      First and foremost if I could leave no stars I would but seeing as I can't I will settle for 1 star and that's being generous. We stayed at compass cove from 8/2-8/6 and it wasn't a pleasurable nor relaxing experience. We had to wait an hour after check in just to be told that one of our two rooms was not ready. And to add to insult we had specifically requested on our reservations we booked two months in advance that our rooms be on the same floor only to be placed one room on the 16th floor and the 9th floor. Our room on the 9th floor had a non working tv and tv remote and a non working a/c unit. We called the front desk twice only to have to resort to buying a Roku to be able to watch TV. Also we paid for the efficiency room only to find no pots or pans and no dish rags and the only pot that was there was so dirty and burnt it should have been thrown away and there were roaches in the room. Our room on the 16th floor had a non flushable toilet and when we called it resulted in a less then a minute visit that still left us with an non flushable toilet. And we only had one roll of tissue paper for the whole stay and when we tried to find housekeeping they were basically non existent and missing with only their carts in the hallways. The lobby and elevator floors were constantly wet and there was used wet towels discarded on the elevator floors which is unsanitary. Our stay was definitely not worth the money we spent and definitely regrettable. We will not being staying there again unless something changes.

      **** post full review.This isn't a family resort. I have witnessed *** in the pool, someone taking a s*** in the pool several times, and we had to leave. Last night, we all left the pool because someone did that again. Smoking pot in the pool. Glass beer bottles were broken. People throwing beers from the 4th floor to the people having *** in the pool.There are not enough towels for 3 people. Extremely rude maids. Partying all night with people swimming yelling. fires on the beach. Fireworks all night exploding everywhere.People are putting towels out so early, so you can't get a place to sit. Babies in diapers at the pool. We were misled from the beginning. Sketchy people hanging around in parking garage, no parking. No one had wirstbands on. I counted ******************** one room. The laundry room ripped me off the washer, didn't ring out clothing, and the dryer didn't dry. Not everyone had bracelets, people waiting for other people to open doors. The amount of people who were bragging that they came from houes an hotels across the street an swam. Your pools stay cloudy. Dogs are barking all night. So everything that made me want to bring my family here was an absolute lie because all the rules you state are broken on an hourly basis. I overpaid to stay here. But all my money was tied up in your resort, and you state no refunds. . We are not used to a trashy an unkept environment. This resort isn't suitable for a family. It's suitable for all the trash that we witnessed all 5 days. The room we were assigned was horrendous. 2 towels 2 wash rags for 3 people. Filthy floors tables and chairs, and the a/c unit leaked so bad it flooded the porch. No garbage bags. I had to buy some, no toliet paper, I also bought some. No coffee in the room. No maid service. I'm glad I didn't because we witnessed a lady yelling about being robbed by the maids. The dirt in the corner of that bathroom was 2 inches thick. I also bought sheets for us to use.

      2 hour wait for my room after driving hours..... To get here. Dirty carpet. Dirty Jacuzzi that we dared not to get in. The amenity of an indoor pool was roped off so we couldn't get in there. We were still told that we couldn't get a late check out even after the two hour wait. The windows are streaked all over the hotel. The elevators are nasty! This was my main hotel to vacation at but we were very disappointed. This was my seven year wedding anniversary. The time that we had to spend to wait for my room cut into prime time of being with my husband. We were only staying one night and it was not to be spent in complaints!

      I am sorry your experience was not what you had hoped for when you chose to stay with us here at Compass Cove. Of course we want everyone to enjoy their experience here while they are our guest. We did have a pool down recently to address a life safety issue which has been resolved but we do service all our other bodies of water regularly so that our guests can enjoy them throughout the day. I am disappointed that your room was not ready upon arrival and that negatively impacted your recent stay. We will refund half your stay with us due to the issues you had. IF you booked with a third party you may need to get them to issue you a refund on their end, but we will refund their card half of your total stay due to the late check in.       Love the Hotel, My in laws have been coming for close to 30 years. My wife, kids and I started about 6 years ago. After father in law passed. We come with my mother in law. Never really have had any complaints. Its a big hotel, whatever issue, they normally accommodate. Except this year. The Front desk manager or just employee. Not sure her title, Has been real short. Doesnt want to do anything. First our family comes for 8 nights 9 days. And we spend pretty much whole time at hotel love sitting on balcony, staring at ocean. Watching D.J. And people have a good time. But the room we got. The view is of the roof of smaller building. Only see small part of beach, none of hotel pool area. Is nice to see and call down sometimes to check with wife or whatever to see if anything needed. When at **********. But not an option. So asked to change rooms. Again were a family that just hangs at hotel. To others this may not have been an issue. Maybe only use room to sleep. Then go spend day doing whatever. Anyway looking up at hotel see several empty rooms. But front desk said will have to check out, and hope a room available. We do this trip every year. Over $3 grand. There not losing a room just switching numbers. After explaining that. Was told room would have to be cleaned and she was not doing it, or putting it on the board. So after excepting that. A few other issues we had with room,we now need to address. If we changed rooms, wouldnt have mattered. So now we ask for shower curtain, there was not one. Needed sheet for fold out. Skillet. Ext. took a day to get any items. Had maid come to room and walk in to verify we didnt have something. (Rude) Then wake up with no WiFi. Call desk. And said they have internet we needed to call company tell them our room number and figure it out. Were on vacation. Thats there Job. So seeing other reviews. I agree Girl at desk needs to be given a different job description. Because customer service, shes not very good at.

      They hotel is is very nasty the room was dirty. One of the hot tubs has so much chlorine in it that it was burning peoples eyes when they went in it. we are spending $175 a night and the rooms are nasty when we get in there and then we gotta wait hours for sheets. The staff is not cleaning the hotel properly and the staff at the front desk. The staff the black females at the staff are very very nasty and have a nasty attitude and do not like their jobs at all. They need to be replaced. The hotel needs to be remodeled and the rooms need to be clean properly. The rooms are nasty when you go in, I have plenty of pictures and Im trying not to post it on social media, but something needs to be done about this hotel. The staff have bad attitudes in the morning and, the rooms are nasty. We should not come on vacation and have to stay in a nasty room that is unprofessional.

      Our reservation was sept.25-28-2023 the room didnt look like the pictures. first thing that was wrong was the commode was leaking, the faucets in the bathtub were leaking all the time, the range in the kitchen only half worked. We were falsely accused of breaking the commode but it was the cast iron ****** that connects to cast iron sewer line under the commode. It was the worse place we ever stayed in. In all the 40 plus years we have vacationed in ************.we will never stay at compass cove again.

      Arrived at 1:30 room wasn't ready til 3:30. Found out next morning the tub drains slowly, hours. Couldn't rinse it out for it would just back up again. Nasty dirty, hairy, water! Told maintenance, but was never fixed. One of the hot tubs were cold our entire stay of 4 days. Same with ice machines on 2 floor in schooner building were broke all week. Then one on the 4th floor was later that week.

      Made a reservation as a local resident. Checked the city website to make sure they did rent to locals. Just wanted a staycation. When I arrived with my wife and granddaughter was informed they no longer rent to locals. Told them according to city they did. Lady up front was very rude. Won't refund payment because it was cancelled they day of reservation by them. Bad business practices.

      Disgusting, filthy, and everything was broke. I've never seen such a hotel.
