Be very careful if you sign up to receive this newspaper. I have tried to cancel this numerous times only to keep getting billed every month. When you ask for a confirmation for the cancellation they say that they do not provide a written cancellation as the agreement is made over the phone. Also, when asked why I wanted to cancel they were extremely rude and I was hung up on. If I am billed again, I will be forced to dispute the charge and/or get a new card. I do not know how they can get away with this. Consider yourself warned!San Antonio Express News Response

******************,
My apologies for the experience you had with customer service. After reviewing your account I show you called on 5/1/24 and agreed to continue your service. The next communication was dated 7/23/24 and spoke to customer service requesting to cancel your subscription. **************** will make attempts to continue your service and ask the reason for the cancelation. My apologies they were rude to you. Since you disputed your latest charge to your bank you will receive your refund through the bank. I have canceled your account effective immediately.

I was at the store and a sales person was advertising this business at a completely different price than what I was charged for. In no way what so ever was I disclosed the price I was charged. I would like a refund since I never actually got the services, was never disclosed the price, nor was provided the terms of service when signing up. This is a misleading business practice altogether and needs to be addressed.San Antonio Express News Response

I never signed up for this subscription and never received emails stating I signed up for this. I called to cancel and to get a refund for this unauthorized transaction and they said sorry there is no refunds. I dont even live in *** Antonio and have no idea how I was conned into this. Beware of anyone affiliated with this company. They do bad business!Review from William H

I see many others have fallen for the same scam. They offer a 3-month trial for 25cents/month. Beware, however, they bill your credit card for s full subscription 10 days before the end of the trial period. Then they tell you absolutely no refunds! This is a deliberate trick to scam people! I am convinced that it is illegal but the average person can do nothing! Very dishonest!San Antonio Express News Response

************,
I am sorry to hear that you had this experience. Our terms and conditions are that you may cancel any time, but we do not offer refunds.
The terms also state that the ******* ********* will charge in 10 days in advance of the renewal date. The only charge I see on your account is the initial charge of $.25 since the account just started on 6/27/24.

About 2 months ago I signed up for Sunday physical delivery and digital access. I have yet to receive a Sunday paper. I have called three different times, about every other week letting them know I still haven't received a Sunday paper, each time they told me my problem was escalated and I will get the Sunday paper the coming Sunday. Hasn't happened yet. I gave them three chances over a 6-week period, now I will cancel/non-renew. So disappointed. I have lived in **********, ********, and *****. This is by far the worst newspaper delivery experience I've had. It's a shame that journalism has turned into a money scheming scam. Don't advertise something you can't deliver! Shame on you!San Antonio Express News Response

San Antonio Express news has a booth set up at *** in ********* *****. I sighed up for 1 month trial period. I was assured that I would receive and email about a week before they would debt my account for the subscription. I was NOT notified and they debt my account. I called customer service and cancelled but was told it was an auto renewal, non refundable charge. I was told they were putting coupons back in the paper. I never received a coupon nor a Sunday paper. Scam!!! It is true what they say..if its too good to be true then it probably is!!San Antonio Express News Response

Absolutely the worst subscription service ever; it is not borderline scam business practicesthis is a scam business. I was being charged for 2 separate accounts with zero customer service support to cancel the services via their only option which is the telephone number. The hold times to speak to an agent are at least one hour and you are likely to be hung up on or transferred. When an agent promises they cancelled a future charge, they do not have any cancellation written confirmationjust a four digit code I have no idea where it is tracked or why its issuedit sounded like a made up number. I cant believe this organization can still operate so fraudulently with such a history of valid consumer complaints.San Antonio Express News Response

I did find 2 accounts but the previous account was stopped back in 2020 and the last charge was dated 8/7/20 for $9.95. The most recent account you started ******************** effective 12/3/23 and is due to stop on the effective date of 5/19/24. I don't show any duplicate charges on your current account. If you can provide that information I will certainly follow-up with finance. I can be reached at ************ or ***************************************.

San Antonio express news had a booth setup in my local HEB in December 2023 offering 2 months of daily delivery for $30 per month. The salesperson was adamant that after 2 months the offer auto cancelled and no further obligation unless I responded to an email to extend the service. In January 24th my debit card was billed a 3rd month at $30. I promptly called annd was and advised that the special was 3 months, not two, and stupidly agreed to a reduced Sunday only service at $13 per month as soon as the third month ended. Fast forward to yesterday and my debit card was charged $50!! I called customer service and they were closed for the day so I emailed demanding to cancel my subscription per my rights under terms and conditions posted on their website to do so at any time and to reverse the unauthorized $50 charge and received a response confirming that my subscription had been reduced from daily to Sunday only at the new rate of $13 per month. No explanation of why I was charged $50 and no response to returning my $50. Extremely disappointed.San Antonio Express News Response

**************,
After reviewing your account, I see you called on 1/26/24 and your service was switched to Sunday only effective 2/25/24. Since the service will not update till that time you are still on the 7-day delivery service which is why your account was charged $50.00 at the rate of $12.50 week. If you want ****************** that will take place this Sunday and I can refund you the difference totaling $43.00.

I have been contacting the San Antonio New Express customer service for the past two weeks, trying to get a receipt for the payment of ****** made on 1/18/2024. I paid for a year subscription and must have a receipt to attach my *********************** credit card which was used to make the payment. I have called ********************************** off the call 4 times. Then when I finally get to speak to someone I am told I should receive an email by email in ***** hours. So, I waited and then called back the team escalated the request about 5 times. I have spoken to 5 different supervisors or managers, with no resolve. I sat on hold with one manager for 2.5 hours, only to be hung up on. The last manager I spoke to told me there was nothing else they could do and put me on hold again, not to come back. I finally hung up. I have still had no resolve.San Antonio Express News Response
