This facility said I needed to have 14 teeth pulled when I went to them to fix 1 missing tooth. They said I needed 14 teeth pulled and that they would give me a partial for Top and bottom. Then proceeded to tell me it was ****** vs. the 360 they quoted me on the phone. Naturally the process was very traumatic and I was literally number 29. I was not a person| I was devastated after having all Those teeth pulled and realized I would never be the same. They didnt care. They shoved them partials in my mouth with blood running down my face and sent me on my way. Its been almost a eeek and I cannot get the partials in or out and one of them broke because they didnt even try to explain to me what to do or How to do it. I am left with no confidence and partials that dont fit and a lot of all pain and embarrassment.Business Response

The patient presented to our clinic on 04/17/2025. She had 14 extractions with an upper and lower partial denture. The patient was informed she has 90 days of free adjustments and would have to schedule those prior to returning to the clinic as we have a limited number we can see on a daily basis. The patient has not returned to our clinic for any post operative care or adjustments. In order for us to address the issue with her partials, we need her to return to the clinic at her earliest convenience. I have attached the document every immediate denture patient reads and signs prior to services being rendered.Initial Complaint

I went in on yesterday morning, which is 9/20/24 to fix two chipped teeth in the front of my mouth. The dentist suggest that I get back teeth removed as well and suggested I get a top and bottom frontal. I agreed and waited all day just to get my partials and nothing I ask for was done. They didnt fix the problem I came for. When they put partials in the bottom fit but top kept falling out. They handed me a box and said its glue in there and told me to fix it myself. When I mention that my problem wasnt fix they was so rude to me telling me that they can fix it but I will have to pay more money and that I should of went upstairs if thats what I needed done. This was my first time going to this place and the proper knowledge wasnt explained to me. If I went to get front teeth done and they couldnt do that it should have been explained up front not after I paid for services and got nothing I asked for. I saved money to get my front teeth fixed for my birthday now I look worst I got partial that wont fit my top and 800 dollars down the drain. Thats 40 hrs of work for nothing. I was literally crying telling them thats not what I wanted they wasnt remorseful, didnt even offer a apology, they just got upset with me and wouldnt even help me put my top partial. Now I have to miss a whole week of work to try to find another dentist to fix what they messed up and going to be out of another 1000 dollars for services that should of already been done. A lawsuit is definitely my next step if this is not resolved. ******** customer service and I will not let this go.Business Response

The patient presented to our clinic on September ******* for extractions and partials. It was explained to the patient by the dentist she would require two extractions with an upper and lower partial. The patient signed off stating she understood she would have two extractions with an upper and lower partial. It is possible the patient will have to use adhesive when wearing partials or dentures. This is explained to every patient we see. The patient is also provided 90 days of free adjustments and a reline for her upper temporary denture. The patient has not returned for any additional services to provide us an opportunity to determine the best course of action for her. Additionally, the patient signed stating she understood we have a No Refund Pollicy. Due to these factors, we are denying the request for a refund.Initial Complaint

I have been to this dental company at least ten times in the last couple of months. On July ******* was the date the dentures were installed. They leave sores, I'm unable to eat, I talk weird and when I smile it looks like I don't have any teeth. I paid $495 for dentures that don't even work. When I went back the last time, last week, they told me I got what I paid for. If I wanted them fixed it would cost another $800.????? They treated me like I didn't have any sense and because I was 85 yrs old I wasn't able to fight them back. I might not be able to but my daughter that's very healthy, strong and smart can and will do whatever it takes for this company to make these dentures right. She lives here in ************ so it's not a problem for her to access my information. I have also decided to let her go on every social media outlet and let as many people aware of this company, how they take advantage of the elderly and they are nothing more than theives SCAMMING the elderly. They have very poor customer service. The receptionist is short tempered, rude and unprofessional. When I got ready to leave she told me to leave and that the company was FINISHED w/me.??? FINISHED WITH ME?? They were tired of me asking questions and they couldn't answer them without lying. I want these upper dentures fixed right!! That's what I paid for. If need be my daughter will have a visit to the dental office and I don't want to take legal action but I'm not afraid to if I have to. They need to do what's right and be a professional company and make this right.Business Response

