I'm depressed and suicidal after dealing with the unauthorized use of my personal information. Which resulted in this unauthorized item on my credit report. I sent letters over 30 days ago and they failed to get back with me with sufficient validation. This account violates the FDCPA and must be deleted immediately because those are serious violations and I could be compensated for them.

I checked my credit report and noticed I had a collection from PENN CREDIT CORPORATIO that was opened in 09/01/2017 for $0.00 with account number starting in ***************** that I do not recall and am not liable for. I never entered into a signed agreement or completed an original contract with them. This is fraudulent and a violation of my rights. This inaccurate collection is not mine. If you believe this account is mine, prove the validity. I would like all collection activity to cease immediately and for this inaccurate and fraudulent collection to be removed from my credit report or I will file for litigation and report you to the CFPB  and FTC.

On September 2, 2022, I received a credit reporting alert indicating a new collections account with a $207 balance from Penn Credit (account *****************). To my surprise, the original creditor was a utility provider for a previous address where I have not lived in over than a year. The billing periods were dated after the termination of my lease agreement on August 1, 2021. I had attempted to cancel service when after I moved out on June 27, 2021 but was informed that this was the landlords responsibility. I notified the landlord of this in writing, and I received no electronic or mailed communication of any bills after the term of my lease. As show of good faith, I paid all outstanding bills in full with the original creditor immediately after discovering their delinquency, even though they occurred after the end of my lease, and began making efforts to understand how this situation happened and to correct it. On the date of the credit alert and subsequent payment, Penn Credit had not provided me with notice of collections, and had failed to contact me before reporting this collection, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Moreover, they failed to leave a limited-content message as required by CFPB Debt Collection rule under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. My employment and livelihood relies on maintaining an active security clearance. Collections accounts can jeopardize my standing with the US government, which directly affects my employment. If Penn Credit had performed their due diligence to make contact with me before reporting this, I would have resolved this matter with them in the same fashion. With this in mind, I am requesting that Penn Credit immediately issue a deletion of this account from my credit report given the reporting violations in these circumstances, as I was given zero notice or opportunity to resolve this matter before reporting. If necessary, I will exercise my rights under the FCRA  and FDCPA to resolve this.

Penn Credit Corporation mailed ***************** a validation notice to the address provided by the original creditor.  This was mailed on July 25,2022.  This notice was mailed one month prior to reporting this account to the credit bureaus.   We did not receive notification of a mail return from the post office.

I have provided this payment information repeatedly to ***. and I filed with Bbb and provided information. These people are nasty, hateful and rude. They do not care if you have proof of payment they continue to put this on my credit. I would like to seek damages against them if they dont stop immediately. This account is paid as my proof shows. This should never come to this. How many times do I need to provide the proof of payment. Why are they allowed to continue to attack me though my credit report. Thy are putting false information on my report. I would like them ti acknowledge they are harrasing me and remove this false information from my credit report immediately.

THE CONTACT PERSON IS ON THE INFORMATION   It was taken in March 2022 BEFORE Penn put it on my credit. I want it to be permanently removed as I have proven payment on this account. Penn Credit Corporation is attempting to fraudulently obtain an unconfirmed and unsolicitated payment on my behalf. I recieved their letter of outstanding payment in which I have never authorized or have any legal contacts or obligation with Penn Credit Corp. As I don't recall this account, I mailed a request to obtain a signed contract or agreement with said company, payment history to review and confirm alleged debt in an attempt to resolve this matter. However I was mailed a communication if an attempt to collect, processed dispute and verification letter and summary page from *** in the amount of $1152.66. Upon reviewing the documents, I identified some issues of concern which would indicate misleading information and fraudulent attempt to extort a payment. First, My billing period is only 6 days (5/12/21-5/17/21). Second, I seem to me that my account number appears larger and fonts does not match over font. I believe this information added to a template by this company through means of copy and paste. They have complied to the stand of law set by The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I'm requesting, your office look into this matter and the over practices of Penn credit Corporation. Please see attachment below.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
