      So two weeks ago I GOT HIT BY A CAR!!! I've been out of work since then & found out today that I would be out of work for 6 more weeks. I called to talk to someone about my bill & the fact that I don't have any money right now because I'M NOT WORKING!! Everyone I spoke to basically said if I didn't pay them, I would be without lights & a broken ankle. I FINALLY got someone to take the only money I was given to put an extension on my account.... But it's only gonna be for a week. Don't know if I will have any money by then either.

      DO NOT use Reliant Energy!! They told me that the 10 day grace period was added into the billing cycle, and that if I was going to be two days past the due date that I would be charged a reconnection fee. I had been a good customer and not ever late on any payments in 3 years. They are breaking Texas law that says you have 10 days AFTER THE BILL IS DUE. I’m going back to ****** ******.

      Reliant energy personnel lied to me to get me to sign up and when I called twenty minutes later was told I would receive a bill , service was not transferred and I had just agreed to change my service but when I called twenty minutes later was told I would receive a bill this young man came to my home unsolicited and Insisted he could give me a better price and he had just signed my neighbor and in fact had not even talked to my neighbor, so he lied and I have no way of knowing what else he lied about .told me they were going to bill me for today’s service ,was told they were cancelling the transaction and gave me a number

      I was in ******* recovering from Covid...An agent walks up to me and sells me some lines on why i should switch from *** and sign up with the...They told me they would handle the last bil and disconnecting fee..1st lie....So i changed from *** who i've been with for 7 years..To Reliant....They did'nt help with the switch..I paid ***..So i got help to pay the 1st bill to Reliant...They had the nerve to tell me i did'nt pay the bill..The people that helped me pay the bill paid the bill...They told me they were cheaper then ***...I got the next bill for $177...I was livid..So i went back to ***...Then i get a bill from them for $ 499...They took advantage of me...And lied...Please help me resolve this..So i can go back to Having *** handling my energy then these crooks....

      STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I switched to Reliant for only one month. The first bill was almost double the price of the highest bill I had ever previously paid through my previous provider so I went to switch. The rude service lady I spoke with did not even try to retain me as a customer. She didn't offer me any other plans or try to keep me as their customer. I explained to her that the billing was not fair and that I was not happy. She wrote me off and was very rude throughout the entire process. I told her that I would need a few days to switch providers. She said that she would send over the final bill and request that I pay the $295 cancellation fee. I then switched to *** and I thought all was well. I got home a little after 5pm to discover my power had been disconnected. I attempted to call Reliant but it was after hours by then so they were not willing to help any. I called *** to see what was happening but they too were after hours. I then called ***** to see what could be done about the power issue. They told me that Reliant put in a cancellation order instead of a transfer order and that nothing could be done until the next day. I called Reliant again and they said my account had been closed that day and that they could no longer assist me. *** said that it was after hours and that no work orders for power could be done until the next business day. ***** said that they could not do anything without a work order. So here I am sitting without power, over 100 degrees outside, all of my food is ruining from my refrigerator and no one can do anything to help. To say that I am pissed off is an understatement. Hundreds of dollars worth of food is ruining, I am on the verge of a heat stroke, and yet there is nothing that I can do. This should be illegal!!!

      We started off so well with Reliant, but then our bills started increasing and finally topped out at around $325 a month. We were told to sign up for average billing to keep our bill at a consistent price to save money, so we did. We received *** orders outside of Texas so we requested disconnection and sent in our *** orders. Our last bill was paid on 25 July 2024, but our landlord requested we disconnect our electricity on 1 August 2024 which would only be 7 days after the billing cycle. Our usage for those 7 days of no one being at the home was $232.91 and then Reliant added $280.93 for the average billing totaling the bill to $513.84. My husband and I called and were hung up on numerous times and then transferred to supervisors and whoever else they could pull no help. No one from the Company said the average billing would be added back to our final bill. I have exhausted all means to try to resolve this issue with the company. I understand paying for the usage but to add the money they saved us back to the bill is ridiculous and scam like. The company reached out about making it right under another review I left and nothing so I wasted my time. I took screenshots of the chat with the agent this morning. I am in such awe at the lack of care with this company. I am letting my loved ones and Soldiers know don’t use this company some people cannot afford the added charges

