I am requesting a refund, I was told I do not qualify for this program, so why should they keep my money? I am requesting a full refund of $67Business response

Dear Mr. ************** you for your response. We appreciate your patience as we work toward a resolution regarding your refund request.
After further review of your account and communication with Denefits, we would like to clarify the following points:
1. Our internal records confirm that the total amount received by Cherrington Media was $3,101.39 from three payments made in May, June, and July.2. The remaining payments, including interest and fees, were processed and handled by Denefits. As a result, we are unable to refund amounts that were never received by Cherrington Media.
3. Regarding your claim of a refund instruction from **** Cherrington, we have reviewed the correspondence and confirm that our commitment is to process the refund of the $3,101.39 that was received by us, as stated in our previous response.
To proceed, we kindly ask that you provide the original payment method used for these transactions so we can process your refund accordingly.
If you have any further concerns regarding additional amounts, we encourage you to continue working with Denefits, as they facilitated your financing plan and handled all non-service-related fees.
We remain committed to resolving this matter professionally and fairly and appreciate your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Cherrington Media Customer Support TeamInitial Complaint

**** Cherrington made bold claims about achieving quick and significant results in his Video Sales Letter for the "5 Day Blitz" program. In the *** he claimed that participants would accomplish in five days what would take other affiliate marketers 3-6 months. He also promised that if results weren't achieved, he would either provide personal coaching or refund the money because, as he emphasized, he cared more about his students' success than their money. However, after completing the program, not only did I fail to see any of the results promised, but I ended up losing a significant amount of money in the process. I was offered additional coaching from someone else, but by that point, I had lost confidence in ***** method due to my financial losses and the lack of transparency in the program. I reached out directly to **** for months, requesting a refund as outlined in the ***. Unfortunately, despite his claims of being honest and caring about student success, **** did not respond to my attempts to resolve the matter. When I formally requested a refund, Cherrington Media denied my request, citing:A lack of a signed agreement. The time that had passed since my participation.I believe these points are irrelevant for the following reasons:The *** itself serves as an informal agreement under consumer protection laws, which recognize the explicit guarantees made in promotional materials. In the video, **** clearly states that if results aren't achieved, a refund would be provided. This was part of his marketing, and there should be no need for a signed contract when these terms were publicly stated.I have been reaching out for months, trying to resolve this issue.**** Cherrington's failure to honor the guarantees he made in his own promotional video undermines his claim of caring more about his students' success than their money. His unwillingness to refund, despite failing to deliver the results promised, has left me financially strained & disillusionedInitial Complaint

I paid $24,500 for a 6 month ********************************** Mentorship program from Cherrington Media, LLC, expecting them to provide all necessary resources and top-notch guidance as per the contract. Services were received from January 29th to April 11th, 2024.However, Cherrington Media, LLC failed to fulfill their commitments:- Delayed Start: They took a month to provide the resources and access needed to begin.- Poor Performance: The resources provided consistently lost money on affiliate ads. Their mentor admitted the need for better creatives, yet no improvements were made for 3 months.- Contradictory Instructions: I was told to create my own resources, contradicting the "Done-For-You" promise.- Inconsistent Mentorship: Different mentors gave conflicting advice, causing confusion, hindering progress, and me learning nothing as I didn't know what was right or wrong. When I raised these issues within 90 days, Cherrington Media delayed responses and had me pay for another service to fix things, which it didn't, seemingly to postpone addressing my concerns. On video calls with **** **** and **** **** they informed mewithout prior notice and not putting in writingthat my plan was actually 12 months, appearing to deter me from seeking a ********* my last video call, **** **** promised to reevaluate my refund and find solutions Cherrington Media, LLC would provide to get things working. Instead, he denied the refund via email, ignored providing solutions, and ignored my response communications for months.Despite my efforts, Cherrington Media's lack of support made it impossible to meet refund requirements. Though services are supposed to continue until January 2025, they refuse to work with me. In reality, I only received about 1.5 months of inadequate services that were not as described.I am seeking a refund due to Cherrington Media's failure to provide the promised services and wish to resolve this matter without resorting to legal action.Business response

