On may 6 2024 I went to budget brake in ********** al for pads. Technician came out and said I needed new rotors cause mine were worn out of specifications Did not give me requirements or say what the thickness was Said they could not turn them.I never had heard any grinding or anything that could cause damage to rotors. I told him they should be turnable he said no. I told him if they required replacement to go ahead but I wanted the old rotors I called Miles at customer service and he only allowed a $100 dollar refund I took my old rotors to a reputable parts place and they measured using a calibrated micrometer said they could easily be turned once, maybe twice I called Miles again and he started saying my brakes would grab if they were turned but he did not offer any more help. I am a 79 year old guy on a fixed incomeand know brake work pretty well.In summary I was lied to by Budget Brakes and taken advantage of They sold me parts I did not need!!!!Invoice47953. estimate *****

************** brought his 2012 **** F-150, with ******* miles, to our ********************** location on May 6th, 2024, citing concerns about noisy brakes. Upon examination, our standard brake inspection revealed significant wear on the front brake pads, necessitating replacement. Given industry standards, we also recommended replacing the brake rotors to ensure optimal performance. This recommendation was made to uphold our commitment to quality service. ************** received an estimate for the necessary repairs and authorized the service accordingly.

Following the service, ************** expressed his dissatisfaction to our customer service representative. To address his concerns, we issued a partial refund of $100 as a gesture of goodwill.

7 March 2024 I had brake service performed at the Budget Brakes location in *********** **. The mechanic inspecting my vehicle showed me two damaged studs on the wheel, and informed me that I should talk to Valvoline for compensation for the damange. The next day I was returning to *********** from Nashville and noticed that my hubcap was hanging off and noted that a lugnut was missing. I returned immediately to Budget Brakes. The mechanic remembered me and the work, and reiterated that I needed to talk with *********. I went to Valvoline on Dover Rd, and the manager agreed to split the cost of a new stud with me. I was sent over to the ************************* location. After arriving there, the mechanic inspects my vehicle. As Im waiting in the lobby he comes in and says he cant let me leave with the car the way it is. That confused me as Budget Brakes had told me again that morning that the vehicle was good to go. He takes me out to the car and shows me that the front driver side brake caliper was not complete. There was a bolt missing and the caliper was loose. The mechanic facetimed someone at Budget Brakes, informs him of the situation. He showed him the loose caliper. He agreed to bring over the requisite hardware to complete it. The Valvoline mechanic installed the part and they test drove my vehicle to QA/QC operation.Im requesting a full refund of the $745.05 I paid to compensate me for lost time, as a measure of not having gotten my money's worth, but moreso that there is some accountability and that mechanics there going forward do not repeat the same or similar errors.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Representative ***** agreed to send me a check for $166.48, which covers the cost of the labor to install the parts. Since no fault with the parts is expected, this closes this complaint.

I have had my vehicle since 2017, and I assume it still had all the factory installed parts on it at the time of purchase. Fast forward to 2/5/2022 (keep in mind that I have not had issues with the brakes until this date) I take my vehicle to Budget Brakes ******, **. to have a diagnostic, and service for grinding/ vibration. I was told I needed pads all for around, rotors on front, and rear rotors turned to the grand total of $688.18. The work was completed that day, and I continued driving like normal for the next few months until I started getting the same grinding/ vibration as before. I take the vehicle back to them on 06/11/2022, and was told the new rotors were already warped, and the back one's needed turned again. The technician said I must be riding my brakes for this to happen so soon (I said I am driving like I normally do), and proceeded to angerly redo the work at no cost to me. Fast forward again 02/06/2023 (less than 8 months later) and the brakes are having the same grinding/ vibration issues as before, so I take it to a local mechanic, and they proceed to tell me I need rotors all around this time, and new pads for a total of $721.21. I feel that Budget Brakes should either refund the original price I paid for the work they did, as I think they are using cheap/ after market parts on vehicles, or pay for the new work to be done, as their work hasn't even lasted a year. I have filed a complaint with Budget Brakes, but no one has bothered to respond.

I am rejecting this response because:They have not contacted after our( BUDGET BRAKES), my initial conversation. He told me he would warranty all work, but hasn't contacted me with further instructions on when to take my vehicle in, and if the local business is aware of our agreement.

