Reviewed Dec. 1, 2023 In 2023 my wife and I had Cigna Dental insurance. Absolutely horrendous company to do business with. They constantly look to deny and if that doesn’t fly they will absolutely nickel and dime. The dentist (Cigna preferred ) has actually withdrawn from accepting any Cigna dental insurance in 2024. Worst of the worst and frequently give incomplete and/or inaccurate information Best advise I can give - pick another company- they are truly awful

Cigna has been unlawfully taking payments from my mother for over a year. My mother switched to Humana and has tried several times to cancel with Cigna, they claim they've canceled but every month they still deduct a payment from her account. The last time being October 16th 2023 but yet again they took $223 out of her account in November.

Was unable to post without giving a star, and zero was not an option otherwise it would be a HUGE ZERO..... Unbelievably horrible experience. I as told 2 different things by customer service, neither of which followed through. Cancelled my policy due to their misleading information and have yet to get my refund. I highly recommend if you are looking for ANY kind of insurance, look elsewhere, because honest and great customer service is NOT Cigna's top priority, if it is one at all.

My husband had a heart attack in August was admitted a total of 4 times between August and September. Claims were filed on the critical care policy the hospital stay policy. I immediately noticed my plan wS not correct and had my employer fix it and reach out to cigna to make corrections so that I am paid by the correct plan. At this time no checks had been cut. Shortly after this a check was mailed out for the incorrect amount. The check never arrived after waiting a month..i stopped payment requested it be reissued this process took a month almost. The critical care claim layed on someones desk 45 plus days. I called every single day with no results left a number of messages requesting a call from management. Eventually i went online and sent email to the CEO of cigna he had someone reach out to me her process was no better still had to wait over 2 wks to get check reissued was suppose to over night but was sent regular mail. Weeks was spent going back and forth..At present time I am still waiting on 3 claims with no response as to when i will get them. This is horrible to go thru this when this insurance was purchased to keep a hardship from happening it actually caused a hardship.

Cigna has denied 2 of my claims (the others are still pending) because they are under the assumption that I have another primary health insurance called Highmark, which I do not. They won't tell me where they're getting this information, and I have contacted Highmark to see if I'm in their system and they told me "there has never been any trace of you in our system". This is what I expected of course, considering Highmark is based in PA and I live in KY. They keep saying they've changed it in their system but they haven't. They even asked for a letter stating the end of my coverage from my previous insurer, Anthem, which I faxed to them but it still hasn't changed anything. Every time I call and talk to a representative they all go through the same process, tell me the same thing, but so far no resolution. This issue started in June and has been going on for almost 6 months now

This company should get 0 stars! The billing department misinforms their customers and the management team is a huge joke! No empathy and lack of customer service skills. After calling their billing department close to 1 month, 5 different representatives and 1 supervisor, I was told at the last call that I was misinformed and nothing could be done to resolve my issue. Renewal time came up and I made a plan selection and mandatory payment on the government website for Jan 2024. This company took my funds and allocated them to one of my premiums for 2023 and not 2024 as I had only authorized. I spoke with the following reps: 11/8- John in Billing, 11/17 JD in billing, 11/20 Ron in billing (rudely disconnected my call and was unable to get through to anyone), 11/27 Lizelle in billing and finally a supervisor named Lori. Instead of trying to make things right, I was told that the reps who assisted me should be coached for the misinformation and that nothing could be done to correct this information. I was told by Lori that she is correcting the issue by informing me correctly of the issue today and not refunding me back the funds they took and allocated at their sole discretion without my approval. I was told that if I wanted to cancel, then maybe I should. This company is reprehensible.

This company is designed as a go between for insurance and providers, this company serves no purpose other than to cause confusion and delay of patient care. The inability to keep accurate records and communicate consistent messaging is astounding and speaks to the state of healthcare. The lag time for processing the unnecessary requirements is shameful. Avoid...avoid..avoid if at all possible. I need an MRI for major TMJ issues that I have been dealing with for several years. The supervisor denied the MRI, because I told them this company sucks. It was denied without documentation from my doctor. It was denied because I told the supervisor off and told them this third party is bad. I am reporting this situation to the correct agencies and my insurance company.

There is no score less than 1 star. Cigna has been calling me for months. Even after I block their number, they just go to their next one. The clincher was today. They showed up AT MY HOUSE for an "in-home check-up." We never give out our physical address, as we use a PO Box. I was at work. They asked for me by my nickname (rather than my given name). They told my husband I was expecting them. I don't have their insurance and naturally, never will. I don't know where they got my address, let alone my phone number. I wish they'd leave me alone. I have Aetna insurance and I'm very satisfied with them.

Cigna bought the right to administer Medicare part D in 2022. Before they did it, it cost me nothing (0$) for each of my 5 drugs. As soon as they took over, they started raising prices, until now it costs $20 per drug and $50 monthly premium. I also found out separately that Cigna is the worst denier of medical procedures in their MedAdv. plans. This company is a piece of shit covered in vomit. DO NOT SIGN UP!

Every procedure or test is a fight. They use a third party company (Evicore) to determine approvals and Evicore denies just about everything. My cardiologist has been trying to get test covered for nearly two months with no luck. They are literally playing games with my life right now. Run from this company if at all possible. I don't have a choice due to this being my only option through my job.
