We took my daughter's wedding dress to Karen based on reviews and recommendations. Karen had the dress for almost 4 months. I made it very clear we wanted the dress completed at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Almost all the alterations that were done on the dress was shoddy. Karen does not do the actual alterations nor does she check the work prior to the fitting. She had someone she was training work on the dress. Had I known that I would never have brought a $10,000 ******* ********* dress to Karen. On her wedding day my daughter had to leave her reception to go into the bathroom to mend her dress three times due to the shoddy work done. The bustle did not hold up. Immediately upon putting up the bustle 2 of the clear buttons came off and she had to sew them on herself in the bathroom. Then, shortly after that, the snaps to the underlayer did not hold. Finally, the third time in the bathroom, she literally had to sew the layers together in order for the bustle to hold. It did not hold and by the end of the night the bustle was not fully up. It is no surprise as the bustle was not what we had discussed and it had to be completely redone within 48 hours of the wedding. In additions, the straps were too tight and not adjusted properly, the zipper was digging into my daughter's back and created a sore on it. It was an absolutely seamless zipper until it was worked on at Karen's and they ruined it! The day we went to pick up the dress, there were threads all over the areas worked on and the siding was scrunched up. It truly was heartbreaking to see such a gorgeous dress have such messy work done. They spent 4 hours basically redoing all the shoddy work 48 hours before the wedding. The stress it caused my daughter was completely unnecessary. Karen should be ashamed and embarrassed for allowing such poor workmanship. To charge $900 for this work was unacceptable. I have asked for a refund with no reply from Karen.