Dear Mr. *******
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We take all feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address your complaint. We regret that your experience with our mentorship program did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify some points regarding our services and policies:
Program Type: The program you purchased was a 6-month mentorship, not our ************** service. The latter starts at $100,000 and involves different responsibilities.
Program Duration: Our mentorship program is indeed 6 months long, as stated in your contract. When you originally signed up, we were doubling the mentorship term as a gift. Many in the program were not aware of the gift, and we have found that many whose time is running out bring up the refund. We wanted to make sure you were aware of what you had.
Core Curriculum: Our core training focuses on email marketing. While we provide guidance on other platforms, marketing on social media platforms like ******** or ******* falls outside our core curriculum and guarantee.
Action-Based Guarantee: Our refund policy is action-based and requires meeting specific criteria outlined in the contract you signed. This includes a minimum ad spend, which is essential for learning and success in affiliate marketing.Guarantee Period: While we offer a 90-day guarantee, we actually provide a 120-day window by not starting the clock for the first 30 days. This allows clients to acclimate to the program.
Ad Spend: The guarantee applies to the mentorship program and not to ad spend on platforms outside our core curriculum. As per our contract and on-boarding process, ad spend on social media platforms is not covered by the guarantee. While other factors are considered, this is a primary reason the refund request is denied.
We understand your frustration with the results of your marketing efforts. However, success in affiliate marketing often requires time, testing, and persistence. Our mentorship program provides tools, guidance, and support, but individual results can vary based on many factors, including ad spend, market conditions, and individual effort. We remain committed to supporting our clients' success. If you would like to discuss how we can better assist you within the framework of our program, please contact our customer support team. We hope this clarifies our position and addresses your concerns. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I am rejecting this response because:
I was specifically told in the sales call that I had to sign up before the end of the month for promoting the mentorship part of the program to be "Done-For-You".
I never received in writing that my plan was extended to 12 months, only told on a video call once I was seeking a refund.
The contract specifies a 90 day window since signing up, and I was told via email that my request was 109 days after signing up so it was past the 90 day period I had to exercise the request. I was never told the period was 120 days.
The contract states "The ad spend should be on the traffic sources specifically recommended in our program. This ensures that your efforts are aligned with our proven strategies."
Nowhere in the contract does it state any specific platforms don't qualify, nor does it state promoting the mentorship isn't part of the program. Throughout onboarding there was nothing that specified the refund only applied to certain platforms. Promoting the mentorship came as part of the program I paid for and was never specified it didn't qualify for the guarantee.
Furthermore, this "reason" for the denial of my refund request is new to me and different than the reasons I was told previously in emails.
Cherrington Media keeps telling me they're here to help and to contact their support to work with them, but whenever I contact their support my requests go ignored completely as they are refusing to provide the services I paid for.
Cherrington Media has not provided me the services I paid for as described, and isn't providing me the services at all now even though my time period goes until the end of January 2025.

