Customer for almost 30 years drafting my account monthly have never received an explanation. This company takes your money and doesn't payout as promised. Do not do business with them and look at the long list of unsatisfied customer complaints before you do. VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

I am rejecting this response because:
After contacting this company and requesting change of beneficiary forms I never received anything. After sending death certificates per their request I never got a letter or call from Global. Customer for almost 30 years drafting my account monthly have never received an explanation. This company takes your money and doesn't payout as promised. We cannot possibly respond to ********************** initial complaint or his rejection without his brother's name and policy number or his name and date of birth. The problem is paying for the policy and them excepting my payment for over 7 years. When it comes to communication they don't know who I am and don't care to let me know anything about 10 k payout. How can a company operate like this. My brother asked to send a change of beneficiary to our address and it was never sent by Global. Policy #**C490731, insuring the life of ****************************, is a term life policy issued effective January 12,1996 in the amount of $10,**0.**. ************************* is the policy owner and his mother, *****************, is the designated beneficiary. ************************* has never been the owner or beneficiary of policy #**C490731.
************************* states in his complaint that he requested beneficiary change forms and never received anything. Policy notes indicate ************************* called on June 12, 2023 requesting a beneficiary change form. According to our records, a beneficiary change form (copy enclosed) was emailed to ************************* at ********************** the address provided by during the June 12, 2023 phone call. There is nothing in our records indicating a completed beneficiary change form was received back from ************************* prior to his death. Consequently, ***************** remained the designated beneficiary.
************************* passed away July 2,2023. The claim was received on July 23, 2023 and a copy of ************** death certificate was received July 31, 2023. The claim was paid August 22, 2023. Since ***************** predeceased *************************, and there was no contingent beneficiary named, the proceeds of the policy would have been paid to *************************** estate. However, because there was a child support lien against ***************************, the proceeds were paid to the Office of the ***** Attorney General as required by ***** law.

I paid for this policy after my mom passed. With her being gone and the beneficiary of this policy why didn't GL reach out and ask for changes to the *************? Instead, they continued drafting my account without communication of any kind. With the owner of the policy gone they continued to take money from anyone who would pay them. The only communication I have received from GL is thru BBB.

In February of 2023, I took out a $20,000 Term life insurance with a premium of $154.24 per month. The premiums were automatically deducted from my checking account. Due to inflation and only Social Security for income in mid June of 2023 I had to cancel this policy and sent the policy back to Globe Life with an enclosed letter requesting cancellation of the policy before the next premium deduction of July 5, 2023. This request gave Globe Life nearly three weeks to receive the policy and my request letter to cancel before July 5, 2023.On July 5, 2023 Globe Life deducted $154.24 from my checking account. I have called them and sent several emails requesting my refund. All I get in replies from them are automated emails stating that my request has been received and will be looked into. Last week I sent them an email stating that I was going to contact the BBB but, I got the same automated reply. I would like my refund of $154.24.Initial Complaint

Yearly life insurance premium of $160 was paid to United American Life Insurance *** in March 2023. My mother ***************************, the insured passed away April 11th 2023. I am seeking a refund of the premiums for the remaining 11 months. I have made many phone calls and faxed requested information with no response. I again called today 8/8/23 and was once again told they would submit my request to which I stated I have been told this every time I call and that the request has already been submitted. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one was not available. In my opinion a refund should have been sent without having to request it.Business Response

We would like to thank ***** for reaching out to us regarding the unearned premiums. It is standard practice when a death claim is filed, to return the unearned premiums with the death benefit. In this case our office had an assignment from American Funeral Finance. The Face Value of the policy, plus $133.33 in unearned premiums was paid for the funeral service. I have reviewed the business response and accept this resolution. I did finally receive a check in the mail of the request refund. However the customer service at your ********************** is very poor. Every time I called I would be transferred several times ( one time I was transferred 5 times!) and no one ever had a good answer or seemed to be aware of any of m previous calls. 01/15/2023 I wrote a check in the amount of $1.00 to Global Life. I was applying for their "promotional $1.00 for the first month premium life insurance policies". I received a call and completed my applicated. A couple a weeks later I received a letter that they could not extend coverage to me due to my medical conditions. After about a month, I never received a refund of my premium I paid so I called the number listed on the letter that I received in the mail. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach a live person. So, after much navigating and effort, I decided to call the number to sign up for new insurance and finally reached a live operator who routed me to someone who could told could answer my question. I asked the representative when I would receive the 1.00$ premium that I paid, she said that once an applicant is denied for coverage, they issue a refund check and I should receive the check in the mail in a couple of weeks. So that conversation was in February. Sure I could have called the bank by now but why should I. My bank charges a fee to cancel a check. In some cases they waive the fee. I've contacted this company via email several times. Each time, they take through the hassle. They want me to verify my name, my address, my date of birth, my policy ( which I've never had) and repeat this process and do nothing to resolve the issue. While I was away on vacation I got 29 different solicitation junk mail pieces in my mailbox! This is harassment. Ever since the BBB complained about the excessive junk mail I have been getting from Global Life, they craftily changed the spelling of my last name to "Albaneese" and now I am getting approx 1 piece of junk mil from them a day. I received 7 pieces in one week the last time I checked my mailbox. I live in a high rise building and use that condo as a second home so I am only there once a week or two. Every time I go my mailbox, which is small, it is stuffed with Global Life's junk. It prohibits me from getting my regular mail and my letter carrier is annoyed with the situation. I will never use this company for life insurance or anything else and I want them to take me off their mailing, calling or texting list permanently! Please help! Much thanks! -****

