Worst customer ********************** Ive ever dealt with. Ive had 3 separate member services supervisors completely lie to **** was randomly dropped even after paying all my premiums through auto pay. One supervisor told me I would be reinstated. Then two weeks later another told me I wouldnt be, but that I would get a refund and be able to join a new plan. Now today Ive been on hold with another bozo supervisor for over 2 hours, that claims I cant get a new plan and that I will only get half my refund. Im still waiting for this supervisor to simply get me his higher *** contact but he refuses to. Claims he speaks to the owner of Highmark itself. Someone needs to review these supervisors calls immediately.Stay far away from this circus.Review from Carol D

they are the worst company and literally took my money and then cancelled my insurance. Customer service is the worst as well. They all say the same thing. Sorry for the inconvenience Approved a cat scan and then denied payment. I would never recommend them to anyoneReview from Nancy S

I made a premium payment which was deducted from my bank and Highmark did not apply the payment to my account. I had Highmark investigate and search for this payment which was an 8 month process which required me to send many bank documents and repeatedly the same ones. However they were never able to locate it so I had to make an additional premium payment for that month. So for that month my premium payment was double what it should have been. The billing department is unreliable and does not function accurately. I did file a grievance.Review from Kevin S

Horrible ins. co .Has gotten very bad last 6 months may have to do with all of their employees that they have let go in the last year .They are denying here and there and hope you dont catch it,by the time they fix it bills are in collections.Maybe thats why they are making record profits.Review from Asher H

Beware this company does not care about customer service and is very misleading in their advertising. I purchased a health plan from Highmark and they haven’t stuck to their original policy the policy I purchased said $0 generic drugs and every time I’ve gone to the pharmacy and checking with them that the drugs are generic I have to had to pay. This is very deceptive and feels fraudulent. I also tried to get an explanation as to why I’ve had to pay and have gotten zero answers after waiting on hold for over an hour the call just hung up and after calling back and waiting another hour I still was unable to get an answer from Highmark. I feel sorry for anyone else who is having to deal with this

When you get disrespected and tell them what they are doing isn't right and hang up on you 4 times. The manager *********************** up on me 3 times, made me cry when I kept asking for a different manager he told me NO . I asked to cancel my coverage he told me NO. I got it canceled and after the lady was done talking to me he got on the phone . I hung up. He called back and I said if you call me one more time it's harassment. He tried to call me back twice then had a member named ****** call me. I said I had already canceled and that I'm reporting them he hung up immediately. This is supposed to be a MEDICAL INSURANCE and they treat people like this? This is not okay. They are supposed to be helping hundreds of people and this is the way they treat them?Review from David C

Highmark Insurance, a corporation which yielded approximately $431,000,000 in net income through the first three quarters of 2023 informed us, with a net income of approximately $12,000 through the first three quarters of 2023, that our 1 year old baby son’s emergency ride between two in-network hospitals would not be covered completely. This ambulance ride was issued by the hospital, and we had no control of the ambulance service used. The service used was classified as in-network up until 2020 when Highmark Insurance Corporation could no longer reach a deal with the ambulance service. Thus, we are informed that we are responsible for the approximately $1,500 balance, which represents over 12% of our aforementioned net income as opposed to 0.0003% Highmarks previously mentioned net income. The rationale provided by Highmark is that this is just how their system covers these situations. Their corporation’s business model determines that it’s more cost effective to terminate a contract with small ambulance services, thus classifying it as out-of-network allowing them to put the a bulk of the ambulance costs back on the consumer while retaining the money associated with the contract agreement for ambulance services as an in-network service provider.

Awful insurance provider; they reject every claim and force you to battle for coverage on services and medications you're are entitled to. Not to also mention that their customer care reps have no idea what they are doing Absolutely terrible! I already have an appeal pending and will be filing a complaint on BBB if I end up being rejected for my services that I am covered for.Review from Eli B

Disgusting. It is astonishing that ******** health care is permitted to be so downright abusive. This company will constantly make it difficult to access your bill, your account, or any information related to your healthcare coverage. They will transfer you around the globe dozens of times before hanging up on you, and they will charge you an arm and a leg to do it. Their online payment platform is broken. My password works to sign me into the platform, but does not work to verify that the account is mine during payment. Even the 'sign-out' function on the billing website does not work, it simply closes the tab and leaves you signed in, which is a horrible security issue. I have elected for paperless billing, yet they send me a letter weighing approximately 2 pounds every month. Their customer support reps have phones with more static ambient noise than an old radio with no antenna. They ignore regular requests and feedback. They slow walk contact with my healthcare providers. They are a grossly irresponsible and uncaring company working in a space where people require support and good faith assistance more than anywhere else. It's a travesty.Moreover, they'll increase your coverage costs by OVER 20% PER YEAR for the privilege of having to deal with their abusive behaviour and broken software.For the sake of people who genuinely require caring support from their healthcare company, please stop supporting this one. Horrible. I can't even explain without my blood boiling which I have to be cautious it may lead medical services which they won't help.
