On 11.27.2024 I went to Buget Brake for a 7:30 AM appointment. My vehicle had been making some mild noise while braking on hills. Also, the *** light and Brake light would intermittently appear on the dashboard if I drove over rough roads and would also disappear. I have a Lifetime Warranty for my brakes with Buget Brakes and wanted to make sure my vehicle was safe before driving long distance for Thanksgiving. The Manager I believe is ******* ****** advised me my brakes were ok and only needed cleaning and adjusting. They also bleed and fill the brake fluid and lastly said I needed Upper Ball Joints which were very costly. I agreed with recommendation. I work from home and don't use my car often. On 12/4/24, I noted my rear brake lights were constantly on. I called Budget Brakes and spoke to the manager. Initially, he said this may be an electrical issue and had nothing to do with the brake work they did. Later, he said there is part under the brake pedal that is fragile and may need to be replaced. He offered to look for the part in the shop and said he would call me back. I have not heard from him. I feel strongly this is related to the brake services they did. I did not have this problem prior to taking my vehicle to them. Please assist me with resolving this. It is a definite a safely concern if other drivers cannot tell when I am braking. I am also the breaks light will drain my battery, and I will be stranded.Business Response

On may 6 2024 I went to budget brake in ********** al for pads. Technician came out and said I needed new rotors cause mine were worn out of specifications Did not give me requirements or say what the thickness was Said they could not turn them.I never had heard any grinding or anything that could cause damage to rotors. I told him they should be turnable he said no. I told him if they required replacement to go ahead but I wanted the old rotors I called Miles at customer service and he only allowed a $100 dollar refund I took my old rotors to a reputable parts place and they measured using a calibrated micrometer said they could easily be turned once, maybe twice I called Miles again and he started saying my brakes would grab if they were turned but he did not offer any more help. I am a 79 year old guy on a fixed incomeand know brake work pretty well.In summary I was lied to by Budget Brakes and taken advantage of They sold me parts I did not need!!!!Invoice47953. estimate *****Business Response

************** brought his 2012 **** F-150, with ******* miles, to our ********************** location on May 6th, 2024, citing concerns about noisy brakes. Upon examination, our standard brake inspection revealed significant wear on the front brake pads, necessitating replacement. Given industry standards, we also recommended replacing the brake rotors to ensure optimal performance. This recommendation was made to uphold our commitment to quality service. ************** received an estimate for the necessary repairs and authorized the service accordingly.
Following the service, ************** expressed his dissatisfaction to our customer service representative. To address his concerns, we issued a partial refund of $100 as a gesture of goodwill.Initial Complaint

7 March 2024 I had brake service performed at the Budget Brakes location in *********** **. The mechanic inspecting my vehicle showed me two damaged studs on the wheel, and informed me that I should talk to Valvoline for compensation for the damange. The next day I was returning to *********** from Nashville and noticed that my hubcap was hanging off and noted that a lugnut was missing. I returned immediately to Budget Brakes. The mechanic remembered me and the work, and reiterated that I needed to talk with *********. I went to Valvoline on Dover Rd, and the manager agreed to split the cost of a new stud with me. I was sent over to the ************************* location. After arriving there, the mechanic inspects my vehicle. As Im waiting in the lobby he comes in and says he cant let me leave with the car the way it is. That confused me as Budget Brakes had told me again that morning that the vehicle was good to go. He takes me out to the car and shows me that the front driver side brake caliper was not complete. There was a bolt missing and the caliper was loose. The mechanic facetimed someone at Budget Brakes, informs him of the situation. He showed him the loose caliper. He agreed to bring over the requisite hardware to complete it. The Valvoline mechanic installed the part and they test drove my vehicle to QA/QC operation.Im requesting a full refund of the $745.05 I paid to compensate me for lost time, as a measure of not having gotten my money's worth, but moreso that there is some accountability and that mechanics there going forward do not repeat the same or similar errors.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Representative ***** agreed to send me a check for $166.48, which covers the cost of the labor to install the parts. Since no fault with the parts is expected, this closes this complaint.

I have had my vehicle since 2017, and I assume it still had all the factory installed parts on it at the time of purchase. Fast forward to 2/5/2022 (keep in mind that I have not had issues with the brakes until this date) I take my vehicle to Budget Brakes ******, **. to have a diagnostic, and service for grinding/ vibration. I was told I needed pads all for around, rotors on front, and rear rotors turned to the grand total of $688.18. The work was completed that day, and I continued driving like normal for the next few months until I started getting the same grinding/ vibration as before. I take the vehicle back to them on 06/11/2022, and was told the new rotors were already warped, and the back one's needed turned again. The technician said I must be riding my brakes for this to happen so soon (I said I am driving like I normally do), and proceeded to angerly redo the work at no cost to me. Fast forward again 02/06/2023 (less than 8 months later) and the brakes are having the same grinding/ vibration issues as before, so I take it to a local mechanic, and they proceed to tell me I need rotors all around this time, and new pads for a total of $721.21. I feel that Budget Brakes should either refund the original price I paid for the work they did, as I think they are using cheap/ after market parts on vehicles, or pay for the new work to be done, as their work hasn't even lasted a year. I have filed a complaint with Budget Brakes, but no one has bothered to respond.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:They have not contacted after our( BUDGET BRAKES), my initial conversation. He told me he would warranty all work, but hasn't contacted me with further instructions on when to take my vehicle in, and if the local business is aware of our agreement.

Last July I bought ******************************* from budget brakes. They told me I needed new ************* on the back and only new pads & a resurface on the front. After driving away and spending nearly $600 dollars it did not feel corrected. I took it back and they said you need rotors on the front also. I got new rotors put on for 20% off. It was still not fixed. I then took it back and they said they will fix it. This time I drove away and it was still not fixed. When you brake at high speeds the car shakes. I was out around $800 dollars and my brakes still were not fixed. I drove around with them like this until I was able to save enough money to get them properly done. I got them fixed this week with LAW Inc mechanic downtown. He said upon farther inspection the rotors did not fit on my car in the front and that they were not meant for my vehicle. He took them off and placed them in my trunk. He said that it is absurd and dangerous. I feel as if budget brakes took my money and did nothing for me. My brakes were worse after the "fix". I've left emails with no response. Why should I pay for this serviceBusiness Response