I got a quote online for life insurance and opted to not proceed with the company. Since then, I receive no fewer than 10 pieces of mail per month from this company, with some documents appearing official. I don't accept this frequency of mail from companies I do business with. I tried to call the company and after tangling in their automated system, it was clear that they either want to either sell you insurance or service your policy. They do not want to take a call from me asking them to take me off their mailing list. Very simple request and I don't have to beg. I'm hoping for resolution here so I don't have to contact the ********** of ******* and Insurance, so they can focus on more major issues. I'm sure plenty of people are experiencing this barrage of mail with our names and addresses on applications for scammers to get ahold of.Business Response

In November of 2022 I CANCELLED my Policy with Globe Life. The reason is I left the company I was working for at the time and I was insured at my new employer. On March 15 2023 Globe Life withdrew ***** from my account. My initial phone call back in November was that I DID NOT owe anything and my Policy was cancelled. I called Globe life DEMANDING my money back. They said it was a error in there part. BUT now I have to jump through hoops to receive my refund This company knew what they were doing and make the EX Policy holder to go through to many obstacles to receive a refund for a Mistake they made.Its criminal they was able to preform a unauthorized transaction in the first place. I used this company for short term disability and they have made it very difficult to work with them. I have called them several times the last few weeks to inquire about my claim. I have been on hold for HOURS at a time, only to be hung up on. Inquired about my claim to be told someone would get back to me. After the deadline passed, they finally reached out to me and denied my claim saying they had never received the documents from my doctors. Why didn't they tell me that before the deadline passed. Unable to use their online portal that they promote so they don't have to take calls, and whenever I call to get help, I get hung up on.Business Response

On 8-30-2022, my account was debited for life insurance for my husband ******** ********. I called to inform Globe Life that he passed a few days prior (08-27-2022) and I need to file a claim for the policy he took out for the mortgage and my daughter in college. I emailed the death certificate to Globe Life and they instructed me to also send the documents to: Globe Life & Accident Insurance Services Division PO Box 8076 McKinney, TX 75070. I sent in the forms and the death certificate and never heard back from the company about processing my claim.Business Response

A policy print is enclosed for your reference. ******** ******** is the policy owner; ****** ******** is the designated beneficiary. ******** ******** passed **** 08/27/22. His death (natural causes) was reported by the beneficiary via telephone on August 31, 2022. Our Claims Department responded in a letter dated September 8, 2022, explaining that the policy only pays a benefit if the death is due to an accident, as defined by the policy. However, although this letter did reflect Mr. ********'s policy number, it did not show his name, nor was it addressed to ****** ********. This error has been brought to the attention of management in our Claims Department for further review. On 10/02/22, Globe Life received a claim from Mrs. ********. The death certificate received indicates Mr. ********'s death was due to diabetes mellitus II, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, all natural causes. Claims did not immediately respond back to Mrs. ******** because a denial letter had just been sent on September 8, 2022. However, at the time, Claims was unaware that the denial letter was sent to the wrong beneficiary/address. After being notified of the error, Claims did send Mrs. ******** a proper denial letter on 11/14/22. A copy of this letter is enclosed. It is Globe Life's position that there are no benefits due under the above policy because ******** ********'s death was not accidental pursuant to the terms of the policy. Our Claims Department is in the process of refunding the premium payment that was drafted prior to notification of Mr. ********'s death. A copy of the check will be provided to you immediately upon receipt. I trust this information is fully responsive to your inquiry. If you should have any questions, please contact me via email.
