  My complaint is also concerning billing charges. Due to medications I take, I have to get a TB test regularly. Since I have no health insurance and pay cash, I always ask up front how much lab fees, etc will be. I was told that my TB lab test would cost $120 when I called and then I was again told it would cost $120 when I went in to the lab before having the test. Scott & White, where my previous rheumatologist was, charged me $200 for the same test. In the lab on Hickory Street, when I started to pay for the test, I was told they would just bill me. I was prepared to pay that day and had already pulled my debit card out. Their representative didn’t want to take my payment & insisted that they would just send me a bill. When I received my bill, they had charged $886! That’s a crazy amount for one simple tube of blood! After calling multiple times & even contacting my doctor, I was told that the $120 quote was only good at time of service - although their lab personnel never told me that and discouraged me from making payment at the time of service! If Scott & White charges nearly $700 less for the exact same test, Hendrick is scamming people. Their billing department personnel are rude and not helpful. The person in the lab who wouldn’t accept my payment certainly NEVER mentioned that the $120 he quoted me was only the price at time of service when he said “they will send you a bill”. And the billing department person I spoke with on the phone who quoted me $120 certainly never mentioned that the price was only good at time of service. This is extremely poor business & reflects very badly on a hospital that claims to be “Christ centered”.

  Had a rough year with visits from 3 of our family of 4. Medical staff was great as usual this time and in past years. But the billing issues are horrendous and likely illegal. 45k for a day surgery? We were there less than 5 hours! Nonprofit my __! Get the cost in writing up front before you tell them you have insurance. We will not be back currently looking for another hospital in the DFW area.

  I was told it was going to be no more than 286.00 when I called to ask about self pay. When I got there I was there for 30 mins and got a steroid shot. Great NP, but when checking out was told it was 130.00 I paid in full. After I left I got a bill for 395.00 more. Absolutely obscured. I’ve called the clinic and billing twice. This is absolutely ridiculous I will never return. This was Buffalo Gap Rd location

  Asked for financial assistance before I got treatment so I would know of I could afford it. They said I could use their resources dept for assistance but neglected to tell me I didn't meet their criteria. They gave me a $7500 bill I can't pay and wont provide any financial assistance. I will die before I ever return to the hospital that as a MONOPOLY in the city of Abilene
