On January 26, 2023, BBB opened an investigation into the business practices of Southern Grit. At the time, BBB had received 13 unanswered complaints in reference to consumers not receiving orders. Some consumers stated that they received a response from the business promising that they would receive their order. Other consumers stated that the company will not respond to their emails. According to consumers’ reports to BBB, the total dollar amount that was paid to Southern Grit was over $1,300.00 Not all consumers reported the dollar amount. BBB was eventually able to make contact with the business owner in regards to the complaints and expressed the need to receive responses to the complaints, which owner agreed to respond. To date, the owner has not responded to all complaints. BBB continues to forward new consumer complaints to the business.