**************** presented to Sexton Dental Clinics ************ location for his original denture on 07/23/2024. The patient did get what he paid for; in that he received a characterized complete upper denture. The patient stated he was not happy with his complete upper denture because he did not see any teeth when he smiled. All our dentures are made to the anatomy of that patients mouth; therefore, when the impressions are done and the denture is set up in wax, we do not know if the patient will show teeth after the denture is made. The only way to achieve this is to have a Cosmetic Try-In. This allows the patient to see the denture prior to being fabricated. The patient was informed about the Cosmetic Try-In prior to fabrication of the denture but signed stating he did not want it. We remade the denture on 07/24/2024 due to the bite being over opened by our dental assistant.
The patient returned on 08/21/2024, 08/26/2024 and 08/29/2024 for additional adjustments. Each time the adjustments were completed, the patient was not happy. As you can see from 07/24/2024, we do not have problem remaking a denture when warranted. At this point, it has been determined the denture does not need to be remade.

I had a appointment to get all teeth removed and get dentures at Sexton Dental Clinic in ******** ************** on Jan 6, 2023. After getting x-rays they determined that I needed 7 teeth removed from my sinus cavity by their oral surgeon. Well we made the appointment to go to the ************ office. First appointment was on Jan 12. They called to cancel that appointment because the Dr was out sick. It got rescheduled for today, Jan 19. I showed up and signed in for my appointment. They then call me back up to the window to inform me that the ******* he will not remove just the 7 sinus teeth, that it's either all or nothing. Granted this appointment has been made for a whole week and the appointment was for the extraction of the 7 sinus teeth only! Ok so I was fine with it, just do it all. No sir, you can pay the $3,000 today and go ahead and get the impressions made for the dentures and then you can come back Monday or whenever you can to get the teeth pulled. So now you want me to give you $3,000 for yall to do the impressions for the dentures. No ma'am. You literally just told me yall can do it all in one day. But now that I agree with it, you can't? And why couldn't you tell my wife this yesterday when she called to confirm my appointment? We live 6 hours away! This office is completely unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE! They should reimburse me for wasting my time and money to drive that far and having to miss work! Get a new Dr that doesn't mind doing his job!Business Response

**************** showed up to his scheudled appointment that had to be changed due to an illness with ***********. At the time of the visit, *********** decided he preferred to complete all extractions for the patient and not just the sinus teeth. The patient stated he did not have the money to complete all of the work that day. He was informed his impressions could be done and dentures prepared for him to return at a later date to have the dentures seated.Initial Complaint

5-17-2022 I was told by Dentist my lower teeth could be fixed taking care of cavity's I asked him about one that was loose he said he knew they could be filled or he would have pulled all 3 including 1 loose. My teeth were damaged in a wreck where I had brain injury..1st dentures they tryed to get me to accept I told him reminded me of donkey off he-haw.He did drill them down but teeth still to large I ask him if he ever saw Donkey he laughing saying yes he saw show but nobody mention teeth made ever looked like donkey.I can't wear them plus Dr.J***** who is specialist told me my teeth would crumble if they tryed drilling but I called explain ed I was told to come back for teeth to be repaired when I called I was told dentist should have never said they could be fixed when another dentist in different Dept would make decision. I can't wear what they made honestly gladly pay for denture& partial made correctly along with Sextons being able to fix remaining teeth filling them like I was told as long as when there are thru teeth don't look like a smiling donkey.I have friends who believe Sextons are great I don't after trying to wear what the I pd upfront for also if they fill remaing teeth like promised.I plainly ask him if he meant fillings or implants he said fillings but he should have never said that unless he knew for sure and the lady name Pat who makes appt told me this.Thank youBusiness Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/19) */ Ms *** presented to Sexton Dental Clinic on May 17, 2022. It was determined that she did not need extractions just a partial. All of our patients are allotted 90 days to return for any adjustments at no charge. She has never scheduled a follow up visit nor has she made a reservation to have an adjustment. Our Restorative department called and left her a message on June 3, 2022, however, Ms. *** did not follow up or schedule an appointment with that department. Unfortunately, the patient is outside of her 90 day window for free adjustments. We are more than happy to address any concerns, however, the patient will have to pay for any services such as fillings and an adjustment to her partials. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The issue is being told by Sextons dentist my 3 teeth needed fillings. That they could not be filled that day. When I called back I was told a dentist from that dept would let me know what dental work needed to be done that I should have never been told I needed 3 fillings that it wasn't his decision and that I needed to make an appt. After 2nd dentist let's me know what work I need I would have to make another appt for work to be done. It's an 2 hr.drive there & back.My problem is this dentist checked my teeth out I question the one that's loose his answer to me was he would pull all 3 but all you need is 3 fillings .So I made an appt with Dr.J***** Dentist in Georgetown SC is sending me to a dentist that I need 3 teeth pulled that those teeth would crumble if a drill was used on them and he suggested 1 implant on each side in lower jaw to hold dentures in place.I also saw Dr.Little at Pawleys Island SC he said 1st thing I needed was to have 3 teeth pulled they are not abled to be filled suggest implants. Also upper & lower dentures he said I would need upper& lower dentures made same time quaratee a match. I am planning to go to Sextons to let there 2nd dentist make me a 3rd appt for what? Like Pat from restorative dept said the 1st Dentist who was one who checked my teeth told me what I dental work I needed were 3 fillings That it's not his decision and should have never told me any dental procedures I needed.2nd problem they knew dentures were 2 big. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/09/27) */ After reviewing the patient's chart, there were no notes referring to teeth needing fillings. The only note was "Patient needs a comprehensive restorative exam by a restorative dentist." Unfortunately, the patient is still outside of her 90 day window for free adjustments. We are more than happy to address any concerns, however, the patient will have to pay for any services such as fillings and an adjustment to her partials. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/10/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) 1st I am not worried about being passed the 90 day that is not what this complaint is about. The problem is I was told 3 teeth could be filled by the dentist I saw that morning when I questioned him about one of 3 teeth being loose That Dentist said if he pulling them all I needed was 3 teeth filled. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/10/11) */ As previously stated, We are more than happy to address any concerns, however, the patient will have to pay for any services such as fillings and an adjustment to her partials. To schedule an appointment with our Restorative Department for fillins please call (XXX)XXX-XXXX. For an adjustment to your denture please call (XXX)XXX-XXXX.Initial Complaint

