. I have copies of the check that was cashed in October 2021. No one will listen to me. They even hung up on me three times.

Excela Health went through a billing system change from one out-sourced vendor to a different one. In the process they did not apply several payments for a medical procedure. I called, I emailed I sent copies showing that I paid the bills using an HSA credit card. They told me they would check into, several months go by and hear nothing. I email them and ask no response for several more months. Finally, the respond and tell me that the invoice is considered Paid in Full. I asked for a copy of the **** showing $0 Balance. No response. Today after OVER a YEAR of dealing with this I get a notice from a collection agency. They sent a $40 invoice to a collection agency. Tried calling them, they told me once it's in collection there is little they can do. Why do I feel like they could make $100,000 of dollars a year from patients doing this type of thing?