It's tough on everyone when someone struggles to find success in our program. We also feel that we have been very accommodating in our efforts to ensure this customer's success. His request for a refund was originally denied when it was weighed in the context of our refund policy, set forth in a contract that everyone signs when joining the program.
To reiterate: We offer a performance based guarantee, which is not an unconditional guarantee. The performance aspect means they must do their part in order for us to entertain a refund.
The criteria includes:
Active and engaged participation in at least 30 live calls
Completion and implementation of at least 10 marketing reviews
Use of the Virtual Assistants to help develop marketing assets
Diligent updates of the Profit and Loss (as proof that you are actually running and tracking performance)
Spending money on the marketing ($10,000 minimum)When a refund request is made, we look to see what the individual did with respect to the criteria. To suggest that our system doesnt work would be taken more seriously had he made an effort to launch a marketing campaign. In that respect it carries the weight of experience, and we know that learning the business of affiliate marketing hinges on ones financial ability to spend money on marketing. It is through the process of testing that the lessons are learned, and testing requires putting together a marketing campaign and running that campaign in the marketplace.
This customer did not participate in learning how to do affiliate marketing - which is the core purpose of the mentorship, and which is what the performance guarantee is tied to. He spent no money on his campaigns, never submitted for a review, never submitted profit and loss reports.
Customer asserts: I was specifically told in the sales call that I had to sign up before the end of the month for promoting the mentorship part of the program to be "Done-For-You". As there is no way to know whether or not the sales person gave such a promise or implied that it was, we will give the Customer the benefit of doubt, and as a gesture of goodwill, extend the services of a media buyer free of charge for a new term equal to his original mentorship, as an additional measure.
We explicitly instruct the sales team the following:
Promoting the mentorship is not the primary focus of the program
Promoting the mentorship is an opportunity as an affiliate
Electing to promote the mentorship is outside the programs action based guaranteeWe have media buyers that can handle all aspects of managing the mentorship promotion campaigns, short of paying for the ad-spend, so its about as done-for-you as it gets. This however does not guarantee sales, and the ad-spend does not count towards the required ad-spend of the mentorship.
The customer complains that he never received in writing that my plan was extended to 12 months. Doubling the term is a valuable bonus, so we are unclear why that is a problem. Nor does doubling the customer's access impact the contract.
Affiliate marketing has the potential to deliver a very nice income, and like any business it takes determination, focus and financial commitment. Investing in the mentorship is an investment in training and gaining access to tools and resources the company provides.
The biggest obstacle to success is discouragement, which can happen if success is not seen fast enough. But we are confident in our system and approach, and therefore stand by our refund policy, that if you follow the program and still do not find success - enough revenue to show proof that this approach works, well refund the mentorship fee and continue to support you in the program. Our objective is to ensure students learn affiliate marketing skillsets and provide the resources for success.

Even if those statements provided are made to the sales team, I was not informed in the sales call, or in the contact, or in the onboarding, or through any communication with Cheering Media that promoting the mentorship does not count towards the refund guarantee. It's interesting that Cherrington Media states extending my mentorship shouldn't be an issue not being in writing. Yet they only brought it up when I was seeking a refund over 2 months after I joined, and they just sent me an email after their last BBB response stating my access is being revoked now, unless I pay them $2,997, even though my membership is supposed to go until January 26th, 2025. Now I am unable to access things.Cherrington Media claims I never launched a single campaign, which is simply not true. I have spent over $4,000 on campaigns promoting the mentorship, and from those campaigns had consistently lost over 50%. I had also discussed these figures with Cherrington Media. They state extending the time of my membership doesn't affect the contact, yet ignored the fact that the contract says 90 day refund window which they used to deny my refund claim previously, but now they're saying it's 120 days which I was within.Being that the refund window is 120 days, I reached out to Cherrington Media with issues of them not providing the services as described 76 days into my membership. Cherrington Media kept delaying responses to me which delayed the refund request until 109 days into my membership, which is still within the 120 days. The contract as part of the refund guarantee states that Cherrington Media will do their part in providing top notch guidance and resources, and that if I do my part, I will gain affiliate marketing skills and knowledge.I was specifically told in the sales call that to promote the mentorship that all of the resources including ad copies would be already done for me (Done-For-You), tested, and working successfully being that I signed up by the end of the month. I was told all I would have to do is upload the ad copies to a campaign and run it. Eventually they had me pay for the media buyer service for a new $99/month tier. That only brought more issues including the ad account getting suspended and not even being able to run ads at all during that time. Additionally, I currently keep receiving emails that an ad account is posting ads against Meta's TOS, which is Cherrington Media's doing.I reached back out to their support and was told by **** ***** my refund request would be re-reviewed. I reached back out. **** again, stated my refund was denied and ignored finding me a solution. I called him out ignoring me on finding a solution yet another time, and that that email has now gone ignored since September 20th.Cherrington Media did not honor their agreement of the contract since they did not provide me the top notch guidance and resources I was informed in would receive. During my time working to attempt to resolve the issues with the merchant, I was unable to run ** ********* as I did not have the resources previously mentioned. This sheer lack of support from Cherrington Media made is simply not possible to meet the refund requirements from my end. When you count all the delays along with the time Cherrington Media has not provided me the services and completely ignored me, I've only even received some form of services for 2 months, and they were not as described. I completed the entire program, but it failed to deliver on its promises, leaving me with significant emotional distress and a $16,000 loss. I bought the 90-day mentorship program, which cost $11,000 (after a $2,000 discount) and required an additional $5,000 in ad spend to qualify for a money-back guarantee. Starting in mid-January, I encountered immediate issues with LiveIntent, the essential advertising platform. This halted my work, and with the program's deadline approaching, it was deeply troubling. During a live "State of the Union" call, students voiced their concerns, and **** Cherrington promised a membership pause for those affected. They created a workaround which failed. After wasting time with this workaround solution, eventually I gained access to LiveIntent, but my account was set up incorrectly, preventing any progress again. My emails seeking support went unanswered, increasing my frustration. In a subsequent call, **** confirmed the membership pause would continue. Concerned about my program timeline, I contacted ***** team for an updated membership end date but received no response. Frustrated with the mismanagement, I requested a refund. They responded quickly but told me I didnt qualify. I explained that my membership end date was unclear due to the ongoing pause and that my previous inquiries had been ignored. They then informed me my membership was extended to September 2024. By June 2024, I completed the program, and it didn't deliver -- it was a total fail. I requested a refund, having fulfilled all requirements for the guarantee, but it was denied because according to them, I hadnt completed the program within 90 days. I reminded them of the extension due to their issues with LiveIntent, but my concerns were dismissed. Despite multiple follow-up emails, I received no further response. In short, my experience can only be described as THEFT.Initial Complaint

