      I contacted American Steel Carports to build a barn for me. Two of the roll up doors have been hard to operate since day 1 and Ive tried to contact them to come out and look at them. I have called them multiple times as well as through email. Ive been in contact with someone that isnt involved in the service department who has said they have sent me messages on but to this day no one has come out or contacted me to schedule a look and repair/adjsutment. The barn was completed in June and I contacted them the first time in August and was told that the service manager would be in contact with me. I heard nothing and contacted them again in September and again heard nothing. Ive since been in contact with *********************** who works with the company but not in the service department as that is the only direct contact I have.

      On 5/25/2023, I contracted with Am Steel to construct a 60x30x14 garage with a 20 year warranty. There were a lot of issues prior to & during construction, but here are the current issues: door was not installed properly (steel was cut wider at top than bottom, making it hard to open the door), the building allowed rain to enter all around the base, upper portion of installed roof trim is bent, and a piece of wall trim was torn off during high winds despite the wind guarantee. I have tried by email and telephone to get resolution since mid-October to no avail. My husband has replaced the door and purchased/used FlexSeal around the base (inside and outside) to address the leak issue. We have spent about $500 plus my husband's labor to correct the issues. We have not been able to find the right red trim to replace the trim that was torn off. I have sent pictures of all the issues, but company refuses to contact me or address the issues.

      I should have accessed your last email, but I find the process cumbersome.  

       

      American Steel only contacted me last week and will supposedly show up Feb. 4, Sunday.  We'll see.  It shouldn't take five months for a company to contact a customer after being notified of a problem.  Seems I had to file a BBB complaint before they decided to contact me.

       

      Just wanted to provide an accurate update.

      I have contacted this office numerous times about a problem with the metal building that they built. One of the wall panels was improperly installed causing it to buckle during installation. I have sent pictures of the problem and they confirm they have received it. The pictures were sent October 23, 2023. As of this date no scheduled time or day has been established to correct the problem. I just want job completed.

      Reference complaint # ********. The business answered this BBB complaint stating they would fix the problem the week of November 27th. They called me November 18th and said they would be here on Saturday December 2nd between 7:30 and 8:00 am. When they didn't come I called the ******** office and was told they were delayed and would be here between 3 and 5 pm. They never came.

      There is an amount that has been disputed/discounted by the customer. We believe it is the amount the locksmith charged the customer. So essentially the customer may have already been reimbursed. **************** will contact the customer tomorrow to verify.

      Im of the many emails I have sent with no response. This sums up issue week. At what point is an inconvenience refund offered. It is now been nine weeks since placing my order and I still do not have a usable building. I opted to go with American steel carports because the reviews of amazing customer service. I have not experienced that at all. I chose American steel carports because the leadtime on installation was 2 to 4 weeks compared to the 8 to 10 weeks from your competitors. And we are now at nine weeks with no use of our building. I chose to pay $1700 more than your competitor for the same product to be able to experience the great customer service and speedy lead times. Neither have meet even a fraction of what I had hoped for. Countless phone calls, never replied to or returned. Extremely disappointed.Back story I understand that leveling is on the purchaser. I believe that the site was level within the allowance. I used strings to map it out and it appeared to be level with in 2-4 inches. The crew was scheduled to install it Friday 9-22-23 they showed up Thursday 9-21-23 with no warning. Leaving only my 15 YO son home. As they built the structure they clearly found the ground was much less level than I believed. 8 inches off on one side. They went around and found bricks and blocks to put under the sides not touching the ground. If they would have came at the scheduled time I would have denied the build and worked to level the building site. In addition they did not fallow the contract and placed a frame out in the wrong location making the design of the building unusable till it is corrected. The communication with this company is terrible and the staff is less than friendly once a problem has accrued. I dont understand how a mistake in their part does not make the repair top priority for them. But that is not the case. I hope this can be resolved and look forward to making a response on the outcome of the repair/refund!

      I entered into a contract with a representative (***********************) on 9/22/2023 for the install of a 20x20 barn with a lean to. We had some communication mishaps with the rent-to-own company but managed to rectify these issues by October 16, 2023. I was told a couple weeks maximum turn around and hadn't heard anything up to 10/27/2023. When I called around to the various entities that these agreements are processed through I found that my order was never sent in or processes. To date, we have paid direct to ASC Dealers $2067.00 which they refuse to refund for not procuring any service and essentially losing or mishandling our contract. I have asked the dealer and ASC to refund the money and void the contract out of good faith and I have been denied each time but given no resolution.

      Failure to complete warranty work. 30 emails and multiple calls going back almost a year and leak still persist. They haven't replied in over a month and are ignoring my request for repairs. They attempted to stop leak with silicone earlier in year but it did not hold. No real attempt to make a repair made. Last person they sent told me a s**** was placed wrong and two pieces of metal would need replaced which they did not have. They showed me the notes they sent in along with pictures.

      I am rejecting this response because: This was not a proper repair. They came out and smeared more silicone(5th time doing this) on my new metal roof.  While yes,  this did finally resolve the leak,  it is only a temporary fix on what is supposed to be a permanent roof.  Now I'm being called and told I have a balance.  This was to be warranty work.  ************ continues to fail to honor the warranty that came with purchase and install of the carport.

