On June 25, 2024, I had a package sent from the FedEx office in **********, **, paid for it to be delivered to ****, ******* on 6/27/2024. The package required a signature from the recipient. FedEx sent me several notices indicating that the package was delayed and it was in *************, IN. I called today, July 1, 2024, and spoke with ***** who told me the recipient would need to pick up the package at the ************* facility. I told her that this was unacceptable, there are FEDEX facilities in **** and surrounding cities closer than the ************* facility which is over an hour away from the recipient. I asked to speak with a supervisor/team leader and ***** said they could not transfer calls. I looked on ****** and gave her store locations closer. She said that based on my suggestion she would have the package sent to the FedEx facility located in a Walgreen's store. I indicated that I did not suggest a facility. I'm not familiar. She said she would have the package routed to the ********* store if the recipient was not home to sign for the package. Then the system was down she could not make changes. She wanted to give me the information and I could request the changes. I told her that I am not an employee of FedEx therefore, I would not be requesting changes. I told her as a FedEx employee, she should request the change in pick-up location other than *************. The ********* store is less than 10 minutes from the recipient's location. I asked her if she contacted the technology team to help her with her technology issue, she did not respond My issue is that the driver(s) chose to drive this package back to the Michigan City facility 3 times because the recipient was not available to sign for the package, opposed to taking the package to one of several more convenient, and closer facilities, the Michigan City staff expected this recipient to drive over an hour to pick up this package. The package will be returned to me on 7/3 if not picked up.
