There was always a wait to talk to someone, so we finally decided to have them call us back. We were scheduled to hear back on a Thursday at 4:30pm, 4 days after we called & couldn't talk to a person. That's a long wait 4 days. Then they called at 4:50 & put my husband on hold for 49 minutes until finally he talked to someone. They did give us answers though. But when we were supposed to be called back we shouldn't have to wait. This means they need to hire more people to give attention that is needed. This was questions that cold affect my husband's health.

From a nonexistent customer ********************** line to constant denials and increases in cost with less coverage about says it all. If you call them you are subjected to a bot who can't hear numbers. doesn't allow you enough time to answer and than you are subjected to a lengthy non disclosure message which basically tells you if the agent says it is covered it may not be covered.

When you inevitably have issues with your serviceMay as well not call the phoneyoull suffer through their minutes-long automated waiver of every liability possible over the phone. Just for none of the options to be clear enough on where youre trying to get to. Just for the system to not pick up your verbal answers or ask for your member ID multiple times. If you answer other, theres a good chance theyll tell you to call back later when you have your information.Seems like a deliberate waste of my time for arduous complications.

This is the WORST INSURANCE COMPANY ON EARTH!!!Just for starters:There is no coordination of information among departments. They mailed out their 2025 insurance cards on January 3, 2025!!!!It will take 7-10 days to receive them!!!!They should have been completely delivered by January 1, 2025.This company is the most client-UNFRIENDLY company there is!!!

Highmark BCBS cancelled my coverage to what they claim as nonpayment for my premium. My payment schedule was set to autopay and they had been taking out payments until as recently as October. For whatever reason whether it be a glitch or something else they just stopped taking payments from my account. Funds were always available and I even offered to pay any overdue funds, but the appeal to reinstate was denied. I have recorded the phone call with their support representative after informing them that I would be recording the call and they have stated that they dont see any reason why the payment was not deducted such as a card being declined or anything else. They have a breakdown between their billing department and policy holding department. After speaking with two different representatives, each cannot see any reason why the payment was not taken out. The appeals have not worked and you have no opportunity to plead your case to whomever makes the reinstatement decision. Their excuse is that they do not have a number to that department. I received two letters from Highmark stating my coverage would be canceled on a date of two different months. I have done my do diligence to try and correct whatever payment issue might be on my end. Now Im a stuck without health coverage for another month due to the enrollment window and coverage start date of other plans. Again, I have recorded the the representative stating that it looks like it was a Highmark issue but when the appeal is submitted, it is denied. I do not recommend them based on my own experience and the others who have posted reviews in this forum.

EVERY year I have a physical Highmark denies payment for part of my lab work. I have to contact a patient advocate and jump through hoops to get them to pay. This year has been HORRIBLE. Every time I call a patient advocate the story changes: It was coded incorrectly, Medical history supporting it must be submitted, it requires a letter of Medical Necessity...My doctor's office has done everything they've asked of them at this point and still...denied. I dread my physical each year knowing I will have to deal with them. I've called for help 5 times now. I HATE dealing with this. Get your act together Highmark BCBS!

My employer is using Highmark as an insurance provider for medical insurance. the problem is Highmark keeps denying the claims. they say we don't have coverage. we call them they agree we do have coverage. they agree to reprocess the claims in 6 to 8 weeks. we wait the allotted time and call them back to find out nothing was done. Now we start over again. Evey single employee in my company has the same problem. We are paying for a service for which we get no service. they are stealing our money. Normally thieves get put in jail something should be done. But probably something will not get done because I am a little person with no power. Now the hospital is putting claims to collections because they want to be paid. Which I don't blame them. Highmark is going to keep getting away with this because they are not held accountable.

They string you along on the app telling you that your service is active and then if you are late or behind even a little bit they cancel your stuff and don't tell you till the last minute and then you end up with multiple extremely high bills for any services that you received during those three months you were a few dollars behind if you do not check your mail then you will not be notified and on the app it will continue to say that your status is active and each payment you make is approved and each doctor's appointment you go to you will pay a copay regardless if you are in there quote unquote delinquent mode which they did not tell you about tell me about whenever I spoke to them a week before my insurance was due to supposedly be canceled now they are not going to pay for anything for the last 3 months because I was a little behind on my account but nobody ever told me that that was not okay the app never said that I was in delinquent mode I never got any email saying that I was in delinquent mode they said they only sent to one letter. One single letter. And that's it so who cares if you only use the app I have chatted with the people on the app I have talk to the people on the phone and no one ever told me that if my account was not paid in full by certain day that my health insurance was going to be canceled. The woman I spoke to even looked up the previous conversations I've had on chat and on the phone one is just recent is last week to where I was not told that if my account was not paid in full by this day or that day that it was going to be canceled. And there's proof right there I was not told and other than the one letter the one single and only letter that they sent in august. The number one I don't remember receiving number two with **** who's to say it didn't get lost in the mail I never received an email and as I said the app always said I was active and good. it's not right and it has to be against some sort of rights that I have as a consumer.

Horrible customer ********************** and website. The website provider search results are misleading, inaccurate, or just plain wrong. You can get a result for a doctor or dentist and they aren't accepting new patients. You can get a provider referral to later find out by a female customer ********************** *** that they aren't in network. The sour women working the phone lines can give you referrals that don't even come up on the website searches. The phone ***s couldn't send me provider referrals via email or text because i didn't have it somehow set up.