      Upon ******'s request, we had initiated the process of removing the carport and issuing a full refund. However, she retracted on her initial request. Additionally, it is stated in the contract that the responsibility for preparing the site lies with the customer. Upon arrival, her site was not level as outlined in the contract. We suggest that ****** take the necessary steps to level the site as per the contract's requirements. Alternatively, if she prefers, she could hire someone to handle the leveling process. Once the site is appropriately prepared, we can proceed with the installation of the carport. We can still offer the removal of the carport and a full refund in good faith.

      I purchased a building from American Steel Carports. They kept having to schedule and cancel and reschedule the install 3 times. Finally got the building installed mid august 2023. My county inspector flagged a few things that were not done correctly and per the plans and said they needed to be corrected. I reached out to American steel and I got the run around for several weeks. Finally their engineering department confirmed that the missing brackets were indeed necessary and must be installed. I also paid for insulated doors but that isnt what they installed. I got the run around they pointed fingers at other internal departments that were responsible and finally I got someone that confirmed that my roll up doors were wrong and would only credit me back the difference for insulated verses non insulated doors. I have reached out multiple times to find out when they were going to come out and install the missing brackets and take care of a few other problems with the building and I cant even get a call back or email from them. Now here it is Mid October and still no answers. They are horrible to work with on the service side. They are great up until you give them money and after that they forget about you.

      That is a lame response from American Carports. Its the same response I have been getting since August. My building failed inspection because of missing brackets that American Carports needs to get installed. My building permit expires soon and I need the building to pass inspection before it expires. They have been blowing me off for months. I need action not *******. I should already be on the schedule to make the corrections but I am not on a schedule after months. They just keep saying they will get with the scheduling department. Its all ********. This company is horrible. Zero service after the sale.

      I ordered a carport from American Steel on 8/26/2023 They told me a price I agreed to it and paid a ****** deposit. Then they came back a month later and said I would need to pay another ****** for a stronger building due to snow. I told them I'm not paying any more money because their price was high enough. So, I asked for my deposit back. I was told I could not have my deposit back because the metal was already cut. I just want to be done with this company and want to warn other people about them. I see they have other complaints for the same thing.I

      American steel has given me the run around ever since I filed the first complaint, they started trying to make things better and solve the problem. They tell you they have a rent to own program with no credit check. once you send them your deposit, they change their tune and want your SS#. I told them I don't know why they need that if you're not running my credit. Then told me they couldn't delivery my carport. I told them forget it I would pay cash forget the rent to own. At that point they stop resounding to me. Please don't put yourself though this c*** go to another company.

      Bought a garage. The guys showed up 6 hours late. Spoke the most broken English I have heard. There was lots of damage done to garage steel as it was put up. Scratch and dent sale is more of what it looks like I got. But without the sale part. My large door was mounted too close to the ceiling so it dont open all the way. Rubs the ceiling. Was told it was my fault by service person in ******** because I didnt contact them first. And designed it on their website and dealt with a salesman. Also was told by the service department that I should have contacted a translator to deal with the installers. They were supposed to send me a check for 2000$ and give me paint and fix the door and the roof. They were supposed to be here yesterday or today. And were supposed to call yesterday and tell me when. They didnt. I called. Left another voicemail today 10/5. Than a couple hours later I get a call from an installer saying they are too busy today and will try for tomorrow afternoon. So now losing another 600$ for missing a day of work again for them to just not show up when they are supposed too. No one is held accountable and Im here just losing money hand over fist and not being reimbursed for not only what they already agreed to give me but also now missing work to wait for them to not even show up. for all this I should be getting reimbursed for the days of work I have had to miss due to them not following through on what they say and showing up on the days they say they are going to. And receiving the money I was already told I would get.

      You guys started my Lean-to and illegally took down which I made a police report about and got video and pics of damaging my property, I want my deposit back of ******* otherwise I will get a Lawyer to represent me and *** you for damages, money you kept of my deposit I put down and emotional distress. I want my money back period. This is a simple request to resolve without escalating. You guys backed out of agreement in writing and illegally took my property which nullifies contract and you owe me back my *******. Additionally I will have you pay for my attorney, time and Court costs which will be easily proven. It's your decision on my next moves. Nobody has cared to pay back my deposit which if this happened to any one of you, you would definitely want the same let alone damages and emotional distress . I'm gonna give you 30 days from this date of September 28th to pay me in full refund of the amount shown of deposit paid that you let behr industries keep but was your fault period.

      I am rejecting this response because:   American Steel Carports responded here as you can see that they would contact me and issue me in a check the amount of deposit I paid which is the sum of $1699.71.I waited 2 days for them to call and fulfill there promise here they made, but NO RESPONSE. I would appreciate my deposit back like they stated they would here, which is all I'm asking. This is a simple and easy transaction so we both can put this bad experience behind us. anyone would and I mean anyone would expect there deposit back on a job they backed out of and didn't receive anything in return for there money, I lost time, damage to my property and most importantly emotional distress over them backing out of a contract and keeping my money. I have pictures and videos and also now there response that they was gonna call me and issue me a check for my deposit and they continue to treat me HORRIBLY and UNPROFESSIONALLY which they wouldn't want done to them respectfully saying.