      Sincerely,

Last July I bought ******************************* from budget brakes. They told me I needed new ************* on the back and only new pads & a resurface on the front. After driving away and spending nearly $600 dollars it did not feel corrected. I took it back and they said you need rotors on the front also. I got new rotors put on for 20% off. It was still not fixed. I then took it back and they said they will fix it. This time I drove away and it was still not fixed. When you brake at high speeds the car shakes. I was out around $800 dollars and my brakes still were not fixed. I drove around with them like this until I was able to save enough money to get them properly done. I got them fixed this week with LAW Inc mechanic downtown. He said upon farther inspection the rotors did not fit on my car in the front and that they were not meant for my vehicle. He took them off and placed them in my trunk. He said that it is absurd and dangerous. I feel as if budget brakes took my money and did nothing for me. My brakes were worse after the "fix". I've left emails with no response. Why should I pay for this service

We've had our company vehicle go to this budget brakes location now for over a month (2008 town & country) . They have replaced every component on this fan and charged us over $2500 now. Yet again the vans break is still having problems. Went back today and now they're saying it's the master cylinder which could've been the problem the whole time. Yeah additional cost now is another $2000. When I questioned the representative he told me that he was going to park the van in the damn parking lot for me to come pick it up. Horrible customer service only there for revenue not treating customer right and possibly intentionally messing up our vehicles to make more money.

purchased brakes and rotors and I've been having the same issues with it grinding and not stopping as it should since i let BB work on my car. I've wasted almost $600 dollars and I'd like my money back for wasting my time and energy having to deal with this every other week or so.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/03/08) */ Contact Name and Title: ***** ********* Contact Phone: ********** Contact Email: miles.************************** Our customer service representative has been in contact with the customer regarding the issue, and a refund was submitted as of March 1st. Consumer Response /* (131, 14, 2022/04/04) */ i purchased brakes and rotors from Budget brakes and have been treated poorly since my purchase. I asked for a refund long time ago but they were so manipulatively speaking until i gave them chance after chance to fix the issue and i went to dealer today 4+-1/2022 and they tell me i need over 1200 work of brakes and rotors because the job was done incorrectly. I also paid diagnostic fee and i want Budget brakes to pay me for my diag fee and my brakes front and rear that was done incorrectly! Business Response /* (1000, 18, 2022/04/04) */ I spoke with**********. I offered him a refund if he could present documentation stating that the repairs preformed by budget brakes were done so incorrectly. He was unable to complete this request, so I offered him $100. He declined this offer. Consumer Response /* (3000, 20, 2022/04/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I advised ***** that the dealer didn't state that in writing, however the dealer did state the work that needs to be done and Budget Brakes are the only company that had worked on my Vehicle. ***** never lead with he would only refund if the dealer said that and that was also manipulation. ***** stated he was trying to GET me a refund but later on inn the text told a bogus tale. Text documented below. I advised that I want to be refunded for the time I spend traveling back and forth when I advised DON early on in this process that I wanted a FULL REFUND on all the services that were paid for. I drove an hour each time to be lead on that they would fix my brakes correctly. I failed to read reviews of this company but the reviews aren't great at all. This company needs to be brought to light on just stealing innocent hard working individuals money and not fixing and standing behind their work! I've spent more time traveling to the company and my mental time is way beyond the price that they could just go ahead and refund me for. Business Response /* (4000, 22, 2022/04/05) */ ********* received work on his vehicle from Budget Brakes on 10/26/20. Budget brakes installed brake pads on all four wheels of the vehicle and resurfaced all four of his rotors. At the time of the service,**********s vehicle had 160,681 miles on the vehicle. Later, on 7/09/21********** had new rotors installed as the rotors currently on the vehicle were warped, causing the vehicle to shake while braking, mileage was 182,184 at the time of this repair. Sometime later in 2021,********** returned dissatisfied with our service, and he was issued a refund of $309. To address**********'s most recent complaint, He stated that the dealership told him he needed new brake pads. This is very reasonable as current milage of the vehicle is 201,639 and brake pads typically last 30,000-50,000 miles. Subtracting the most recent odometer reading to the reading taken on the date of the original brake pad replacement, you can see that********** has driven 40,958 miles since his original repair.********** was told he needed brakes on his car and nowhere in the documentation he provided does it say that the original repairs were done incorrectly. If repairs were done incorrectly, the brake pads would not have lasted the normal expected life of the brake pads.********** is unable to show documentation from the dealership that states Budget Brakes did the repairs incorrectly.
