We purchased our home July 2020 it wasn't delivered til December 2020. We wasn't able to move in till February 2021. We we moved in none of the doors in the home will stay open. The floor creeks everywhere. There was literally walmart bags under our carpets that you could hear crinkle when we walked on it. Also had peices of trim under our carpets and the congrolium. The marriage line of the house the sparkle was two different colors. The spackle in the master bathroom is 2 different colors. The back of the house stays about 5 degrees hotter or more than the rest of the house. The trim will not stay up in certain parts of the house. The shut off water valve literally exploded off water was past our ankles in seconds. Water was completely through the house before we could get the water shut off at midnight. The HVAC Unit has been NOTHING BUT trouble it leaks so bad 3 walls in the house are destroyed and so is the floors. The carpet has no padding under it at the marriage line and it sinks down 2inches lower than the rest of the carpet all the way thru the house. Not to mention the carpet staples cut you. We were told the only way we could get anything fixed was if we would go on and give them a 5 star rating or nothing would be fixed. Also they ordered the wrong house and when we told them they said your stuck with this one. Ours was supposed to have a pitch and it don't plumbing was not correct I could go on but I'm out of space. BTW IT WAS ****** at Freedom homes in Beaver,WV that bribed us. They also busted our n neighbors sewage pipes we had to pay to be fixed, in the middle of winter. They left pallets and cinder blocks everywhere on our property and said it was our responsibility to clean that up. The man came and cut the congrolium in the middle of our kitchen floor to get out trash from under it and them tried to glue it down. That is now coming up. DO NOT BUY CLAYTON HOMES BUYERS BEWARE THEY ARE A COMPLETE MONRY PIT AND THE COMPANY DONT CARE

We bought a brand new double wide in 07/23. I currently have 7 leaks underneath my home. I will now have to replace all the plumbing. A one year warranty on a house that cost 315000 is ridiculous. Now I have to pay about 10000 for new plumbing. On a two year old house. The plumbing didn't bust in the winter. The weather has been perfect. I know it was defective or not installed correctly.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of our newly purchased 2025 manufactured mobile home from Clayton Homes. Despite numerous calls to their advocate center, including a conversation with **** regarding cabinet replacement due to a faulty dishwasher installation, the issue remains unresolved after two months. Furthermore, I was assured by a representative in February that the cabinets would be replaced within four weeks, which has not been the case. The subpar construction of this home, including poor framing, is alarming. I intend to share my disappointing experience on social media platforms to caution potential buyers and emphasize the importance of investing wisely, especially in the current economic climate. It is unacceptable to pay a 30-year mortgage on a mobile home that may not last that long. I urge Clayton Homes to take my concerns seriously and provide a satisfactory solution.

Warning to Future Buyers, Stay Away from Clayton Homes of Athens, TN If purchasing from Clayton Homes, especially the Athens, please reconsider. Our experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. What was supposed to be a new beginning turned into months of stress, emergency repairs, and complete disregard from their team. Poor Construction, No Accountability. The mobile home we received was poorly built and carelessly assembled. Within weeks, we dealt with plumbing leaks, water damage, and structural issues, some requiring emergency fixes in the middle of the night. It appears the home passed inspection under questionable circumstances by the HUD inspector at the Morristown plant. Basic standards of quality and safety were clearly not followed. Land Destruction During Setup The land was seriously damaged during delivery and setup. Heavy equipment left deep tire ruts and destroyed the front yard. Rain turned the area into a swamp of red clay. Even more alarming: the yard failed inspection at closing due to improper grading — but it was somehow pushed through anyway. It was never fixed. Unprofessional, Unsupervised Contractors! Crews were unprofessional — drinking on the job, throwing trash into nearby woods, smoking all around the site. There was zero supervision and no pride in their work. Management didn’t care either. It started with lies from the sales rep and ended with complete indifference from the store manager. Attempts to escalate were met with more lies and avoidance. Legal Action in Progress We are now exploring legal options to hold Clayton Homes accountable for property damage, misrepresentation, and breach of contract. Final Word to Buyers RUN!!!! What may seem like an affordable path to homeownership could cost you dearly. Clayton Homes cuts corners at every turn — from construction to customer service. The true cost is emotional, financial, and structural integrity! This is our experience. Let it be your warning.

