The meat is not top grade, non flavor with ******* and tough pieces. The bait and switch ribeye offer of 20 paper thin ribeyes for $40 is scam to sell you hundreds of dollars of better looking meat but once thawed is a pinkish **** color. I would like my $200 backBackyard Butchers

Drove up to the Backyard Butcher truck at **************** in **********, **. I tried the prime cut, 20 for $39, because I have a hungry 21-year-old at home. I **** three up excited he would love them. He took two bites and told me hes not eating them because they taste like s*** He asked if i was going to eat the steaks so I tried a bite and they were hard as a rock and nasty meat. Ive never had a ribeye that small, either. I would never **** them up at a backyard barbecue because Id be embarrassed by the quality. When I stepped out to ask about the meats he showed me the box of 20 prime cuts. And then he tried the bait and switch tactic where he pulled out the big box with four different kinds of meats for $129. I dont like Pushy salespeople that are obviously trying to upsell. Its a type of scam. I told him Id buy the small box of 20 and requested that he take out a fresh frozen box from his truck. He refused and replied, I just took this one out. My suspicions told me this was the worst one he couldve possibly showed me. Another tactic, slip of the hand making it look like something its not. Why couldnt I just have a box from the truck? No one was behind me waiting. Not having a lot of knowledge about meat I expected he would be more helpful. This guy is not a butcher hes a high-pressure salesman. Its sub par in taste, size and presentation. Probably let my dog eat it if I had one. Since I dont its going in the trash because Im very disappointed. I wasnt handed a receipt but I see the charge on my credit card. I would like my money returned because I am not satisfied. The next day I drove back to the parking lot and the truck was running but no sales person was around. Never will I stop at that truck again. The absolute worst rip off by a smooth salesman my wife spent 350$$ on so called rib eye and sirloin believe what you want but my dog turned his nose up stay away!!!Backyard Butchers

Ya the 20 ribies were small. What do you expect for 40 bucks. Nice sandwich steaks. As for the meat package. The longer you talk to the guy the lower the price got. Spent 200 $ and got a good deal. Not top quality meat, but not bad at all. I'd buy it again.Backyard Butchers

1 starI purchased 6 boxes of meat from this company, from a truck, in our mall parking lot. Bad decision, ****** learned! The salesman was swift and good. I took the meat directly home in a cooler and placed it in my stand up freezer. Sadly, we did not thaw any of the meat till months later. But, after thawing the ribeyes out for dinner and cutting into the vacuum seal the foulest oder came from the steaks! It was so bad we could not even **** them. They were rancid! My husband has processed deer meat before and his said the smell was so bad, he even wondered if the meat was even beef! Long story short I finally contacted the company, which my credit card (CC) company only has an email contact for this company. Lack of contact information fro this business. I never got a receipt. The company said they only have a refund policy of 2 weeks. But offered me a $100 refund, (I paid $300) IF I give them all of my (CC) card information over the phone! My (CC) company said, "DO NOT EVER GIVE all of your (CC) information to anyone! VERY FISHY, SCAM!! LOUSY refund anyway! Not even half of what I paid! BEWARE of this company! They are not local. They drive around selling the meat and then are hard to contact and its impossible to return the food in 2 wks! ****** learned!! The meat will be used for *******************!! UGH!!I only gave them 1 star since it is required as the lowest rating. They do not even deserve 1 star!!Review fromJames M

I drove to their meat truck location and when it was my turn I pulled up and was met by 2 very high pressured sales men . When they realized I only wanted to purchase the special they rudely asked me to pull up out of the way until they processed my credit card . Then told me they work on tips and that they need tips, feeling bombarded I gave them ***** extra . This should never be anyone's experience . The steaks are small thin and grisly I had no idea I'm so sad this happened to me and I hope that by sharing my experience I can help other hard working families !Backyard Butchers

I purchased both a meat and chicken package. This is my second year in a row Ive bought their steaks. My family and I have enjoyed everything thus far. The local salesman was great with the people in line who were undecided on what to purchase- he explained each box and showed the products for us to review.Backyard Butchers

These are from backyard butches, just like the name says. They aren't passes by USDA and are basically poachers with excessive meat that are profiting from it. The meat is horrible! That's why it's so cheap. I'd be afraid to eat it because you don't know what these cows and chickens have been eating.Backyard Butchers
