      Electric bill is extremely high for one bedroom apartment downstairs. The City of Rock Hill Utilities appears to be a monopoly which is unacceptable and possibly illegal causing great hardship on its customers. Appears to be no means of filing for lower rates for low income seniors.********* utilities has more electrical outages than I've ever experienced in my 79 years in several other locations, mainly in west *****.Attn: Making payments is not an option due to continuing high bill and rate hikes.

      I am concerned with the power outage messages I am receiving over in the morning starting around 12am midnight. power outages for the week of June 20th-June 24th 2022 appeared as an outage however there was no outage. My televisions where the only outage that occurred. During this so called outage, no electricity was lost. My televisions started updating and lost power only, this is happening at midnight and are being restored before daylight. The outage reported are occurring during sleep hours only without anyones knowledge. The price for kilowatts per hour are too expensive and this business is a third party who purchase electricity from duke energy not to mention duke energys power plant is located in the area. The business is a whole monopoly game with unfair rates.

      Without a physical address for the concerns provided, ********* does not have enough information to research the issue to determine if there are any actionable issues with ********** electric service to the customers location. It is possible that the power outage referenced was a circuit breaker operation which is brief and may not have been observed by our customer. Should a power outage occur for ********** electric service to a customer, it would impact most/all of the premise. Given the customer is indicating only one TV experienced a power outage, the issue may not be with ********** electric service. Should additional location information be provided, we would be able to provide additional feedback related to the reported concerns. Annually, the City reviews rates to compare with other cities and towns. Rock Hill's residential electric rates are among the lowest.