On 4/6/2022 I had a tooth extraction at Sexton Dental (Myrtle Beach office), I was quoted $190.00 for the extraction. Once in the Dental chair (with bib on, anticipating the procedure) they asked me to go to the registration counter to sign paperwork agreeing to $290.00 (upping the cost by $100.00) ... under duress, I did so, When the procedure was done, the Dentist knocked-out the filling in the adjacent tooth (#4) during the extraction. When confronted, he said "these things can happen". Needless to say, I do not want to have any more Dental work done by Sexton ... I'm not comfortable trusting them. My cost to repair Sexton's botched job is a bit over $400.00 ... involving exam, x-rays & refilling the damaged tooth. I have 2 different estimates (Aspen Dental $430.00); & (Farrow Prkwy. Dental $463.00). I am seeking a refund of the $290.00 I paid to Sexton, to offset the cost of repairing their Dental error ($430.00). Sexton did not stick to their quoted price, botched the job, & then according to Jay Waller (Public Relations for Sexton) ... take no responsibility for what it is going to cost me to fix this problem they caused. I have my paid receipt $290.00 as well as an x-ray from Sexton dated 4/6/2022 showing the adjacent tooth (#4) before they knocked-out the filling. Attached are 3 pieces of evidence ... 1.) 2 Dental repair estimates day of incident; 2.) x-ray from 4/6/2022 & 3.) my $290.00 paid receipt. // Thank you - *** ******Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/31) */ Mr. ****** has been informed Our paperwork explains that there are certain inherent and potential risks in any treatment or procedure, and that in this specific instance, such operative risks include, but are not limited to: injury to teeth and or gums. His signature indicated that he gave his informed consent and understood the potential risks associated with having an extraction at our clinic. We denied his request for a refund and this is still our stance. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I signed such paperwork that they speak of under duress. I was in the Dental chair with bib on when the asked I sign paperwork at the counter (also hiking the cost by an additional $100.00 now to $290.00. I didnot have my glasses on, was not explained what I was signing & still request a full refund of $290.00. iIn 67 years of having Dental work I've not encountered an organization like Sexton who does not want to take responsibilityfor their error. Please review my evidence submitted.Initial Complaint

I went to sextons in Myrtle Beach SC to get my teeth pulled and get dentures. The 3rd week a tooth came off. Had that fixed. Then the next week a front tooth came off while eating grits. I swallowed it got caught in my throat. I threw up so long my eyes swelled shut. They did not even apologize. I could not get my money back and now I am scared to wear the denture again. I would like to be able to put that money with more to get implants they would not do it. I have an anxiety disorder and PTSD I don't know what to do!!Business Response