I want to start by expressing our sincere regret for the complainant's dissatisfaction with our program. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to addressing any concerns raised.
Our mentorship program has a structured and consistent presentation process that includes pre-recorded sessions to ensure clear and uniform communication about how our affiliate program works. Every participant is required to review the program guarantee, initial each section to acknowledge their understanding of the guidelines, and sign the document at the end. We strongly encourage thorough reading of these guidelines to avoid any misunderstandings.
The guarantee clearly states the performance expectations of the participant, but allow me to share two I believe directly speak to the complaint:
- **No Guarantees or Warranties:** Employing the techniques, ideas, strategies, products, or services described by Cherrington Media and The Cherrington Experience does not guarantee similar results. Each individual's success and results may vary significantly based on personal skills, financial resources, marketing knowledge, and time investment. Historical performances or experiences shared on the website are not indicative of future results and should be understood as individual examples, not universal expectations.
- **No Get Rich ***** Promises:** The materials and content presented by Cherrington Media and The Cherrington Experience should not be interpreted as offering a get rich quick solution. The potential to earn and succeed in online marketing is heavily dependent on individual efforts and the prevailing state of online marketing. We make no promises or guarantees regarding the level of success or earnings one may achieve by applying the techniques and ideas shared on our site.
Our approach is designed to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge necessary for success. Many participants have found significant value and success through this program by committing the necessary time, effort, and financial resources.Initial Complaint

This business is to help you make some money from working with other affiliate marketers but once you get access to your account they want you to purchase more from them to start working. This was not said upfront instead it was heavily expressed that buying the products I bought would help me get started in what they call "Invisible Affiliate System." I've contacted them several times, I even had an appointment scheduled that they cancelled. I was going through my emails at night and happened to scroll by a new appointment scheduled for the original date and time that I had down. I emailed them back letting them know that not only did I not see this until late at night but now feel like they are playing a game with me because I don't want to buy more of their "services" without getting what I originally thought I was signing up for. Paying $364.00 just to find out I need to sign up with one of their "coach's" that I was unaware of before purchasing the program. I've reached out to them right away and haven't heard anything back other than them canceling and rescheduling me without being notified.Business response

We offer a 30 day no questions asked evaluation period for our program after someone makes an initial purchase. The person in question, from what we can see, made the initial purchase on May 21st, and was refunded on May 23rd. We consider this issue closed.
It appears there was a scheduled call with someone from our team which was cancelled. There may have been a missed communication in the process, and we regret any situation that falls prey to misunderstandings.
The company remains committed to providing the best in industry mentoring and tools for affiliate marketing.

