They have no idea what good customer service is.I was repeatedly lied too, when you call most of them have no idea how to assist you. They obviously hire people and train them poorly.I am cancelling my insurance with them and I would advice anyone not to sign up with them. They denie any and all claims they are literally stealing money.

The list of "in-network" providers on the website is inaccurate. So you log in to your insurance plan to find an "in-network" doctor and then get a bill from a claim processed as out-of-network". When you call to fix it, they "reprocess" the claim without changing anything about what is owed or communicating with members about claim status. I would absolutely NEVER recommend Cigna to anyone who needs to see a doctor on an annual basis, especially if you are not a billionaire.

Dealing with this company is absolute torture. I can't even count the amount of hours I've now wasted on the phone with their useless customer service reps fighting for money that is owed to me. It's literally become my part time job to keep an eye out for invalid bills from them and then call them to rectify. On the phone, they claim to do things and then tell you "call back in a couple weeks"... Well then when you follow up, you have to start all over because they never did what they said they'd do! I went to the *in network* doctor and forgot my new insurance card, I paid out of pocket and figured it would be easy to just have them reimburse me after the fact. This happened on August 27th.... IT'S NOW DECEMBER 11th and nobody has any answers for me. This is wild. I've been with several insurance companies in my life and I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life. Every single doctor and dental visit I've had since becoming a member of this company has had a billing issue. This week, I'm dealing with $150 that was auto-billed for a doctor visit I had a month ago because Cigna *accidentally* thought they were out of network when they were IN NETWORK. I've gone to this same doctors office several times before... How does an accident like this happen? This is remedial level work. Now I have to wait weeks to get my $150 back, for absolutely no reason, and thankfully I pay attention to this stuff because I'm sure so many people lose track and/or are too elderly to notice/rectify their billing issues!!! I hate this company so much.

Just about the worst health insurance you could have. They are absolutely atrocious. In fact there should probably be an antitrust lawsuit filed against them for their horrible business practices. This company denies or mishandles virtually every medical claim they get. Their website is almost unusable and their customer service representatives are incompetent.

I had to give them a star to do this report otherwise it would be zero. I have had united healthcare and blue shield and never had issues with any of my prescriptions. I changed jobs and got Cigna health and so far they haven’t covered any prescriptions and lost paperwork from my Dr’s office and they are asking me to get the form refilled out even though my Dr already did it. Horrible insurance if I had a choice I would go back to United Healthcare they are the best!

I had 2 dental visits on 6/16/2022 and 4/25/2023, respectively. Since my dental office doesn’t accept Cigna insurance, I paid the costs by credit card and filed 2 claims for reimbursement on 4/25/2023. In May, Cigna sent 2 checks to the dental office. Although the dental office sent both checks back immediately, Cigna didn’t issue the check to me. I called Cigna and requested the checks 4 times (each time takes more than 45 minutes). They told me that they put stop payments for the 2 checks, and I need to wait for 60 days. In July and August, I called them 4 times to check the status of the payments. They told me the problem was resolved at the end of each long call (more than 1 hour). After another 2 calls in September and October, I received 1 check at the end of October. Again, I called Cigna to find another check. But Cigna once again sent the check to my dental office by mistake! They advised me to wait another 75 days to call back! Almost all Cigna’s customer service representatives who handle the claim are foreigners who speak English with very strong accent. It’s very difficult to understand. I'm frustrating.

Awful experience with Cigna customer service. The service has been farmed out to a company that uses people that can barely speaks English, have heavy accents, and paid no attention to my questions. I was bounced around from one phone site to another, each site had their own menu which took me to other sites with their own menus. At no time was I asked my name and subscriber number, they read stuff to me and then transferred me to another site. There was no pretense at addressing my questions. I have no choice but to change companies ASAP.

In May of last year, 2022, I had a colonoscopy cancer screening with an in network Dr. at an in network facility. The anesthesiologist was out of network. The EOB says that the service was either not covered or my deductible ($1000) had not been met and that they allowed $143 to go towards my deductible (I had satisfied $250 already) but that I owe the full $2600 to the provider?! Cigna later says the anesthesiologist claims I signed a consent to waive my rights to the no surprise act. I did not and would not have!! I asked if they had it and they said no. Then the anesthesiologist states recently that Cigna says No surprise billing act doesn't apply to this?! I know that the act prohibits waivers to be given for non emergency ancillary services, they are void even if signed. Their site documents even state this! I've gone back and forth and have gotten nowhere with their investigations and appeals. neither side will budge. I thought I was not to be charged an out of network rate under the bill? I'm being sent to collections and they won't explain anything other than to look at my EOB.
