Al-anon meeting on February 15 2023 10am. I and my Service Dog went to my Al-Anon meeting at Holy Name Passionate Retreat Center 430 Bunker Hill Houston Tx 77024 I was told by the church staff that they wanted to speak to me. I have been coming, since, just before Christmas, with my service dog. I come in, I go to the corner, (out of the way), so my dog is not in the walk way, he is leashed, does not bark, does not bite, has had no accidents. He is friendly. He did get away from me 1 time, it has not happened again. I have a vest and ID card from Assistance dogs of America-for Diabetic. The Administrator, James Anderson, called me into his office, with the door open, and 4 other people joined in, I felt, I was being ganged up on. Mr. Anderson, stated, that he had received complaints about my service dog. They all were demanding on seeing my dog's papers, demanding on knowing where he was trained. I replied, that by law, they were not allowed to ask that question and I did not have to provide that information. Then referred them to ADA.gov and Title III. There was one lady, who I thought was church staff, was demanding, that I show papers and tell them where he was trained. I kept saying ADA.gov, Title III. She stated, if the dog was really trained, I would give her the information. She claimed that she has a therapy dog, but, does not bring him. She also is the one that was always say, my dog was always scared. At this point, I turned to Mr. Anderson, I asked for his business card, which he willing gave me. I then stated, I disagreed with him, but, I realized he was doing what he thought was right. I then stated, I will leave, but, I will be reporting him, He stated that was fine. As I was leaving Mr. Anderson's Office, I had 3 staffers follow me, like I was a thief or something. I turned and the lady who was demanding the dog's papers, was behind me, I thought she was a staffer, but, she was actually someone in the meeting and sitting one sit over from me.