Purchased 3 month mentorship affiliate marketing program for $11,000. Sales person, what they call a Coach, and all the prepurchase information sets you up so that you will be making affiliate income right away based on their program and if not there is this refund if you don't make $5k. Well I watched all the videos, followed the program, attended calls, spent money on running ads with $0 return within the 3 months. Asked for a refund and was denied based on their criteria, which included spending $5k on ads. If I needed to have $5k to spend in ads that should have been made clearer since the coach indicated $2k in ad spend was plenty to start making commissions. I feel totally taken advantage of. Just another scheme where the wealthy are preying on the dreams of poorer people looking to make additional income. Now I have a $13k loan which I was pushed into for this mentorship of a mere 3 months. $11k went to course purchase and $2k was for ad budget. When I said I didn't have a huge budget for ad spend the coach that sells the program should have mentioned I needed $5k on top of the $11k tuition. And knowing a person works full time and can't be on calls during the day when the calls are hosted should have been mentioned. I could never afford this program from the beginning. Their sales tactic is EXTREMELY misleading. I wish I had ready the BBB complaints before signing up. The selling "Coach" said there was little risk because of the refund guarantee which was a huge lie.Business response

Its truly regrettable whenever we dont meet a student's expectations or when a student for whatever reason requests a refund. We absolutely believe anyone can accomplish success if they continue with patience, persistence and positivity. It also requires a healthy budget for spending on marketing campaigns - whats referred to as ad-spend. We cant guarantee success, but we do guarantee that a student will earn $5000 in commissions if they follow our program. In order to earn commissions, you must be able to spend money on marketing. The performance guarantee is 90 days, and we start the 90 day period 30 days AFTER the student joins, to give them time to get oriented to our program.
Cherrington Media mentorship program instructs those seeking to learn the hard skills of affiliate marketing - how to research suitable products, how to identify and develop ad angles, how to create effective and compelling marketing materials that express the ad angles, how set up and launch campaigns on multiple traffic sources; how to analyze the data and chart the next steps. Its comprehensive training for anyone serious about learning or upgrading their skills as an affiliate marketer. As the founder of the company shows I show how I was able to use the principles taught in this mentorship to earn large sums. My experience and performance are unique to me. Everyone coming into this program is responding to advertisements that say my performance is based on years of experience in the industry.
Before a mentee/student pays any mentorship fee they are required to respond to a series of questions:
Questions:
You understand that affiliate marketing with Cherrington Media or any other affiliate marketing company takes hard work and dedication and you are not guaranteed any income level?
You understand that being a good mentorship student requires diligence, follow through and commitment?
You understand that any financial projections or cash flow spreadsheets are simply to help you understand how the money flows and is not a projection of what you will make?
You understand that Cherrington Media has a 90 day action based guarantee and you must adhere to those rules for this money back guarantee?
Your risk is TIME, MONEY, and YOUR ABILITY TO LEARN A NEW SKILL. Are you willing to accept these risks?
You understand that no matter what level of mentorship you are at, your income is directly correlated to your ability to follow instructions and apply the direction of ***** mentorship team?
If they do not respond Yes to any of these questions, they will not be allowed to proceed to payment.
Additionally they must sign our performance guarantee, in which they acknowledge having read by initialing each of the 5 criteria. The person in question was in the program less than 2 months, and met none of these criteria, only asked for 1 review of their marketing (they need to get 5 minimum), nor did they take advantage of our VA team which is there to help them.
We understand when someone comes into the program with expectations that dont match what the program is or offers can cause a rift. The income potential is there, but it requires dedication, hard work, patience and money to achieve the goals.

