This Company called my business to verify if "it went out of business." I asked clarifying questions because it seemed fishy. The person yelled at me and said, "what do I care if it is not my business." Well, since I have the same type of business and the same phone number I am very concerned about a stranger cold calling me and potentially listing my business as "out of business." They will now not return phone calls. I don't know who they are, what they are doing or why they are looking into the validity of my business. Plus she was just very RUDE!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for any confusion or frustration caused by the call from our company. Please accept our sincerest apologies.

Our team member was conducting a routine verification process to ensure accurate information in our business listings database.

We value your feedback and would be happy to address your concern directly. We want to make sure that your business is not marked as out of business (as was your concern) without further clarification from you! If you happen to remember the callers name or if you are willing to share your company name, we will forward that information to the appropriate team to address..

Again, were very sorry for your experience and thank you for taking the time to let us know.

I am rejecting this response because:   They have still not offered an explanation as to why my business being open is of their concern. The original representative was incredibly rude. Will they be providing additional training to this person? I need to ensure they are not listing my business as closed on any websites, social media, print media or any other platform. They are being evasive with what they are doing with this information.

The bottom line my concern is my business is not listed as closed.

Their website doesn't work when attempting to remove my data/opt out it just keeps "loading" with the loading icon and never does anything. It seems they don't want to let us opt out and maintain our personal data privacy.

I have never provided this business my information. They continue to call me, and if I ask them any questions about their services they hang up on me. This has gone from cold-calling to continued spam calls

      Business Response

      Date: 08/07/2024

We have done extensive internal research on the complainants contact information within our systems and databases.

We see there is a contact record for this person in our ********** but there is absolutely no activity on it - no phone calls, no emails - nothing.

Additionally, we then checked with our tele-research department, thinking they may have been reaching out to confirm the complainant's business or consumer information for our databases. They, however, show no record of this phone number in any of our databases.

We will need more information on who from Data Axle has been calling and more details on the nature of the call - what specifically are they calling about.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/07/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

I was contacted at July 29 at 9:10 AM PST
I was contacted on Jul 30 at 8:16 AM PST

I was contacted  on Jul 31 at 8:57AM PST

Quite frankly, calling with a robodialer that rejects call backs *************) is an issue in itself. The lack of records in ********** does not mean you did not continue to contact me, this stopped only once I filed my complaint with the BBB.

I've attached a screenshot of the call history incoming from the business

      Business Response

      Date: 08/07/2024

We appreciate the screenshot showing the phone number the calls are coming from. This can help us research further.

But can the complainant please advise on the nature/topic of the calls? What are they asking for? Are they asking to clarifying contact information, trying to sell you something? We need more context as to what the call messages are about to identify the source of them within the company to resolve and ensure the calls do not continue.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/07/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

The complaint is directed at your business due to the fact that I continuously received unsolicited calls. When connected to one of your representatives, I asked what the call was in relation to, and they hang up on me. I tried to call your business directly from my personal line but automatically disconnected.

Cold-calling repeatedly and not speaking to the nature of the calls is why I filed this complaint.

Our representative attempted to resolve this back in December with replacement data. The customer insisted on a refund at that time, so he was refunded the full amount of his order on Dec 26th, 2023 confirmed via invoice history.

I bought a list from Exact Data in ******* which is owned by Data Axle. I reached out to this company to buy a list of companies to start a mass email campaign. I wanted and expected **** companies to market to across 5 states. On Monday the 8th **** I paid $1000 for that list. Upon receiving it the list I saw they sent me **** contacts but from the same company. For example: *********** had 50 contacts. The deal was to market to different companies across multiple industries not **** employees from a handful of companies. It appears I received less than half of what I was expecting. I emailed ********************* twice and left a voicemail and I have not heard back.

I worked with *********************** and ***************************** as a client since 2018. Prior to that I worked with them under another account name. In total over 10 years. Recently, i had an issue with them because they billed my card, that was not to be saved by them on account. ***** and I had many phone conversations in which I explained that I did not want a card kept on file due to a security concern. He told me he understood and i would be billed monthly via a link that i could use to upload my payment information for the month. He reassured me several times that he understood. Well, last month when I decided to temporarily suspend my account, I received notice that from my bank. I had been automatically debited for one more month. I reached out to ***** immediately and he assured me he would resolve it with his accounting department. Instead, they refused to reimburse me. They wrongfully charged my card without my consent and have not to-date reimbursed me. This is how they repay their customer loyalty after so many years. STay away from them. There are honest reputable companies out there that will not compromise their ethics over a less than $100 charge.

The customer called in on November 21 asking to cancel their subscription. Our terms require a 30-day written notice to cancel any subscription.

As the customers subscription bills on the 17th of each month, the customer did not meet the ****** cancellation requirement for the December 17 bill, yet we agreed to cancel their subscription as an act of goodwill.

Additionally, the customer was on a ******** subscription, and we allowed them to cancel with 5 months remaining on the contract.

We went above and beyond to accommodate the customers request.

I recently signed up services at Data Axle and one of the sales employees, *****, told me that I would be able to sign up for the service and cancel whenever I wanted as long as it was within 3 months of the original purchase. They also promised high quality data and I called over 400 leads without a single appointment being set. When I tried cancelling my subscription, they are now informing me that I have a 3 months commitment - which is exactly what the salesperson said would not happen. I feel that this agreement was a form of entrapment and they are trying to force me to pay for a product that doesn't work well at all. This is seriously disappointing.

We apologize for the misunderstanding and inconvenience this has caused. We reminded ************** of his three-month term commitment and even offered to replace the data he received, but he ultimately declined and requested that his contract be cancelled. As a gesture of goodwill, we cancelled ****************** account as of 11/21/23, per his request.

The company is selling personal information without permission. They sell hundreds of thousands of data points + personal data (name, address, email, phone, demographics, etc) without anyones permission. Additionally, if you want to "opt out," you are require to send them more data about yourself, including all of the addresses you have lived in for the last 5 years, and then wait weeks for a determination/decision. This is not legal. The company does not have my permission to use my personal data, and I am positive millions of others feel the the same way.

I am receiving unsolicited faxes from various businesses, mainly in commercial enterprises. We are a residential home that does not wish to receive these unsolicited faxes. Originally, the company was called INFO USA. I have called each of these private contractors and asked them to remove our phone number from their calling. They indicated to me to call *** company to prevent this. The *** perpetrator does nothing as we continue to receive additional faxes. They are not handling this responsibility. Today *** was received at 8:46 AM from "UT" ************. When you call DATA AXLE - ***, no one answers the phone. You are instructed to leave your name, phone number, and the reason for your call.
