I am sharing my recent experience at Texas Bay Credit Unions ************* location on March 31, 2025. I visited the branch at 1:30 PM to open a new savings account, bringing my drivers license, a photo of my Social Security card, and my U.S. passport. The Assistant Branch Manager, ***** ****, assisted me. After verifying my identification and consulting a colleague for approximately 20 minutes, she informed me that I needed to present my original Social Security card and passport.Following these instructions, I returned at 2:45 PM with the requested documents and my 2023 and 2024 income tax returns, per Cammys request. After reviewing my records, she identified a minor discrepancy: my passport listed my middle name in full, while my Social Security card displayed only the first initial of the second part of my middle name. She then spent more than 30 minutes consulting with a colleague before ultimately denying my application due to this mismatch.I fully understand that financial institutions must verify identity documents. However, the lack of clear guidance, conflicting instructions, and excessive delays created an unnecessarily frustrating experience. If name formatting is such a critical factor, this should have been clarified upfrontbefore I was asked to return with additional documents that were ultimately deemed unacceptable.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. While we truly appreciate your time and effort in providing the required documents, unfortunately, we were unable to verify all the necessary details on the ************ discussed during your visit at the branch, while our team carefully reviewed the documents, we noticed several discrepancies, which prevented us from proceeding with your request at this time. Our goal is always to provide clear guidance and efficient service, while ensuring we meet all necessary verification requirements.

I joined the credit union because I wanted to be treated like a human being not a number like a national bank. After 4 years with NO overdrafts or any other issues, my mother in law wrote me a check just north of $90k. I deposited in on a Friday and they said there would be a hold. I get it. Thats common for a check that size. On Monday, the check she wrote cleared her credit union. On Wednesday, 5 days after it was deposited, I called to ask if they could release the funds. The lady on the phone said she would submit the request and someone would get to it by Friday. She also said, if they can't release all of the funds, would there be lesser amount that would "help". I said $25,000 would be fine. She then asked what the funds would be used for. Is that really any of her, or the credit unions business? It is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS what the funds are for. Church donation, Vegas trip, hookers and blow? A violation of privacy on their part! Well, on Friday, I called to see what their "ruling" was. I had to wait 17 minutes to get to a human. I was then put on hold to be transferred to the branch manager because I requested to speak to the manager of my branch. The call was disconnected 10 minutes later while I was on hold. I called back in and waited another 16 minutes to get to a human. They said they would not release ANY of the funds. THE CHECK HAS BEEN CLEARED NOW FOR 8 DAYS!!!! 1. YOU are just a number. They are like allllllll the national banks in that they will only loan you an umbrella on a sunny day. NO advantage to a credit union and NO quantity of locations. 2. You will be treated like a common criminal and disrespected after years of banking with them and you will have to ask mommy for an allowance and explain what you want to spend YOUR money on. 3. You WILL NEVER get a call back from the actual branch manager. (Still haven't spoken to her. It is now Sunday, 10 days after the check was deposited.)

Poor customer service. Do not seek to understand and resolve customer issues not interested in whatever customer situation are .the branch services lack professional help as well as the support center.the issue arose when the family purchased a car for our daughter in with the credit union adds insurance by a 3 party. We tried to resolve the problem provided the proper documentation but help from any one from this business.later a $3,000 insurance was added again to the loan which I disputed and just received a refund. To any one that is looking a reliable bankers and loans support this bank has none at all.

I have been with Texas Bay for years. Never late on any of my accounts. Paying my bills through the night I accidentally input the wrong checking account number in (I number off) and I also set up automatic payment. My payment was only $17. Several weeks later I received a call for Texas bay stating that my payment was late. I explained to the rep that I was setup on autopay After research the rep advised me that the account number was input wrong. I corrected the issue immediately and also caught up the bill and paid the following month because I did not want this to affect my credit. I ask the rep would this report to my credit she said it should not since they can see that I had indeed made the $17 payent on time and it was a honest mistake since I never been was late on any of my accounts with them. Several months later checking my credit April 2022 I received a 30 day late ding on my credit profile. Which brought my husband and I score down over 40 points. I immediately called them to see if they could remove the 30 day late as a courtesy since they saw I made the $17 payment it just was an honest mistake. They advised me that they will not remove the 30 day late I explained to them that we were in the process of purchasing a house and they are the only lates we had on our account in years and for a $17 mistake our credit is affect drastically. But they don't care. I will be closing all my accounts and credit cards because they don't care about there loyal customers. And the funny thing about this is that I send all my clients to this bank to open accounts and get credits card. I will not refer anyone to them because they do not care about their honest customers ?? If you are ever in a bind Texas Bay Federal credit union is not an option. $17 is costing me thousands of dollars If I could give a 0 I would.

Refuse to accept my payment on a loan because my husband had a loan in his name paying late and a credit card in his name only but I was told in order to get my loan I had to sign on his credit card to add an additional $4000 or $3000 so I did and paid off my portion but since he's late they cleared out my checking account which was in my name only and put toward his payments. Every time I pay my loan they put it to his and consider my loan as being late and charge me late fees. Now they want to threaten me as to take my vehicle because I'm late which really I wasn't if they would've applied the payment in the right place. I even paid $600 plus in May they applied everything to his accounts and nothing again to my account they stated they can apply the money where it's late so my answer to them so I'm paying on time but you're making me late and on top of that charging me late fees and she said yes with no remorse. After years with this credit union I closed my checking account and advise no one to ever get any type of loan with them. Poor customer service wait in long lines and then can't get a correct answer. Rude people in credit feel they can talk to you any way and get good results. Wait for 2-3 hours before someone can answer your question and still don't give you a correct answer. If i need to take further action I will.

I have been having a hard time with my bills and I am 40+ days late with my credit card. So Monica called me at 9:39am, while I was still asleep. I then got a text message from her at 9:55am. I responded to the text message at 11:15am when I woke up tell her when I would be able to make a payment. At 1:45pm I got a text from my stepmother that Monica had called her and left a voicemail trying to reach me. I haven't lived with my parents in over 10 years which is before I even opened my account at Texas bay. Then at 1:49pm my EX mother in law messaged me saying Monica called her! There was no reason for her to call anyone but me or my husband! I get it if I avoided her call multiple times or went a week without speaking to her. But it hadn't even been 24 hrs before her first contact with me.

I was a member with Texas Bay, people don't get multiple loans with them. Why if one of your accounts are late they default all of them. They totally black mail you for payments of all. They threat you with repo on all. I caught COVID pneumonia everything went belly up. I even had disability insurance on one . Claim was denied reason they said already had the illness. Due to COVID it flared up. They are rude not caring behind on technology. Can't make weekends deposits cash because close at 90 percent of there locations. People don't bank here no over draft privilege when needed. They make money supporting your loans. Than when you hit a brick wall . Start collections proceedings against all your loans. They really needs to be investigated. This bank practice dirty trades against the customers. Smile n your face but very deceiving when things get rough.