I have reviewed the business response and accept this resolution. Not all the information in the response is accurate as I have emails reflecting multiple reviews and use of the VA Team. However, nothing additional can be done. Other than I strongly discouraged others to sign up for his programs.Initial Complaint

Dear ******************,
We appreciate you reaching out to us and the Better Business Bureau regarding your experience with The Cherrington Experience. We understand that you are disappointed with the outcome of your participation in our affiliate marketing mentorship program and we would like to address your concerns.
After reviewing your case, we acknowledge your efforts in following the program. However, as per our "Clear Action-Based Refund Guarantee" outlined in the agreement signed on August 9, 2023, there are specific criteria that must be met to qualify for a refund. This guarantee is designed to ensure that students are fully committed and engage with the program as intended for the best chance of success.
Based on our records and the criteria listed in the agreement, it appears that certain requirements were not met on your part. These criteria include:
- Attendance of at least 20 live Zoom calls.
- Completion of at least 5 marketing reviews.
- Utilization of our professional VA team.
- Sharing and updating your P&L spreadsheet.
- Spending at least $10,000 on ads.We designed these criteria to ensure a comprehensive engagement with the program, which is crucial for achieving success in affiliate marketing. It appears that while you have made significant efforts, some of these criteria were not fully met.
We understand that this may be disappointing. However, our policy is in place to ensure that all students are given the same opportunity and requirements for success. The Cherrington Experience is committed to providing valuable training and support, but it also requires a significant commitment from our students to follow the program diligently. We are willing to review your case further to understand any specific areas where you might need additional support. I purchased into ***** affiliate arbitrage mentorship program and I received a a series of videos on his website and some links to an online forum as well as a few other links to ad networks and other networks. Most of the websites under Cherrington Media were incomplete. Links led to nowhere. Some accounts I was supposed to have access to I did not. I asked for help multiple times in emails and messages on his forum but was told I was on the *** program because I couldnt afford the program that allowed me access to mentors in his mentorship program. How do you have a do it yourself mentorship program? After weeks of delays getting his sights up and working I decided to ask for my money back in his ironclad money back guarantee that he stated he will refund in full plus $1000 he will pay us if were not satisfied. I did not get my $2000 back or the. Additional $1000 in his money back guarantee. The only thing I got was an email from **** showing he refunded me $1000 but the chargeback s equals $1000 so I got nothing. I did, however get some third-party denifits billing reporting negatively on my credit report for the past six months and ongoingBusiness response

Dear *****,
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We take all feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address the issues you've raised.
Firstly, we'd like to clarify the nature of the product you purchased. The course you enrolled in was our "*** Affiliate Arbitrage Course", which, as the name suggests, is a self-guided program. This course is distinctly different from our personal mentorship programs. The *** course offers a compilation of resources, including video content, links to forums, and connections to ad networks. It is designed for individuals who prefer a more autonomous learning experience. We understand that this might have caused some confusion, and we apologize if the distinction between our *** course and the comprehensive mentorship program was not sufficiently clear at the time of your purchase.
Regarding your concerns about the website functionality and access issues, we are committed to continuously improving our user experience. We acknowledge that there might have been temporary technical challenges, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our team is dedicated to resolving such issues promptly and ensuring that all elements of our courses are fully operational.
We also want to address your point regarding our refund policy. It is important to note that our *** course has always operated under a 'No Refund Policy'. This policy is distinctly different from the one applicable to our full mentorship program. The 'ironclad money-back guarantee' you mentioned is exclusively associated with our comprehensive mentorship program, not the *** course. We regret any misunderstanding in this regard.
Lastly, regarding the partial refund you mentioned, it was an exception made in good faith, considering your dissatisfaction. This gesture was beyond our stated policy and was intended as a goodwill effort to address your concerns.
In closing, we are committed to providing quality educational resources and support to our customers. We regret any misunderstanding or inconvenience you have experienced and remain dedicated to resolving any outstanding issues. Please feel free to reach out to our customer service team for any further assistance.
Sincerely,
**** CherringtonFounder & CEO