I'd leave a no star if I could. I sent a certified check Feb 6 for utilities including Well pump, septic, electric, and take down trees. Promised a liveable home within 3 days of closing. Check wasn't cashed immediately, utilities never started nor did they kit with contractors. They eventually sent me my money back but I had to continuously remind them for several weeks to do so. I hired footer guy to dozer trees and do footers. I informed them day 1 that footers weren't level and only 2 trees removed. Home itself, every cabinet or shelf in kitchen dining room, den and bathrooms are cracked and hung incorrectly. Shiplap damaged, tile in kitchen and master damaged and incorrectly grouted, roof is crooked, siding outside is broken, cracked, cut and not secure or airtight. Footer tiers are leaning, Patio door cracked all the way around and loose, every window is cracked from valance installs, a few windows are crooked and filled with caulk. Shower cracked, missing grout, and has crazy caulk over tiles. Toilet stained with urine. Front door leaks and roof isn't right above the door. Dishwasher not stable, fridge opened and dirty. The entire home has caulk everywhere. Back door screen door was also damaged and not installed. Vents have liquid nail and drywall in them. Drywall crew is due to come back but left walls with drywall paper showing thru. I had factory, general manager and project manager came out. They tripped over themselves for why everything was so bad. Factory continued to say I didn't want an airtight home and kept making excuses but Clayton's manual says every home should be airtight inside and out. Brick crew brought out bricks and dropped them on top my newly done well and pump. Not sure if it's torn up yet. They just paid for my permit a week ago which should have been done in Feb when I sent them money. As of May 24 we still don't have all out utilities or our home done. We are now going into month 4. Never pay them cash up front. Minus 5 stars

The persons at this office made promises they do not keep. They keep using the weather as an excuse. We had to pay money upfront to get the grading and footers started however, it has been seven weeks since we give them cash. They implied that the work would begin immediately and could not be started until cash was paid. When a cashiers check was given to them, they didn’t even deposit it for a week so this was another delay. We were told that if we got our order in by January, we should be in our home by the end of April or 1st of May. The footers haven’t even been poured yet!! We tried calling customer advocacy, and all they did was call the Kingsport office and repeat to us the same thing that we had been told, ie: they were waiting on the weather. Our home is paid for and has been sitting on the lot for over a month. Due to their delay, and the fact that our previous house has sold, we have had to pay to stay in our house. Unfortunately, we are still weeks away from the Doublewide being set and are having to now live with a relative and are having to move our possessions twice. While the management blames the weather, I can attest to the fact that there have been numerous days that work could be done. Because it’s raining in Kingsport doesn’t mean it’s raining in Bristol. We are extremely unhappy with Clayton mobile homes, and would not recommend anyone doing business with them. We have been misguided, misdirected and heard excuses until we are sick of dealing with this office. If we had it to do over again, we would go somewhere else or pick another option!

Hi Vicky, thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We want you to have a positive experience during this process, and we apologize for any frustrations while getting ready to be in your new home. We had to wait on permits and inspections in order to move forward with the build, which made some delays. We are pushing out our contractors as quickly as possible. If you have any further concerns, please reach out to our team at Clayton of Kingsport.

We purchased a Clayton homes 211 in 2020 paid in full. Took forever to get the home due to Covid. The first year the breaker for the ac melted due to bad wiring. We could run the microwave and electric skillet at the same time in the kitchen without tripping a breaker. Toilet leaked in the spare bathroom and tub. Ruined the floor. Took 2 times to get it fixed. Roof leaked in multiple places. The ac never cooled the house and heat didnt heat the back half of the house. So the 2 bedrooms and den were always hot or cold. The hot water heater went out the 2nd year. It wasn't installed properly and water was dripping down on the wiring. 2024 first of January our house went up in flames while we were out of state. None of the wiring was in conduits and was exposed. The rafters were 2x2 if that. Cheap particle board in the entire house. The bathtub in spare bedroom that wouldn't drain all the way was cross threaded and floor was rotten underneath. The ac and heat on the 2nd part of the house wasn't hooked up so the air wasn't getting to the rest of the house. We were told that if we would have been home it would have killed 3 of us if not all. The house was not up to code was cheaply made and we lost everything. Almost lost our lives. I have never seen such a poorly made house with the cheapest quality of materials. The siding wouldn't stay on. Was only stapled in few spots. We had to fix that multiple times. The vinyl flooring ripped so easily and was just laminated wood for all the cabinets. We had the worked time trying to get stuff fixed. No one inspected the house. The group putting it together was not supervised. They were smoking in the house and around it. Our youngest has asthma and allergic to cigarette smoke, we asked them not to smoke in it or around it. They didn't care. Worst experience we ever had. We ended fixing the roof ourselves after the first year. Biggest regret we have was buying this house. We lost everything because the company made it cheap.

I sent multiple emails and have not had anyone contact me back. I had numerous pictures and emails for the dealer we bought the house from. It was the worse investment we ever made. We almost lost our entire family due to a house that was built under code and as cheap as possible. The homes are not saf3
