My father in law is 82 years old. Apparently there was some issues with Medicare and payment going to this organization. When they reached out, they spoke to him. He didn't understand what they were trying to tell him, again he is 82 years old. He just asked them not to come get his chair he needed it. He is wheelchair bound and requires it for mobility, independence, and dignity. His chair was recently broken and required repairs. Great American Mobility showed up at their door, lied about coming to fix the wheel chair and needing to take it to their truck to work on it. My mother in law believed them and got him into his bed so they could work on the chair. Turns out that was all a lie. They were there to repossess the chair. The took his chair and explained to my mother in law that it wasn't paid for. It was the first she heard about it. So after hours of phone calls with them, Medicare, and a few others it was eventually figured out. It was an incredibly easy fix. Why that fix and communication wasn't standard and something that came only after my father in law wept because he could no longer move around his house, is unknown to me. Your organization robbed this veteran of his dignity. Being wheelchair bound was already challenging. Accepted new limitations is already hard. To make that entire experience even worse is unforgivable and you should be ashamed of how you treated this war veteran. Take your business elsewhere. People that put their life on the line for this country deserve far better. Your organization is disgusting.

Great American Mobility and Medical Equipment Response

I am very sorry that you feel the experience you have had with us was not satisfactory. The client was very aware that they had received a manual wheelchair from another company and were told they would need to have the company pick this up or we would have to pick up our chair. The chair was delivered in 12/21 and we tried for 3 months to obtain the pick up ticket. At this time we let the client know that we would need to pick our chair up, and at that time our attempts to reach the client went unanswered for the next 2 months. We are still currently working with the client and let them know that if they can obtain a pick up ticket we will be happy to return the equipment. We have tried to be as informative and helpful as we can and I am sorry that this has not been relayed to you. Pleas let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

After working with them for over a year, they still can’t produce a receipt for payment made so our insurance can pay us back for the $4,600+ out of pocket expenses. Just lazy, they rarely reach out to me and when they do it is weeks after I’ve left message after message. Just terrible to work with. Their paperwork is usually not filled out correctly if at all. Use ANYONE else if you can.

Sir, I apologize if you feel that you have not received everything that you are needing. I have spoken to the staff and they told me that they have sent you records of the payments that we were paid from you. We are not able to post your payment until after the insurance pays their part. At that time we will be able to generate a receipt for you and send it. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact me as well.
