I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. The communication and customer service is terrible. If you do speak to them, it is rude, dismissive and shady. I'll follow up when I receive my merchandise back or a check....I have read other reviews, and have called my lawyer. Beware.Review from Lou S

I have been a customer of **********************, both buying and selling numismatic items since the mid 2010s. I have had mostly positive experiences the few times I have interacted with their customer service staff.I had a difference of opinion with them last year which required me to contact a corporate staff member but it was quickly resolved in a respectful manner and to my satisfaction with a clear and detailed explanation. The only concern I have is that although their photographs are usually outstanding, occasional items received, though still within the grade assigned, will have less eye appeal than pictured. Despite this, I recommend Heritage auctions most highly. I am frequently pleasantly surprised at the items which are presented at auction.Thank you for the opportunity to comment.Review from Saeed A

There are several faults at this place:1- They are very late on shipping the banknotes 2- Their customers or bidders are not transparent which by itself shows there is something wrong with their strategy working on hidden terms 3- On a recent situation on their LIVE AUCTION process system a major fault was noticed!(a banknote which was not among the notes I had interest in showed up suddenly and I was billed for it).**************, PhDReview from David L

If I was to truly rate Heritage Auctions I would rate them with a zero score because of an employee by the name of *************************. We'll let me tell you this much this is when wata game *************** first opened up. I contacted several auction companies in regards to selling everything I owned in my vintage video game collection. I had roughly 631 NES video games CIB. 22 FIRST EDITION BLACK BOX GAMES, 719 SNES GAMES CIB FEW SEALED. Well I was told by this person here that I had nothing in my entire collection of value & he also asked me how was I buying these items cause if I am a disabled veteran who is in ill health then how is it that I could afford to buy these games. I told them my wife works & I receive 80% disability income from the ***************** and social security. This person said to me I should focus on not buying junk games & focus on getting better & that Heritage Auctions doesn't sell anything that hasn't been graded already and that I needed to have a single item in my collection worth upwards of $10K. And funny thing is I have sold to people such as ***************** from mcmrose.com and we'll I have had very nice games a graded CIB 9.2 Metal Storm NES sold on **** one week ago for $1K+ and I have sold everything on **** for $49,700 so I don't think I had nothing in value. I also don't like how this person contacted Social Security and I was investigated up until they seen the fact my wife works & how I recently sold around 77K video games to *********************** owner of pricecharting.com. So that being said social security dropped their investigation & were extremely sorry for having to interact with me & when I threatened a lawsuit against them they told me who it was to file a claim on me which was ************************* from ha.com. As well as they do sell non-graded video games & comic books, I was told my comics were worth $150 for 9 long boxes and I sold them on **** for $147,900. So the fact that they don't help all people especially veterans I hate HA 100%Heritage Auctions Response

Buyer from ***********, item shipped without consulting of shipping fees and Heritage decided to charge way beyond what is a standard charge. Considering I had sent a 3kg package to the ** for $140NZD less than what I was charged $470NZD for an item that weighs 500grams, its clear to see where the mark up is being made. Not a service Id use again or would encourage others too if you dont like non disclosed charges.Heritage Auctions Response

We charged our standard discounted ***** rate for a shipment of this size from the ** to ***********. Due to this being an international shipment, we charged based on the actual shipment itself, so the cost is unknown until the item is packaged and ready to ship. We have offered the client a coupon for the total amount paid for shipping and they indicated that they were happy we reached out and satisfied with our offer to resolve.Review from Joseph R

Terrible communications between salesman and seller . Poor response time to questions Could be a salesman problem and not the organization itself . First time I used heritage and second guessing if I made a mistakeReview from Sanford F

All of the following is documented in emails between me and people who work at Heritage. I consigned a Tom Patti sculpture that has been in my family for years. It has significant value. Heritage made many mistakes in almost every step of the consignment process. Mistake 1. I was told the consignment would give Heritage 15% of the sale price with no additional fees of any kind. This was not true. In the contract Heritage gave me there was a 20% fee. There was also a $300 fee for special photography. Even though the above terms were different than what I was told by Heritage, I let it go in the interest of being an easy to work with person. Mistake 2. The photo Heritage took of my consigned sculpture was dark and did not show important details of the sculpture. Mistake 3. I was told by someone at Heritage that the dark photo would be replaced by 4 better photos to make possible buyers more likely to buy this beautiful glass sculpture. Mistake 4. The above promise by the person at Heritage was not kept. It is now approximately 4 days into the online auction and the old, dark photo which obscures much of the sculpture detail is still being used. I'm not mentioning names because my intent is to be treated fairly. MISTAKE 4. I was told by email that my sculpture would be given a featured status. It was not. The following would be a fair acceptable solution: Heritage, please put my consigned sculpture in a new auction with 4 clear pictures. This was promised but not delivered. Right now, people have seen the sculpture represented by a dark photo that obscures much of the sculpture. The above is all I want, nothing more. All of the above is documented in email exchanges. This is a very important auction for me. The sculpture is a beautiful piece of art done by a famous glass sculptor. I don't want the sculpture back since it's glass and might get damaged in transit. People at Heritage, could we please solve this in a way both sides are happy with? Please. It's an easy solution: put my sculpture in a new auction with the 4 good photos you promised me in an email which I have saved. That's all I am asking for. Nothing else. Heritage, let's please work together so you can get your commission and I can get the remainder of the auction price. To everyone at Heritage that I have dealt with thank you for reading this. I think we can solve this in a way that works well for both sides. Thank you again and best wishes.Heritage Auctions Response

This has been resolved. With travel and Covid there certainly was a delay in communications, for which we apoligize.