      Horrible! You call the customer service number only to get agents who have thick accents & language barriers. It only intensifies an issue more at this point when you cannot understand someone & need help & answers. They also are no help since Hurricane Beryl. They want you to pay your electric bill for days you were without power & stated to call Centerpoint for adjustments. After speaking with Centerpoint they redirected me back to Reliant because Centerpoint stated they don't have the ability to make any adjustments at this time. The most difficult part in this whole mess is we the consumers were left in 100° weather with no power, children were hungry, food spoiled again (I was affected by the Tornado on May 16,2024 also & received no help from Reliant with that bill) & no one can or will help us. Instead we're just redirected back & forth between our electricity provider & Centerpoint & no one wants to take accountability & help us, however, they're constantly begging for the public's trust. How can we trust anything? I took a screenshot on July 16,2024 on Reliant energy's website when attempting to view my bill that stated South Texas customers affected by Beryl wouldn't be charged but that was a lie!

      I have been a customer for over a decade and I should have ended my contract so much sooner. I called about receiving a credit for losing power during Hurricane Beryl for over a week, 6 months pregnant, with two small children in the house. They asked me who I heard I should be receiving the credit from (did a friend tell me that?), then told me I called a day late, then when I spoke to somebody above the representative I was told they're out of allocated funds. I was then told I wasn't allowed to speak with management. The issues didn't start here. In the past, I've had four different representatives tell me that I was enrolled in automated payment and I kept receiving shut off notices for nonpayment. The fifth representative finally informed me that nobody should have told me I was enrolled as I was attempting to connect the account to my debit card, and the system only takes credit cards. There was a prompt that popped up on each of these phone calls that said that card couldn't be used for the reoccuring payment system. Instead of asking me to connect to a credit card, each representative just skipped, passed and passed me along as they were lazy and didn't feel like doing their job. The customer service is incompetent. It is also shady to me that three different excuses were used to prevent me with a $75 credit that was owed to me for being affected by a natural disaster. I would think the full power bills over decades would be more valuable to them than letting met speak with somebody that is able to do their job, but there is no integrity at this company on multiple different facets so I will be taking my business elsewhere and suggesting that everybody who wants to hear about it does the same.

      10 year customer. Beyond upset with reliant. I asked to speak with a supervisor regarding a situation in renewal of a contract. The representative said one was not available. After hearing that my business wasn’t completely lost and stating I needed a manger to call me back. He stated “well I am a manager.” Which is ridiculous after asking to escalate the situation and a blatant lie to try and sway my decision. After that I asked for a call back if my business wanted to be won. After a week I called back to ensure there was nothing else I needed to do to terminate with them. The supervisor at that time stated there was no note on my account regarding a call back from communication that day. I asked him “Erwin” to review the call from that day. He said it was “miscommunication.” After further discussion I asked , “Was I blatantly lied to regarding my service by dishonest and blatantly awful customer service? Or was the employee that helped me prior just that dumb?” The answer by Erwin on the RECORDED line, was that the employee was “just that dumb.” I am beyond disgusted regarding this place , and their customer service. I requested a $88 bill credit to be applied to my account to offset any additional fees we will have upon expiration of contract and was denied. Due to “miscommunication,” when in reality I was deliberately lied to and given the worst customer service of any service provider I’ve ever experienced.

      My name is Azita ********** and was a customer of Reliant energy for 21 years. I have been very good customer and always pay on time. Since last June of 2023 they sign me up for what they said free nights and weekends and was told my electricity will not going to be more than $53.00 once my average billing go back down. Well for a year I was paying $161.00 a month. I live by myself and I don’t cook. I was out of house most of time because of my work. Basically I come home to sleep at night. I don’t understand why my bill never got down and when I talked to their customer service they keep telling me it is because of average billing and should go down soon. I call them in May and was told I have credit of $115.00 that can be use on next month and also they will take me off average billing. This way my bill will go down right away to $60.00/month. I might not even have to pay anything in June. Well I got my bill in June and it was $157.00. They basically jacked up my bill and use my credit. They asking me to give them more money. I was worried that they go higher price on my electricity. So I called their cancelation department and let them know that I was thinking of canceling my service and explain my situation. The representative told me he will cancel my service. I asked if I need to pay anything he said no. Therefore I canceled my service. Now I got a bill for $399.00. I can’t afford that. And when I call back they were very rude to me. .
